Recently there was news in TV that Coca-Cola secretary Joya Williams stole the company secret and tried to sell it to its rival Pepsi for 1.5 million dollars. But Pepsi personals reported to police and she got caught. Now a federal jury convicted her of conspiring to steal trade secrets from the largest beverage making company in the world in an effort to sell them to Pepsi the rival. Joya Williams faces up to 10 years in prison.

This is the end for a person who steals or does wrong and who breaks the law. There are many who profess themselves to be Christians who also play these types of cheap tricks and put themselves in trouble. And how frustrating it will be for you when you find that your things have been stolen and being used by others. I used to come across some forums in Internet, where people express in great frustration saying that their articles were stolen and that the same articles are appearing in some other sites without giving them proper credit and with author’s name changed. Not only stealing but also claiming others property as their own.

Once when I was in primary school, my dad bought a beautiful pen for me. I took it to my school and used it for hardly three-four days. One day there was very heavy rain and so the school was closed before its scheduled time. Because the rainwater had filled up to 1&1/2 feet on the ground, we could not move out of the school. While standing with other kids in the school veranda, waiting for rain to stop, I realized that my new pen was missing. I looked around and could not find it. That day I returned home with very heavy heart. Two days later I saw one of my classmates using my pen. I went to him and asked, “From where did you get this pen?” As soon as he heard the question, he got very angry and said, “mind your business… its none of your business to find out from where did I get this pen.” I was frightened with his behavior and yet with chocking voice I said, “but… this was my pen” Your pen… he shouted with much anger. I could not find any more courage to say anything. My little mind did not get the idea to tell this thing to the teacher. I just gave up my fight thinking I would never be able to prove that it was my pen. But for many days I felt very sorry in my heart for having lost my pen.

Jesus said in John 10:10 "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

In the Garden of Eden, devil stole the property of God fooling Adam and Eve. God’s heart grieved seeing that His own was stolen from Him. Men are forever separated from their creator and master because of their sin but Jesus came in this world seeking His lost sheep. We read in Mat 18:11 "For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.” He came in this world to once again reunite us with the Father and our Maker.

My friend, Its enough that you have walked in the ways of the devil. But now turn to `the Creator who created you so that you could walk in His ways. Come to Him and give your life to Him. He will fill you with joy and abundant life that world cannot give. On the cruel cross Jesus gave His precious life and shed His blood so that we could come out of our sins and live a holy life and find eternal life. If we continue in sin, there is no hope for us. But if we turn from our evil ways, He is gracious to forgive and forget all our sins. In 1 John 1:8-9 we read, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Riches to Rags

By Sheela Isaac

3 John 1:2, "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."

The above verse clearly states that God wants us to prosper in every field of our life. But there is a certain condition for it which says, "just as your soul prospers." The prosperity from God is conditional. It means that those who love God and walk in His ways can see prosperity in their lives. Please remember that according to the Bible having just money alone is not the sign of prosperity but having no lack in life is prosperity. It means that having joy, peace, healing, health and happiness along with everything else money, riches, grain and oil is called prosperity. Prov 10:22, "The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it." God's prosperity brings joy with money but no guilt or condemnation. If you make money in wrong ways it would definitely bring guilt and pain. According to the Bible, God brings riches and joy to the life of a believer and to those who genuinely love God and are saved.

That is what we see throughout the Bible. Those who walked in the ways of God were not poor and beaten down people. Many think that if you are a preacher you should wear rags, you should live with simplicity, you should not wear costly dresses, you should not have Mercedes car etc. If that was true, David, Solomon, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph and many other Bible characters should have lived in poverty and begged for food. But contrary to that, Bible says that they were all very rich. Bible does not deny prosperity theology nor does it ask you to live in lack. God brings prosperity in our lives but it is satan who brings misery and poverty. It is the devil who wants to see us in poverty and in destruction. Poverty is a spirit and it could be placed in your life by witchcraft or any other means.

A family related to us was doing all the evil for us behind the scene. They wanted to see us destroyed. I always thought, “why they want to harm us when we have done nothing against them.” I thought why they hated us so much when we never thought of any harm to them. Well one day I thought that if we go a little more sociable with them they might turn around and become friendly. I thought that by associating more with them we might bring them to salvation and they could escape hell. Sometimes when we go extra mile in doing good for others, it brings terrible disaster in our own lives. We never gave a thought that this friendly gesture could turn to a horrible disaster for us. One day we visited this family and had few conversations. They said that they wanted to make burgers for us. While the burger was being prepared the woman of the house said, "let's go out and see my veggie garden." Well gardening is my passion and so I really wanted to see her garden. While we were out watching the garden suddenly I heard the small still voice of God saying," you should not have come out, you do not know what would happen to those burgers." I was shocked and felt a little restless. Well after some time we came inside but I had no chance to talk to my family what I really felt. The big mistake was that I even did not think of praying and finding out what the warning was about. Well we had the burgers, had chatted for some time and returned home.

