By Sherly Isaac

In the Bible we read about a woman named Naomi. She and her family moved to Moab when there was famine in the land of Bethlehem, Judah. She had everything in her life and her husband and two sons were with her. Her husband died there. Both of her sons grew and they took wives from Moab. They lived there for ten more years. But when time passed, both of her sons died also. She was left with her two daughters-in-law to live in that foreign land.

One day she decided to go back to her own country because she heard that famine was over there. She started her journey with her two daughters-in-law. She persuaded both of them to leave her and to go back to their own homes. But they followed her. After repeated suggestions by Naomi, one of her daughters-in-law left her. She said to Ruth who still remained with her to go back to her relatives, but Ruth's answer was, (Ruth 1:16), "Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God."

Ruth did not know what was laid in her future and what would be the cost of her decision in following Naomi and her God, yet she followed her. When Naomi and Ruth reached Bethlehem, the Bible says that all the city was excited because of them; and the women said, "Is this Naomi?" I don't know why the whole city was excited? She and her husband might have been prominent and famous in that land. When people got excited to see her, she said to them in," Ruth 1:20-21, "Do not call me Naomi; call me Mara, for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me. I went out full, and the LORD has brought me home again empty. Why do you call me Naomi, since the LORD has testified against me, and the Almighty has afflicted me?"

When she went to a foreign land, she was full, she was happy and blessed but now she came back empty and hopeless. Her future appeared to be bleak and her heart was full of pain and sorrow.

But there is a God who loves us and cares for us. He had a better plan for Naomi. In this new land Ruth not only got a new job but also a wealthy husband. Naomi's tears turned into joy, her life was no longer in sorrow. When she held the boy of Ruth and Boaz in her hands, her heart was rejoicing and she was praising God for the mighty and awesome deeds He did for her. God Himself wiped away all her tears. There was no way for her to see this awesome day but the mighty power of God made it possible. Her hopes became alive again. All her bitterness turned into sweetness.

The same God who filled Naomi's empty life with fullness of joy, the same God who turned Naomi's sorrows into great joy can do the same for you. Do you think that your dreams are dead? Do you think that your future is over? Do you think that you have lost all your hopes? Look to Jesus. He can give you new hope and He can turn your situation around. If you give your life to Jesus, He will turn everything around. Things which are naturally impossible will be possible again with the mighty power of God.

Now I am going to pray for you: Lord Jesus I pray for every person reading this message, please touch them and turn their situations around. Let them see a mighty miracle in their lives. Whatever is impossible in their lives, please turn it to possibility. Father, wipe away their tears and fill them with a new hope and new blessings, this very moment. Thank you Jesus for listening to our prayers and answering it. We give you all the glory. In the mighty and unfailing name of Jesus we pray this prayer, Amen.

Do what Jesus did

By Sheela Isaac

Mathew 10:1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

When Jesus called His twelve disciples, what He did was to give them power over unclean spirits and over all manners of sicknesses. We find that Jesus did two main missions when He was in this world and He commanded the disciples to do the same what he did. What are they?

1. Preach Repentance:
Jesus called His disciples and commanded them to preach, that the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Mat 10:7 "And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand."

Jesus had preached the same thing. Mathew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. He preached repentance and forgiveness of sin. He said, 'unless you repent you'll perish.' Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Yes repentance of sin is very important. Without repentance there is no forgiveness of sin and without forgiveness of sin, one cannot enter into heaven. The same thing Jesus said to Nicodemus. He was a scholar and a priest at Jesus' time. When he came to meet Jesus, Jesus said these things. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Jesus preached it:
Look in the Bible how important it is, that's why Jesus preached it. Mathew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

John preached it:
Mathew 3:1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
Mathew 3:2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Disciples of Jesus preached it:
Mark 6:12 And they went out, and preached that men should repent.
Mark 6:13 And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.

