Solomon the son of David built the excellent, grandeur and magnificent temple of God. When all the work was finished, he gathered all the Israelites and elders to bring the Ark of the Covenant in this beautiful temple. There was a great feast. They were singing and praising God. And Bible says in 2 Chr 5:13-14, “indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying: "For He is good, For His mercy endures forever," that the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.”It was not the first time when this happened. Way back at the time of Moses it happened frequently when God’s glory filled the tabernacle built by Moses. I am thinking about the awesomeness of God from the last many months. It really amazes me that Moses, Solomon and others who were mere human beings like you and I, could behold the glory of God. How was it possible and is it possible today? In the same chapter we read in 2 Chr 5:11-12, “And it came to pass when the priests came out of the Most Holy Place (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, without keeping to their divisions), and the Levites who were the singers, all those of Asaph and Heman and Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, stood at the east end of the altar, clothed in white linen, having cymbals, stringed instruments and harps, and with them one hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets;”This verse tells us that all the priests who were present there had sanctified themselves. I believe that was the key, “the sanctification” because Bible tells us that without holiness no one can see God. Today also we can experience His holy presence in our lives if we are washed by the precious blood of Jesus. I am not talking about the so called “Christians”, but I am talking about a blood bathed child of God who has given his/her life to Jesus and walking in His ways.This Holy presence of God fills ones heart with great joy and rejoicing. This Holy presence of God gives protection in the same way how the Israelites experienced protection when the Egyptians were pursuing them. God stood between them and the Egyptians in the pillar of cloud and in the pillar of fire and enemy could not come near them. I know of one brother who is from the Muslim background who had accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. All his relatives stood against him and disowned him. His very life was threatened many times. He was beaten several times and many a times he was on his deathbed, but God miraculously saved his life. Once he and his family were fast asleep at night not knowing what their enemy had planned against them. At midnight those people who wanted to kill him came to his house. When they were afar away they saw that his house was fully illuminated and that armed guards were guarding the house. They waited for several hours expecting that the guards may leave his house, but to their surprise neither the guards left nor the lights went off. Having no other choice they left his home. Later on one of those people got converted and he told the story. The man of God was surprised hearing the story how awesome and mighty God is who sent His angels to guard his home and to protect him from unknown danger.Yes, God’s presence can do mighty and awesome deeds for you. If you are not a child of God this is the day of salvation, come to Jesus and give your life to Him. He will bless you.
When God was about to take Elijah into heaven, He commanded Elijah to go to Elisha and anoint him to succeed him as prophet. Later we see the mighty and awesome deeds done in Elisha’s ministry. Wherever Elisha went miracles happened. Wherever he asked God to do something it happened. At times he could see what was happening around him. For example, king of Syria was making war against Israel; and he consulted with his servants, saying, "My camp will be in such and such a place." And the man of God communicated the information to the king of Israel, saying, "Beware that you do not pass this place, for the Syrians are coming down there." Then the king of Israel sent someone to the place of which the man of God had told him. Thus he warned him, and he was watchful there, not just once or twice. Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was greatly troubled by this thing; and he called his servants and said to them, "Will you not show me which of you is for the king of Israel?" And one of his servants said, "None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.(2 Ki 6:8-12)"Once the Syrian army officer Naaman came to Elisha for getting healed of his leprosy. When he got healed, he returned to Elisha and tried to give some gifts to him but Elisha did not take the gifts. When Elisha’s servant saw that his master did not accept anything from Naaman, he did not like the idea. As soon as Naaman left Elisha’s place, he ran after him and asked for some gifts as we read in 2 Ki 5:22-24, And he said, "All is well. My master has sent me, saying, 'Indeed, just now two young men of the sons of the prophets have come to me from the mountains of Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two changes of garments.'" So Naaman said, "Please, take two talents." And he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and handed them to two of his servants; and they carried them on ahead of him. When he came to the citadel, he took them from their hand, and stored them away in the house; then he let the men go, and they departed.”Gehazi thought that no one will know about his misdeed but read what happened next in 2 Ki 5:25-26, “Now he went in and stood before his master. Elisha said to him, "Where did you go, Gehazi?" And he said, "Your servant did not go anywhere." Then he said to him, "Did not my heart go with you when the man turned back from his chariot to meet you? Is it time to receive money and to receive clothing, olive groves and vineyards, sheep and oxen, male and female servants?”Elisha’s heart went with Gehazi to see what he was doing. This is the power of omniscient God who allowed Elisha to see what was happening around him.One another incident written in 2 kings 6:11-20. When the Syrian king knew that it was Elisha who had revealed his plots to the king of Israel, he got very upset. Once he heard that Elisha was in Dothan. We read in 2 Ki 6:14-15, “Therefore he sent horses and chariots and a great army there, and they came by night and surrounded the city. And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, "Alas, my master! What shall we do?"Further we read in 2 Ki 6:1623, So he answered, "Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them." And Elisha prayed, and said, "LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see." Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the LORD, and said, "Strike this people, I pray, with blindness." And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. Now Elisha said to them, "This is not the way, nor is this the city. Follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom you seek." But he led them to Samaria. So it was, when they had come to Samaria, that Elisha said, "LORD, open the eyes of these men, that they may see." And the LORD opened their eyes, and they saw; and there they were, inside Samaria! Now when the king of Israel saw them, he said to Elisha, "My father, shall I kill them? Shall I kill them?" But he answered, "You shall not kill them. Would you kill those whom you have taken captive with your sword and your bow? Set food and water before them, that they may eat and drink and go to their master." Then he prepared a great feast for them; and after they ate and drank, he sent them away and they went to their master. So the bands of Syrian raiders came no more into the land of Israel.”This is the awesome power of God which worked through Elisha. How was it possible? The reason was because God’s spirit rested on Him. God anointed him and used him for His glory.These awesome deeds did not die down in Old Testament but it continued in New Testament also. About Jesus Bible says in Acts 10:38 "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”Wherever Jesus went miracles happened. Wherever He went, He consoled people, wiped away their tears, healed their sicknesses, raised people from dead and met their needs. This same Jesus gave His power to His disciples and told them to go to the world and do the same as He did. In Mark 16:15-18 we read, And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." Also in Mat 10:1, “And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.”You can see that miracle days are not over but Jesus gave power to His disciples to do awesome miracles that were visible through all the disciples in the New Testament. Today also God wants to entrust His awesome power His disciples Will you come forward to take His awesome power and go to the world with the might and power of Jesus Christ to trample the serpents and scorpions and deliver those who are in bondage of satan?
I sent out an e-mail about two weeks ago. I asked for people to pray for me in regards to God’s will and guidance, revelation and Holy Spirit to move. I want to thank you all, because since you have all prayed for me, the Lord has done SOOOOO much! He has restored musical gifts I had lost, clarified the direction he wanted me to go in ministry, he restored broken friendships, gave me a better relationship with the Spirit, he’s cleared my name against lies and slander against me, he has done just so much, God is amazing. I would like you to continue to ask God to work in my life, and guide me, and provide for me in the path he wants me to go in music.
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
