Bible tells us that the Israelites were in Egypt. When they were in their darkest hour God raised a deliverer called Moses. The reason was that when Pharaoh the king of Egypt saw them becoming mighty, he oppressed them. The story of Moses and his upbringing is amazing. He was born in the home of a Hebrew a Levite. But because of the rule of that land as they could not hide him more than three months, they made a basket, put him in that basket, and let it go in the Niles River. And it happened that Pharaoh's daughter came for taking bath and spotted the basket. She took him out and raised him as her own son.Moses grew in the King's palace, enjoyed every royalty and the luxurious living in the palace. He was acquainted in all the wisdom of the Egyptians as we read in Acts 7:22 "And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and deeds." The same Moses who enjoyed every luxury in the palace of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt realized that his own people were in trouble and were suffering. He wanted to help the people of God as we read in Bible Heb 11:24-27, "By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible."Moses realized that everything that is in this world is passing away but only that which is done for God abides forever. As we read in Bible 1 John 2:17, "And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever." So Moses chose God and His will over the pleasures of this world. He refused to live in sin and also refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter. I believe that he did so because they were pagan nation where they did not give glory to the living God. Moses discovered and held fast his eyes on the things which is eternal and not perishing. Today also God wants us to come out of the sins of this world and live according to His will and purpose. God has created each and every person to live for His glory and to fulfill His purpose. We need to discover that purpose in our lives and we need to walk in His will. It could cost you everything, even this world may not appreciate your walking with God, but in Luke 10:41-42, Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her."When you choose Jesus to become your Lord and Savior, that will be the best decision you would ever take. That one decision is worth more than the whole world's money, diamond, gold, silver and any precious thing on this world. Because Jesus died for our sins on the cruel cross and purchased pardon for our sins and there is no other way to get rid of our sins except the blood of Jesus. We only have to receive His free gift in our lives by inviting Jesus as our Lord and Savior. The moment you do it, you will become a child of God and eternal life would be yours.
Read in English Part 1 | 2 | 3 Read in Malayalam Part 1 | 2 | 3 | 4When these thoughts were ruling in my heart, I heard the call for prayer from the Mosque reminding that it was time for prayer. I thought, "when I go and pray the Muslim prayer, I will be getting peace." There are prayers five times in a day and every time call for prayer comes from the Mosque I would pray. After making all the preparations to recite the prayer. I entered in my prayer room. Though I entered my prayer room, I could not get any peace. In Quran it is written that the recitation should be with concentration, that there should not be any other thought in the mind of the person who recites, that several Surahs (verses) have to be recited at the time of prayer with one mind, with the right intonation, and the correct rhythm and pronunciation, that the recitation should not be heard outside. It is also written that if the above said guidelines were not followed, then Allah would not accept that prayer and also that he would punish those who do not recite properly. These things are taught in Quran.But when I started reciting, the order in which Surahs should be recited went wrong. What I should have recited at the end, I recited in the beginning, and which should be recited at the first, I recited at the end, what is needed to be recited while bending down, I did it earlier, what required at the time of sitting down I recited in the middle. Likewise the whole sequence was messed up. I was unable to do in the correct order and I was not able to pray. I was completely terrified. I tried six times over and over again to do everything in the correct order. There is a book called prayer order, I brought it out and tried to read from it and tried to recite in the correct sequence and still I could not do it in order. I was completely terrified thinking, "oh, what is happening to me? This was not a matter which I learnt just one time some day in my life time so that I could not bring it back to my memory. This was what I was reciting five times in a day, which I was doing from the age of seven, which I had even recited correctly on the same day morning, which I could recite even if I was asked in sleep, I started feeling that there must be some kind of power working behind it. I knelt down on my knees, raised both my hands towards heaven and said like this, "Allah, I do not have peace, I am feeling restless, now I do not have the ability to worship you. It is for you that my father had dedicated me. My life is completely for you. But I do not have the assurance that you are my Lord. Now if you bring me to that assurance and to that peace I will never again doubt you and I will give my whole life for you. No matter what happens, I will serve you. While saying like this and sitting on my knees with closed eyes, I felt as if a powerful wind blowing and entering in my room. As the wind was blowing, I felt as if the walls of my room shaking, the glasses of windows were shaking, hitting each other and making big noise. The place where I was sitting was vibrating violently and my whole body was shaking. I was thrown away and fell down on the floor. I thought it would have been an earthquake. When I opened my eyes, I saw great light brighter than the shining sun was filled in my room. Jesus Christ who lives in unapproachable light His presence came down in my room. But I did not recognize Him as Jesus. In one look I beheld a beautiful man's figure in the midst of bright light. But I could not see Him clearly because He was covered with bright light. I was unable to capture that image because the bright light was blinding my eyes. I covered my eyes with my hands. At that moment my fingers were shaking. I felt as if all my bones were running like water. Just like cotton moves in the direction of wind, all my strength was gone and I collapsed on the floor. I became like numb. Then I thought, will it be the presence of Allah? I called out my Rab, Rehman who are you and what is this? My cry was not coming out of my mouth because there was no voice. Suddenly I heard a voice, "I am Jesus Christ who died for you on the cross, kneel down at my feet." In the presence of that voice, I was thrown and fell down again. I said, "Jesus, my father dedicated me for Allah but now I am giving my father's vow to you. I am even ready to die for you. Because those children who are dedicated for Allah, those vows end with the death of a sacrifice. But vows would be taken and children would be dedicate for the work of Mosque but they don't do sacrifice. Because they believe that Abraham sacrificed his son Ishmael and they do it in remembrance of it. But I said, Lord, I am dedicating this vow in front of you. Though I did not know how to say that time yet I said, "if I has to die for you still I will live for you. I will stand for your name." And I dedicated my life at that moment and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. When I was dedicating myself that time I had an experience of a different kind of power coming over me from my head to toe and covering me. And I felt as if something left me. Because of it a great faith and courage came in my life and I experienced of getting knowledge and wisdom. An unspeakable boldness ruled over my life. Please read Part 5
