Are we ready to meet our Creator if we die today?

The terrorist attack last week at Mumbai is a grim reminder of the evil nature in the human soul. One couple who survived after the Mumbai terrorist attack told that when they were hiding in the chambers at the basement of the kitchen, they decided to separate from each other so that at least one of them could survive for their kids. Later on both of them survived and the lady said with tears in her eyes that she did this for the sake of her kids because she never thought that she could come out alive. That is the love of a mother and of a father. In that drastic situation when their own survival was at stake, they thought about their kids and tried to do what was necessary for their kids.Do you know what, there is a Heavenly Father who cares for us more than our earthly parents. About 2000 years ago He came to this world just to save us from hell fire. He loved us so much that He did not care about all the insults, all the pain, all the sufferings and even the cruel death he had to bear. The love in His heart broke all barriers and He came in this world and was even ready to do everything just for us to see that we are in heaven.When He was born, there was no place for Him. He was laid in a manger. The creator of the whole universe had no place to lie down but He chose to become poor for us. He chose the way of sufferings and ultimate sacrifice so that we could have peace with God. He gave His precious life for us and shed His blood on the cruel cross so that we could have eternal life. That is the love of God for the dying humanity. That is the love of God for you and me. He did everything and gave Himself for our salvation. If you pickup a newspaper or watch TV News, you will find people dying everywhere. It is hard to believe that still many think and live as if they have to live in this world forever. It is bitter truth that one day everyone has to die. Yes, Death is inevitable. But the question remains, where would you be when you are dead, in heaven or in hell? Are you ready to meet the creator as soon as you die? We cannot enter into heaven or we cannot see God with all our sins in our lives. Jesus said in Mat 5:8, "Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God." Our hearts become pure when we allow Jesus to cleanse us from our sins. 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." If you have not yet met Jesus personally, I invite you to come and meet the Savior of the world who will gladly take away your sins and will give you eternal life, a life that will never fade away, a life that is full of peace and joy.
Adopted in the Family...
Back in India there was a stray cat that often showed up in our backyard. One day it brought six kittens. Those tiny playful kittens enjoyed in our yard. They would play there and sleep in the flowerpots. But about a week later we noticed that the mother cat was no longer coming and those little kittens were looking frightened, tired and hungry. Finally we decided to feed them. They were happy to find food. Every day they would come to our kitchen door looking for food. For many days they lived in the backyard outside of our house but as the rainy season came, they entered inside of our home and they became part of our family.When they came inside of our home they needed to learn how to live in our home. Their hard training started so that they may not mess around. In no time they learned to live in discipline. Even at times milk and other edibles were left on the table but they never tried to eat it. They learned to live according to the rules of our house.Often people think that once they are saved, they need not to worry about anything and that all their present and future sins are also forgiven along with their past sins. But Bible does not support this idea. Instead the Bible tells that when we are saved we were adopted in the family of God. John 1:12-13, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." Adoption does not mean that the adopted child will start doing everything according to the family tradition as soon as he/she was adopted. But it takes time to learn the rules of that house. In the same way when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior we belong to the family of God but we have to learn everyday how to live and how to behave with in the family of God and how to reflect God's family values through our lives. Apostle Paul writes in Heb 12:6-11, "For whom the LORD loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives." If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it."If you are a child of God, He will teach you how to walk in His ways. As much as we yield to His word we can manifest His nature through our lives and we can live a holy life as He is holy. More than that if we holdfast to His teachings we will ultimately reach heaven.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 13th Apr. 2010
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 13th Apr. 2010
