“As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the LORD surrounds His people From this time forth and forever”(Psa 125:2).There is a God who promised protection for His children. Throughout the history of Israel we read how God stretched forth His mighty hands and protected His people. In times of trouble, in times of dangers He stood around them as a mighty mountain so that enemy could not reach His people. When God brought the Israelites out of Egypt they faced untold dangers. The Egyptian army followed them. The Israelites were not yet prepared for war because all their lives they were slaves making bricks. When they saw the Egyptian army who were following them, they were devastated. Seeing certain death in front of them, they cried out. And God came for their rescue. God stood between the Israelites and the Egyptian army in a pillar of fire and pillar of cloud. No matter how hard they tried to take over the Israelites, they could not reach near them. But ultimately the mighty hands of God destroyed the Egyptian army. When God Himself fights for His children, who can win fighting against Him? Bible says in Deu 3:22, 'You must not fear them, for the LORD your God Himself fights for you.'In Zec 2:8 we read, ‘For thus says the LORD of hosts: "He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.”’ I would say that it is not a good idea to touch the apple of God’s eye. It will destroy your own life.Not only God protected them from Egyptian army but also from scorching heat of desert, fiery serpents, scorpions and wild animals. He led them, provided for them and took care of them.The same protection was with David, the young shepherd who loved the Lord with all his heart. But a day came in his life when the King of Israel became his enemy and sought after his life. King Saul set out in search of him wherever he could. He Even put all his force, time and resources to search David. Many a times he reached very near to David and his camp. But God never allowed him to catch David. Every time He protected David so that his enemy could not destroy his life. This is the mighty God in whom all the prophets as well as the ordinary people of the Bible trusted and He came for their rescue without fail. The same God is ready to protect us from all our enemies. When Jesus was in this world, people sought everyday to kill Him but they could not. Once some Pharisees came to Him and said, 'king Herod wants to kill you', but Jesus replied that no one could cut short His life before His time of death comes. We read in Luke 13:31-32, ‘On that very day some Pharisees came, saying to Him, “Get out and depart from here, for Herod wants to kill You. And He said to them, "Go, tell that fox, 'Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.”'Are you a child of God? Have you given your life to Jesus, He will protect you and no enemy could kill you and cut short your life. In fact God will surround you as a high mountain and will protect you from the reach of the enemy.
Gen 6:5-6, "Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart."Bible says that God created the human beings in His own likeness and in His own image. Gen 1:27, "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." We can see a great contrast in the way how God created. God did not create everything in this universe by the same procedure. When God created sun, moon, stars, light, rivers, animals and plants He simply said, "Let it be" (Genesis chapter 1) and it turned out to be so. But when God created humans He took special interest. He did not just say, "Let it be" but He formed the man out of the dust of the ground and breathed in him His own breath. Gen 2:7, "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being." That's why human beings have a special place in God's heart. That was why when Adam sinned and fell, in order to save the fallen mankind, God took drastic step and did not hesitate to send His own son (Jesus) to die on the cruel Cross. That is the love of God. You and I, mere humans can't understand the depth of that great love. See how intensely God loved us, but we humans love to fall in sin over and over again. Adam and Eve simply disobeyed God and lost fellowship with God. This cycle is being repeated continuously from that time onwards. Humans appear to be experts in practicing the same evil time and time again. As soon as Adam and Eve, the first parents slipped into sin disobeying God's command, right away sin and evil entered into this world. No one can imagine that Cain, the son of Adam would commit murder but he committed it anyway. He killed his own brother Abel and thought that no one will find it. Gen 4:8 Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.Gen 4:9 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Where is Abel your brother?" He said, "I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?"Gen 4:10 And He said, "What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries out to Me from the ground.Gen 4:11 "So now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand."Whenever I read these above mentioned verses it really surprises me. Not only did he kill his brother but also gave a very cunning reply to God saying, "am I my brother's keeper." This itself shows how evil the human heart can be. That's why God felt sorry after creating the humans. KJV Bible says, "God repented after creating humans because of their wickedness." A few years back, the sex scandal of child abuse by the priests of Catholic churches rocked the whole of US. It was quite shameful and shocking that priests who are supposed to be holy and to be a roll model for the public, committed this heinous crime. The priests who were ordained to bring good news of the Gospel and to bring goodness and high moral values in society worked right against it. We see that ordination did not change them and it did not eradicate the evilness of their heart.Couple of years back a church pastor circulated a very nasty email with the help of a group of people. This email had death threat for his own congregation member. The contents and wordings of that email was so shamefully nasty that showed how low a priest could go down. The most surprising aspect of this incidence was that no one ever condemned it but instead many of the people appreciated and supported it. No one had the courage and guts to stand to the face of evil and say, "it is wrong it is sin." The group of people who were involved in it where highly educated people but they also had no courage to say to the pastor that they don't want to get involved in such heinous mission. That's what evilness does to one. The said pastor might never have thought about eternity and life after death. He might have never realized that he could be a heartbeat away from his final destination and eternity. No one knows when life will end. If a person even after spending sixty and seventy years of his life on this earth refuses to repent and turn around from his/her evil ways then I do not know when he/she is going to start thinking about it. See high education doesn't change the evilness of heart. Ordination does not change the evil heart either. Being born in a Christian home neither changes you. But only repentance from sin and turning to Jesus, changes an evil heart. Only the precious blood of Jesus has the ability to wash us clean. What can wash away my sin, nothing but the blood of JesusWhat can make me whole again, nothing but the blood of JesusThere is another beautiful song I love, it says,There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Emmanuel's veins; and sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains. (3)and sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains. Oh precious is the flow thatmakes me white as snowNo other fount I knowNothing but the blood of Jesus There is nothing but the blood of JesusYes nothing can cleanse us from sin and change our evil heart, but only the precious 'Blood of Jesus' could. Jesus came into this world with the very same purpose. He took the sins of the whole human race upon Him and died on behalf of us. He died so that we may not to lose eternal life. He died so that we may not burn in hell fire for eternity. The Bible says that hell will burn with brimstone and fire and the fire will never quench. This is a very horrible place and Jesus does not want any of His creation going there. It is so serious; if not Jesus would never have left His comfort and heavenly abode. Are you willing to get rid of this horrible place? Are you willing to receive this free gift of Salvation today? Do you want to escape hell? Jesus paid the full price for our redemption on Calvary's cross. The gift of salvation is indeed Free, but we must not forget that though it is 'FREE' it is not 'CHEAP'. God just does not throw away the free gift of salvation to anybody who is not willing to receive it. Please remember always that God does not give this free gift to each and every one neither does He choose people. He does not decide who should get and who should not but it is you and I who choose whether we want it or not. It is you and I who have to decide where we want to spend our eternity, with Jesus in heaven or with the devil in hell. So you receive this free gift only when you long for it, when you cry for it, and when you really beg for it with great willingness. If you are not asking for it you will not get it that is so plain and simple. Receiving this free gift of Salvation is pretty easy. Are you willing to grab it right now? If yes let's pray a simple prayer and ask Jesus for it.Lord Jesus, I believe that you died for me on the Cross. Lord I fully believe that you are capable to pull me out from hell fire. Lord I believe that you are the son of God. I believe that your precious blood can cleanse all evilness of mine. Lord I need you. Please come into my heart. Forgive and forget all my evil deeds. Forgive and forget all my sin. Wash away all my sins in your precious blood. Please make me a new creation today. I repent from all my sins. I accept you as Lord of my life. I surrender my whole life at your feet. Please cleanse me Lord and make me your child. Thank you so much for hearing this prayer. Thank you Lord for changing my life. I pray in Jesus name. Amen

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month.