After half an hour my brother began to throw up (vomit). At first we thought it might be just indigestion and it would go away. But he was throwing up every hour or two. He looked very ill. Finally when his condition didn't improve we took him to hospital and the doctor gave him iv (intravenous injection). The doctor examined him and told that it is gastroenteritis /stomach flue and it would go away in a week or two. But it did not go away. The condition got worst and worst and he remained pretty ill. He was constantly throwing up, he was not able to take even yogurt. Even if he took a little bit of yogurt he would shake and shiver like a leaf in the wind. Within two months his health went down and he lost 28 pounds. He looked so skinny that everybody began to ask, “what happened why are you getting so thin. The nightmare continued and we didn't know what to do. We stayed awake night after night only seeing him in great pain and throwing up all night. In that horror we could only turn to God and pray. We reminded God all the promises and claimed those promises. We said, "Jesus please give his health back and life back, what else we can ask for." We cried out before God knowing that Jesus only can heal him. There were times when he felt that his head is spinning and he will get mad. There were times when he used to drive the car and felt sudden darkness before his eyes and he felt that he would hit the car somewhere. He was that ill.

Meanwhile my brother was not able to do any work. Once we had a flourishing business getting income of 15-20 thousand dollars per month, but now he was not able to work. So we lost those contracts and our income dropped to less than 500 dollars. Once we had TV and Radio programs but it was all lost. Can you imagine what a burger can do to you? I had a great time regretting the day and hour when we ate those burgers. There were hundreds of times when the thought came to me, “why did we go to their house, why did we eat those burgers?” This regret never goes away because our lives never stayed the same again. Because of one burger we faced untold misery, pain, tears and humiliation. One day the Lord said during the family prayer, 'I have allowed you go through it so that you can understand what witchcraft can do to a person." Yes, witchcraft can destroy your health, it could destroy your wealth, it could destroy you and it could put you in total misery.

Once a sister sent us an email for prayer regarding her financial crisis. She wrote saying,"we are going though much financial crisis. Our furniture and household things are wearing out but we do not know from where the money would come and how to replace them. Then she wrote something very powerful which touched me so deeply, "God why your generosity comes and stops at my door steps only." When I read it I wept bitterly. I felt that she wrote my own story and sent it back to me. I cried out before God and said, "Jesus if I had money I would have definitely helped her but now I am myself going through the same condition. Please help her and restore her finances.

Well we prayed almost one year for my brother's health. I thought in my heart: as long as life and health stays with a person, he/she can still make money. But life and health is more important than money. Finally the Lord heard our tear-filled prayers and sent His servant Dr. Paul Dhinakaran. One day out of the blue he called and said that for the past two months he had felt that he should call us. Then he asked," Do you want me to pray for something?" My brother told about his illness and Br. Paul prayed with much burden over telephone. Something happened that day, an instantaneous healing took place. When the evening dinner time came, my brother said, "I feel better now can I have some chicken?" He had not eaten chicken for more than a year and so we were really scared but anyway he ate a little bit of it. We waited to see if he gets shivering or he throws up but nothing happened. The next day he ate more chicken and nothing happened. Then we really knew that he was healed totally and he began to eat everything normally from that day onwards.

What a great God we have! He sees our tears and does answer our prayers. When Saul of tarsus (Paul) met Jesus on the way to Damascus and when he became blind, Lord sent His servant Ananias to pray for him and bring eye sight back. Acts 9:1, "Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest. Acts 9:3 -5, "As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" And he said, "Who are You, Lord?" Then the Lord said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads." Acts 9:8-12, "Then Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were opened he saw no one. But they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus. Acts 9:9 And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank. Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and to him the Lord said in a vision, "Ananias." And he said, "Here I am, Lord." So the Lord said to him, "Arise and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying. "And in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him, so that he might receive his sight." Acts 9:17 -18, "And Ananias went his way and entered the house; and laying his hands on him he said, "Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit." Immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he received his sight at once; and he arose and was baptized."

Jesus does it today also. When you cry out before God in pain He sends His servant to rescue you. Jesus never left us. In the middle of misery and pain He was still there helping out. Yesterday I had a chance to visit one university and I read the words written on the wall. It said, "If God brings you to it, God will also bring you through it." How true it is, if you love God and live for Him He will not leave you in the half way though what may come on your way. He never left us alone, when we cried out to Him He did come with His healing and healed my brother.

I was recently reading the story of Esther and few things really touched me deeply. In Esther chapter 3 and onwards we read about the conspiracy of Haman to kill Jews and Mordecai. The reason was Haman found out that Mordecai would not bow down before him. According to the Bible, Jews won't bow down before people but only before the living God. So Mordecai avoided it. When Haman came to know about this he got very upset and he told his friends and family. They advised him to make a 50 cubits high gallows to hang Mordecai. Est 5:14, "Then his wife Zeresh and all his friends said to him, "Let a gallows be made, fifty cubits high, and in the morning suggest to the king that Mordecai be hanged on it;" When Haman was planning all these things God was not sleeping and He did not allow the king to sleep either. That night king felt very restless. Est 6:1 That night the king could not sleep. So one was commanded to bring the book of the records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king. Est 6:2 And it was found written that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's eunuchs, the doorkeepers who had sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus." King finds out that Mordecai had saved his life so he wanted to honor him. Look: on the one side Haman was planning to kill Mordecai while on the other side God was planning to honor him.