Jer 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.Psa 50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.God of the Bible says, 'call unto me and I will answer you.' Yes He hears our prayers when we call upon Him. Every time when you come at His feet with certain prayers, He always answers it. Many times we don't see our prayers being answered; the reason behind it is that the prayers you have offered may not be according to God's will or if it is not the right prayer, He would not answer it. Another reason is that God might have heard your prayers, but the right time has not yet come. That's why you would not see the answer at the time you desire but it would come when God's perfect time arrives. In recent years I have prayed many prayers and to my surprise 99% of prayers were answered almost immediately. Why no answer for that 1% of prayer? I am sure God had heard those prayers but the right time has not yet come for them. God has not denied those prayers but there is a delay in it. It means that it is in the line (queue) and waiting for the right time to come. God always answers prayer: Yes, it is God's will to answer prayers. That is why He says, 'call upon me in the day of trouble or call unto me and I will answer thee.' We need to remember always that God really wants to answer prayers but when? When you pray to Him, when you are really interested in surrendering your life into the safe hands of Jesus. Many times we don't do our homework right. Many times we don't pray before going out from our home. That's why we get into trouble and then begin to think, "Why God has done this to me? Why He was not there to protect me?" Don't you think like this many times when things go very wrong? It happens because you have not prayed before starting a new work or before going out of your home. Many times we forget that God is not a controller but He is very gentle. He doesn't intervene until and unless we ask for His intervention and protection in our lives. If you do not want God in your matters in life, He would not stick His head in it because He has given us freewill. For example if you have not invited your friend in your wedding or party, he will not forcefully come as an un-invited guest. The same thing is here; if you have not invited Jesus to help you out, He will not forcefully come as an intruder. Many times things go wrong in our lives because we don't allow Him to come and help us. Many times we fail to tell Him beforehand that we need His help and protection.When I came to USA, immediately on arriving I figured out that I needed to know how to drive a car since it is a necessity. If you don't know how to drive, during winter months, if you want to go out for work or anywhere, it is pretty hard to walk a block or two in harsh winter to catch the bus/train and then waiting fifteen to twenty minutes for bus or train. I wanted to learn driving, but was really scared to drive. Finally I learned driving and got my license, but was scared to death whenever I thought of driving the car. Whenever I had to drive and when my brother was not coming with me, I was shivering in my shoes due to fear. Whenever I heard the news about accidents and deaths it scared me more. But I knew one thing how to tackle this problem. Every single time when I had to go out, first I prayed to know the will of the Lord. Some times He said, no and I do not know why. I might never know the reason but only God knew it. Every time when He said its ok to go out, I prayed like this, "Lord Jesus, please come with me; if you are with me, I know that I will always be safe, please give me wisdom to drive safely." He always did it. As time passed, my fear of driving left me and now I feel very comfortable and relaxed but still I never forget to ask the counsel of Jesus first. That is the key of your safety. You know how the world is getting more and more dangerous as every day is passing by. We often hear about terrorist attacks, roadside shootings, gang related shootings, shootings in malls. We do not know when danger would be lurking around us but if we know how to pray and ask for protection from Jesus, these types of situations can be avoided. If you pray beforehand, He would say not to go out or not to go in such and such place and He will guide you. Why God does not answer prayers:Many times things go wrong because God cannot come come to a particular place because He is holy. Many times God does not answer prayers since it is not according to His will. We should not forget that God is holy and He can't come in unholy places or get involved in unholy things. You certainly can't invite Him when you are doing drinking parties and getting heavily drunk and doing all kinds of rubbish things. You can't expect that God would come with you in nightclubs or such parties. You certainly can't invite Him when you are watching filthy movies. You certainly can't expect God's protection when you are driving drunk. You can't expect Him when you are involved in illegal and unholy things. God would not answer such prayers. Psalms 91 always works:God given promises in the Bible which always works. When you claim the promises of God, it always brings result.Psa 17:8 Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,Psalmist knew God's protection in his life. That's why he could sing about God's greatness in Psalm 91. If you look in the verses you'll find how he was praising God for His goodness. He knew that God is able to protect him from the snares of the fowler or enemies or deadly sicknesses. Psa 91:2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.Psa 91:3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.When we claim these promises of God it brings victory in our lives. I remember there was an year when Tv news said, "this year we are facing deadlier flu season than normal and general flu medications are not working." Then I began to hear so and so had high fever with flu and was hospitalized. It was the scariest season for us. If you don't have medical insurance and if you get hospitalized then you will get bill of thousands of dollars to pay. That was the season when I really claimed Psalm 91 verse 3. Psa 91:3, "Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence." Every time we were in public place and heard people coughing. I claimed more often Psalm 91. Many people known to us were hospitalized that season with flu but to my surprise none of us got flu that year. Yes God's promises always works. Bible has hundreds of such promises. That's why we need to claim God's promises (Bible verses) more often to see results. God's promises always bring results when we claim it we see the results.

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
