Once I was watching a documentary where a group of researchers were trying to install video camera on different animals over land and sea so that wherever these animals traveled, researchers could get pictures of those places. In that documentary they showed how they installed video camera on Elephants. They first shot Elephants with an anesthesia gun and install video camera above their neck and wait for them to wake up. Finally the moment came when one big elephant woke up. As soon as the elephant woke up, realizing that it was in enemy’s camp, it turned its face toward the person who was standing afar of and started to walk backwards. It kept facing the enemy and was prepared to handle any attack that would come from the enemy. The elephant was careful not to show its back. Showing back is a symbol of defeat.Bible also talks how we can face our enemy by putting on the whole armor of God. Eph 6:11, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”If you are a child of God, washed in the precious blood of Jesus, you are in constant spiritual war with the devil. Paul says in Eph 6:12, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”Further we read the list of armors of God that are given to born-again believers to fight against the devil and have a victorious life.Once a person got saved and started praying fervently. His church had hourly prayer schedule distributed among the church members. This person took his time from 3 to 4 in the morning. As he entered the church building to pray, he was attacked by the devil and his throat was chocked. He was so frightened that he left the thought of praying and ran out of the building. He thought in his mind that he would never return to pray again. As he came outside the building, he heard the clear voice from God saying, “There is no armor given for the backside.” Then only he realized that he has to face the enemy head on, face to face instead of showing his back. He sat for many more moments outside to find courage to go back again. He was frightened and yet he returned and prayed taking authority over the devil and within minutes he felt fear leaving him and a boldness filling his heart. He prayed in the same place many more days at the same time returning everyday with great boldness and fearlessness. He defeated the devil with his prayers.Are you a child of God, there is no turning back for you but God has given armors to fight the enemy face to face and defeat him. No matter what you are facing today, demonic powers, problems, evil addictions, depression, suicidal tendency, poverty… you name it all… can be defeated by the mighty power of God. You need not to bow out before the devil because Jesus has already defeated him and given him a black eye. You can too!
John 14:1-3, "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”Jesus was talking about His coming again the second time to this world in the above passage. Though we do not read the exact word “second coming” of Jesus in the whole Bible, yet there are passages in the Bible giving indications about His second coming. Some people think that Jesus has come once and until He comes again the second time, He will not show up in between in this world. But Jesus said in Mat 28:20, “…lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." There is no conflict in the Bible or in these passages. First time Jesus came in this world for a specific purpose and again He is going to come the second time with another specific purpose. It does not mean that He will not show up any time in this world in between His first and second coming. He is almighty God and He is omnipresent. He can be anywhere wherever He wants to be.I want you to come with me on a journey to see how Jesus came and walked with people time and time again. In the beginning God created Adam and Eve and put them in a garden. He used to visit them everyday and walked with them until they fell in sin and were separated from God. He walked with Abraham and talked to him often. He walked with Moses. When the Israelites came out of Egypt He walked before them in the form of a pillar and in the form of a cloud. When Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. were thrown into the fire, Jesus was with them in the midst of the fire. But when Jesus came the first time in this world, He had a very unique purpose. He came to restore the broken relationship of ours with God which was broken because of the disobedience of the first parents. When a person repents from his/her sins and turns to Jesus, his relationship with God gets restored. For this very purpose Jesus came the first time and He gave His precious life on the cross and shed His blood so that we could get forgiveness of our sins and could be reunited with God once again.When Jesus will come again second time, He will come with a special purpose. He said, “I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”He went to prepare a place for us so that where He is we could also be with Him eternally. His second coming is described in two phases in the Bible. He is coming to take those who are without sin and without any wrinkle or spot, a holy people. When He comes the second time, those who are dead will rise from the grave and they and those who are alive both will meet Him in the clouds. So how can a person live a holy life to meet Jesus when He comes again the second time? By the shed blood of Jesus one can get forgiveness of sin and reconcile with God and can lead a holy life. Let us be prepared to meet Jesus, if He comes today being holy and blameless. Let us be ready to go to heaven and be in fellowship with Him forever and forever.
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
