Jesus’ ministry was filled with power and might. When He was in this world, wherever He walked, wherever He went He healed people, He did mighty miracles. He wiped away tears of those who were mourning. He raised the dead, giving them life. He opened the eyes of the blind, gave hearing capability to those who were deaf and speaking ability to the mute. Wherever He went people rejoiced.

Many were astonished seeing those mighty miracles and said as in Mat 13:54, "Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works?” Jesus rebuked the evil spirits and cast them out and the people were very much amazed. We read in Mark 1:25-27, “But Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be quiet, and come out of him!" And when the unclean spirit had convulsed him and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him. Then they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, "What is this? What new doctrine is this? For with authority He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him."

Likewise once He was teaching in a synagogue and people were astonished at His teachings and marveled seeing mighty miracles which He performed as we read in Mark 6:2 And when the Sabbath had come, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, "Where did this Man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that such mighty works are performed by His hands!"

After all, what was the reason for His success in His ministry? Bible tells us in Acts 10:38 "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”

Two things we see in this verse.
1. Anointing of the Holy Spirit and
2. God was with Him

Jesus told His disciples in Acts 1:8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

Also Jesus said in Mark 16:17-18, "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

Second major thing in Jesus’ life was that, God was with Him. He spent hours and hours in prayer. Whenever He found time, He spent time with God. He also lived a life pleasing to God and no wonder God was with Him.

Yes, my friend, if you want a successful and powerful ministry, you need to have the anointing of the Holy Spirit. You also need to spend hours together in His presence, walking a straight walk with Him in holiness and in obedience.

Beware of Curse Placers

By Vinod Isaac

God has a plan and purpose for every single person. To some He calls to work in very difficult areas and to others in easy areas. To some He calls to sit with princess and presidents and kings and work with them and to others to sit with poor people and work among them.

Devil knows very well that he just needed to succeed in distracting a person from the calling which God has given to him/her. Devil tries very hard to carry out his goal. To do his tricks he brings many people across a believer's life. Some may be those who are very closely in association with them and some from outside.

Acts 21:10 And as we stayed many days, a certain prophet named Agabus came down from Judea.
Acts 21:11 When he had come to us, he took Paul's belt, bound his own hands and feet, and said, "Thus says the Holy Spirit, 'So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man who owns this belt, and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.'"
Acts 21:12 Now when we heard these things, both we and those from that place pleaded with him not to go up to Jerusalem.

In the above verses we see that Paul was told what will happen to him when he goes to Jerusalem. Probably Lord had already told Paul about it. There were many well wishers of Paul who didn't want him to go through trouble. So they pleaded with him not to go. But Paul was determined because God wanted him to testify in Rome too.

Acts 23:11 But the following night the Lord stood by him and said, "Be of good cheer, Paul; for as you have testified for Me in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at Rome."

And God wanted him to testify to Governor Felix, Festus, King Agrippa and Bernice and even before Caesar. So Paul stood firm and he went through trouble trying to accomplish what God had called him to do.

In the same way when Jesus said that He was going to suffer and to be crucified, Peter didn't like it and began to rebuke the Lord. And Jesus had to tell him that what he was saying is coming from the devil in order to distract him from the very plan of salvation.

Mark 8:31 And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
Mark 8:32 He spoke this word openly. And Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him.
Mark 8:33 But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying, "Get behind Me, Satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."

On the other hand when the Pharisees came and told Him that Herod wanted to kill Him, He said, "Go, tell that fox, 'Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today, tomorrow and the third day I shall be perfected.' In other words Jesus is saying, "till my time doesn't come to go to the cross even a king can not do any harm to me. I have more protection than a king can provide."

Luke 13:31 On that very day some Pharisees came, saying to Him, "Get out and depart from here, for Herod wants to kill You."
Luke 13:32 And He said to them, "Go, tell that fox, 'Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.'
Luke 13:33 "Nevertheless I must journey today, tomorrow, and the day following; for it cannot be that a prophet should perish outside of Jerusalem.

So when God calls you and gives you an assignment, He also gives you ability to do it. He also equips you. The whole heaven backs you up and gives you protection. He also provides all the resources that you need.

Well some people say that Christianity does not promise luxury. In other words Christians should be the poor people. Well such statements are being spoken because they have not read their Bible.

Jesus promised luxury more than what Solomon had.
Mat 6:29 "and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Mat 6:30 "Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

He confirms it again in Mat 6:33

Mat 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

Well, what did Solomon have?

2 Chr 9:20 All King Solomon's drinking vessels were gold, and all the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were pure gold. Not one was silver, for this was accounted as nothing in the days of Solomon.
2 Chr 9:21 For the king's ships went to Tarshish with the servants of Hiram. Once every three years the merchant ships came, bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and monkeys.
2 Chr 9:22 So King Solomon surpassed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

When you look back to Mat 6:29 you will find that Jesus was talking about giving more glory than what Solomon had.

Many times people say that Solomon fell into sin because of the wealth. But if you read the Bible you will find that Solomon didn't fall because of wealth but because of his marriage with foreign wives who brought curses and witchcraft from their homelands.

Also Bible is very clear that poverty is a curse. If you read Deu 28 chapter you can find many curses mentioned there and poverty is one of them.

Deu 28:20 "The LORD will send on you cursing, confusion, and rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings in which you have forsaken Me.
Deu 28:21 "The LORD will make the plague cling to you until He has consumed you from the land which you are going to possess.
Deu 28:33 "A nation whom you have not known shall eat the fruit of your land and the produce of your labor, and you shall be only oppressed and crushed continually.
Deu 28:34 "So you shall be driven mad because of the sight which your eyes see.

So when somebody tells you that Christians ought to be poor they are trying to place the curse of poverty on your life because the moment you accept poverty as coming from God you accept the curse of poverty. And the devil will surely come to steal your finances.

Many theologians preach that poverty is a blessing because they are taught that way and they sincerely believe in it while others are there who practice witchcraft and place curses in your life for which they do witchcraft and thus sell it in a nice package of a Christian message, because it is easy to place a curse when you accept that curse.

So the next time if some preacher says to you that poverty or sicknesses or problems are from the Lord, and if you accept it, you are inviting a curse, never ever do that. Two years back when my dad was sick, many said the same thing that it may be the will of the Lord but we knew that God didn't want him to die. So we fought tooth and nail. I am glad that we did that. Two years have passed when the doctors had given up hope for him. He is still doing well. Don't allow the devil to steal your blessings by surrendering to the devil. Also don't allow the devil to steal your destination and purpose.

May God bless you.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