When Haman comes to the king he asks, "the man he wanted to honor how he should honor him." Haman thinks that who else king might want to honor than himself. Esther 6:7-11 And Haman answered the king, "For the man whom the king delights to honor, "let a royal robe be brought which the king has worn, and a horse on which the king has ridden, which has a royal crest placed on its head. "Then let this robe and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king's most noble princes, that he may array the man whom the king delights to honor. Then parade him on horseback through the city square, and proclaim before him: 'Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honor!'" Then the king said to Haman, "Hurry, take the robe and the horse, as you have suggested, and do so for Mordecai the Jew who sits within the king's gate! Leave nothing undone of all that you have spoken." So Haman took the robe and the horse, arrayed Mordecai and led him on horseback through the city square, and proclaimed before him, "Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honor!"

The funny thing is that Haman wanted to kill Mordecai but God made him to go out and honor him. Haman wanted to kill Mordecai on 50 cubit high gallows but he himself was killed on it. If you love God, He will turn your misery and trouble into good things. People might try to destroy you but if you love God He will return it to your enemies and make escape routes for you. Please always remember that God is not sleeping when your enemies are making evil plans against you.

The Promise and the Battle

By Sherly Isaac

In the first book of Samuel 16th chapter we read that God sent Samuel to anoint David to become king. It was very big thing for an ordinary shepherd boy to become a king. The promise of God came to him as prophecy through prophet Samuel. Not only he had the promise of God but also Holy Spirit came upon him that day forward as we read in 1 Sam 16:13, “Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward.”

God promised and equipped David with His Holy Spirit so that he could become a king according to His will. This precious promise would have given him great joy. But do you know what? His joy was short lived. The promise was precious and beautiful but he had to go through a long battle until he could really get hold of the promise. This promise brought great misery and pain in his life. His life became painful as Saul the king of Israel became his enemy. On many occasions Saul tried to kill him but David escaped without harm as we read in 1 Sam 19:10, “Then Saul sought to pin David to the wall with spear, but he slipped away from Saul's presence; and he drove the spear into the wall. So David fled and escaped that night.” Not only David had to run for his life but also his household had to. His parents and brothers had to leave that place because Saul and his army were seeking him everyday but God protected him. We read in 1 Sam 23:14, “And David stayed in strongholds in the wilderness, and remained in the mountains in the Wilderness of Ziph. Saul sought him every day, but God did not deliver him into his hand.”

The king of Israel was seeking him everyday to kill him but he could not catch him because God was with David. Can you imagine, the whole army of Israel was searching for a shepherd boy to kill him? More than that Saul ordered to kill the whole house of Ahimelech the priest without any mercy because he helped David. It is written in 1 Sam. 22: 6-22. It was the most horrific thing Saul did, just because he wanted to root out David and just because he wanted to see that his kingdom should not slip away from him.

Whenever Saul heard that David was in so and so place, he and his army went to somehow catch him but they could not. While we read the whole story of David we can understand that how much he was disappointed and hopeless at times. There was no meaning of the promise for him when he was fleeing for his life. He even thought that he was just one step away from death. This was the life of David. He lost everything in his life. The hope of better tomorrow was fading away from him though he saw few successes in his life.

But God’s promises are yea and Amen in Him. What He spoke, He certainly fulfills it. Finally a day came when Saul died and David asked God what to do as we read in 2 Sam 2:1, “It happened after this that David inquired of the LORD, saying, "Shall I go up to any of the cities of Judah?" And the LORD said to him, "Go up." David said, "Where shall I go up?" And He said, "To Hebron."”

Further we read in 2 Sam 2:4, “Then the men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah.”

OK, finally David became king in one portion of Israel. But again it was not that smooth and battle was not over yet. There was a long battle between Saul’s household and David’s household as 2 Sam 3:1 says, “Now there was a long war between the house of Saul and the house of David. But David grew stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul grew weaker and weaker.”

It took seven and half more years for David to become king of all Israel as we read in 2 Sam 2:11, “And the time that David was king in Hebron over the house of Judah was seven years and six months.”

You can see how much struggles and how many tragedies he faced before he became king. His heart was shattered to pieces. But God is faithful. What He promised, He fulfilled in His right time. Had David given up the fight thinking that God’s promises were not coming true, he would have not only lost his life but also of his whole household.

There is a time for every promise of God to come true. If God has spoken something for you, holdfast to that promise and never give up. No matter how hard it feels to you, no matter how many battles may rage against you, never give up. One day God will fulfill His promise for sure.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
