Worry is the word that eats up most of the people. We worry for things that may never happen. Often people worry thinking about what would happen tomorrow or in the future. Once a sister told us that often she feels much worried thinking whether anybody including her children will care of her in her old age? Yes, worry is the greatest problem for the whole world.

But Jesus said in Mat 6:25-33, “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

I remember when I was not yet saved, I often got much worried for even small things and had too much restless feelings in my heart. But when I came to Christ, I gave all my worries in His hand just like Peter said in 1Pet 5:7, “casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” and all my worries are gone now and I have great peace in my heart. Because I know that God cares for my life and I am safe in His mighty hands.

Are you worried about tomorrow? I would suggest to you to give all your worries into the mighty hands of Jesus. In exchange He will give you His peace and joy that this world cannot give. Psalmist says in Psa 118:24, “This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.” We also read in Phil 4:4, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” God wants us to rejoice in Him everyday and every moment of our lives. You may ask, how it is possible? When problems, tragedies or storms arise in our lives, how can we stay peaceful and joyous without losing our heart? Well, it is only possible if we have given all our worries into the mighty hands of God. In Isa 26:3 we read, “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.”

If our mind is stayed on Jesus and if we trust in Him, He will keep us in perfect peace – the peace that world cannot give.

Ministry is not a bed of roses 7

By Sheela Isaac

2 Tim 3:12, "Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution."

I have written earlier how we had gone through lot of trouble during the two years period. The fear of death was so great. It was hard to move outside the house freely. Whenever we looked outside we were seeing that there were ten to fifteen people roaming around. Those were the times when we really felt the need of help of others. We desired that somebody should have brought our grocery and helped us. But surprisingly during that period no one ever visited us including believers. My mom and I used to go to a near by shop to bring grocery and it was scary at times. We were so scared to move out thinking, "don't know whether anybody would kill us." At that time I was working and my office was nearby my house and it took only two minutes to reach there. But I was really scared to go to the office not knowing what would happen on the way to the office.

While sitting in the office also I prayed several times to protect my family and to keep them safe. I was worried thinking, "Do not know in what state my home will be when I return? Will I find everybody alive and well." We lived through it every day but God did not relieve us right away. But God allowed us to go through it so that we can see the great deliverance of God. It was really God who saved us during those times. If you trust God His protection will be always available for you. That is the beauty of a spiritual life.

The trouble continued for more than two years and one day the Lord said, "time has come for you to come out of your troubles, the people you see today you'll see them no more." We remembered the promise God had given to Moses saying, "the Egyptians you see today you will see them no more." Exo 14:13-14, "And Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you will see them no more forever. "The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace." When the Lord had given this promise we got some kind of assurance that our troubles were going to end soon and will be over. According to the said promise God really came to our rescue and the street began to look empty and deserted. The people who used to roam till morning to night in front of our house vanished suddenly. It was the time of rejoicing and great joy. We could see the great deliverance of God.

One day my brother told the whole story to a family friend. He gave us a piece of good advice. He said, "Never underestimate enemy as weak." If they have done it to you they will do it again. They might be pretending and keeping quiet for a while till you feel relaxed then they could attack you again. So be vigilant all the time." He was quite right. In the next three years we could perceive some attempts though it looked very insignificant. Well God gave us triumph over the impossible condition and the said trouble brought greater faith in our lives. After this experience whenever new troubles came we knew that God is able to deliver us from anything. Troubles and trials come in our life not to destroy us but to increase our faith and to develop trust in God.

After all these troubles we stayed in that place for four more years and could lead a normal life. The day came when we were at the airport to fly for USA. which I still remember. I felt very relaxed and happy. While I was at airport I took a deep breath of relief and memories of our days of trouble and fear passed through my mind. I thought, "now our problems are over and no one is going to threaten us here after. Now our lives are safe and secure and our troubles are over." I felt so good. Three years had passed adjusting to the new environment and among the new culture and it was a real happy time. Everything looked so good and we were excited. Then we started our new ministry. We began to send online magazine called "In search of peace" and after two years we began to send another newsletter called "CSI Newsletter" parallel to it. As soon as the ministry progressed the trouble also began. The sense of relaxation and security vanished. Many have tried to stop the Newsletter so that the true Gospel could not go out. Many threatening letters were received to stop it. Well, we continued believing that when God had given this ministry He is going to sustain us and God did sustain. As Gamaliel the teacher of the law and the Pharisee said, "if it is not from God it will automatically die down but if it is from God it would continue and you'll not be able to throw it away."

Acts 5:34 Then one in the council stood up, a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law held in respect by all the people, and commanded them to put the apostles outside for a little while.
Acts 5:35 And he said to them: "Men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what you intend to do regarding these men.
Acts 5:36 "For some time ago Theudas rose up, claiming to be somebody. A number of men, about four hundred, joined him. He was slain, and all who obeyed him were scattered and came to nothing.
Acts 5:37 "After this man, Judas of Galilee rose up in the days of the census, and drew away many people after him. He also perished, and all who obeyed him were dispersed.
Acts 5:38 "And now I say to you, keep away from these men and let them alone; for if this plan or this work is of men, it will come to nothing;
Acts 5:39 "but if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it; lest you even be found to fight against God."

No matter what the opposition comes in the ministry which God gives, will continue and nobody can stop it. If God had called you and given you any ministry don't be intimidated but keep on doing it and God who has called you will support you. Not only had they tried to stop it but also many attacks came upon us in various ways. Many times our life itself was in danger. But God had protected us and sustained us through every ordeal. A genuine ministry upholding Jesus is not an easy ministry. The Bible says, "Those who want to follow Christ will be persecuted." 2 Tim 3:12, "Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution." Persecution will surely come but those who endure till the end will make it to heaven and receive reward. Jesus never said that ministry will be easy but He promised provision, grace and sustenance. You might not be going though the type of persecution I am talking about but still you will have to go through different kinds of persecution when you minister. It could be financial crisis, it could be sickness, it could be fear, it could be various kinds of problems, it could be rejection, it could be opposition or it could be anything. Somebody said, "persecution makes or breaks." It is so true. It all depends how we handle persecution. God's grace is always available. So hang on there when trials come. Do not think of quitting but stay there and God's help will definitely come. One thing I know for sure is that He not only called us for the ministry but also sustained us through and delivered us several times. God is faithful and so when trouble comes hang on there and wait for His great deliverance. Let not persecution break you but it should make you a better person. Better in faith, better in fight, better in holiness, better in defense. The Bible says, "fight the good fight of faith and win it." 1 Tim 6:12, "Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses." Winning is the greatest thing rather than giving up. Let us fight the battle against Satan and win.

On the Cross

By Sherly Isaac

On the cross my Savior bled and died
To save me from sins
And from eternal punishment
How great His love is!

On the cross my Redeemer took
All my sins and guilt
To redeem me from hell fire
How great His love is!

On the cross my deliverer bore
All my grief and sorrow
To make me blessed and happy
How great His love is!

On the cross my Savior bled and died
He gave His all for me
To fill me with His blessing
How great His love Is!

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