Repentance from sin is very important. You and I need it. If you are born in a Christian home still you need it. You might be a church goer but still you need it. You might be a scholar of Bible but still you need it. If forgiveness of sin was not needed, then Jesus would have known it and He would not have told His disciples to preach it neither would He have preached it with so much emphasis. If salvation could have been earned by being born to Christian parents, then Jesus would not have told it. If salvation could be earned by infant baptism Jesus would not have told it. Since an infant can't repent from his/her sin, he/she can't earn a place in heaven. According to Bible, every person who are born in this world need salvation and the procedure to obtain salvation is the same for everyone regardless of cast creed, color or religion. God is not a God of partiality and He has not created different ways for different people. That's why Jesus said in, Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." You might hear different kind of arguments from different people or groups, but what the Bible says is authentic and we need to follow what Jesus had said. If you follow the advice of people or of any particular group you might fall, but if you follow Jesus and the word of God "Bible" you will always find the right path.

2. Heal the sick:
Mat 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

This is the second commandment Jesus gave to His disciples. He said, 'heal the sick, cleanse the leper, raise the dead, cast out devils.' He gave them power to do mighty miracles, signs and wonders. It looks that when Jesus called His disciples, He told them not only to preach repentance and forgiveness of sin, but He also gave them authority and power to perform miracles.

Look at the life of Jesus, He performed mighty miracles and healed all kinds of sicknesses. People thronged in large numbers and followed Him to receive healing and deliverance from sicknesses. Jesus healed the sick, opened blind eyes, raised the dead, cleansed the leper and did many great miracles.

Bible says that the disciples of Jesus could also do the same mission what Jesus had done. They could bring healing and deliverance in the lives of people as well. One side they had preached repentance and salvation and the other side people were getting healed through their ministry. If you look at the life of Peter, when he preached, hearing his one sermon 3,000 people had repented from their sin. Acts 2:38-41, "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls."

Not only that, but people were healed through his ministry and mighty miracles took place including the healing of the lame man who was in the gate called "beautiful" who walked. We must not forget that Peter was not a learned man but was just a fisherman. He had no power of his own but whatever he could do was because of what he received from Jesus.

Acts 3:2,3 & 6-9 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

We need to think ourselves what kind of ministry are we doing? Are we able to preach what Jesus had commanded us to do? Are we able to obey what Jesus had said in the Bible? Are we preaching repentance and forgiveness of sin? If not, why are we not preaching it since it's an important command from Jesus. For this, you need to ask one more question to yourself, am I saved myself to preach the Gospel? If you have never repented from your sin and had never received forgiveness of your sin you are not eligible to preach the Gospel of redemption in the first place. If you are not yet saved, your ministry will not bring any fruit and it would be a waste of time. You might be wasting your own time and of others since no one is getting saved. We don't need big degrees and skills to preach the Gospel but we need the real calling in our life. If God had not ordained you for preaching, then your ministry is useless. You need to ask yourself this question first. Has God really called me for ministry? If He has, He will give you authority and power to do His work. Your ministry will bring lost souls into the kingdom of God and not only that people will receive healing and deliverance from their sicknesses and problems. If you are in Lord's ministry the second question you need to ask to yourself is, "am I doing what Jesus and His disciples did?" Do I see miracles and healings through my ministry? Am I preaching healing and deliverance along with the Gospel of salvation? If not why? Do I see anybody getting healed? If Jesus had called you, He must have given you power and authority to perform miracles and healings. Because the Bible clearly says that when Jesus had called His disciples He gave them power over unclean spirits and all kinds of sicknesses. In fact He commanded them to heal the sick and cleanse the leper and to raise the dead. If you are not doing what Jesus had commanded to do, you are accountable before Him and one day He'll require an account for your every action.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to pray for you. If you think you need Jesus in your life and you need a place in heaven you can pray this prayer with me from the bottom of your heart.

Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. I know that my life is not right before you. I know that I am not ready to go to heaven yet. Please forgive and forget my sin. Please come into my heart and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Wash me with your precious blood. I know that your precious blood can cleanse me from all my sin and sinful desires. Please come into my heart Lord. Today I accept you as my Lord and Savior. I pray in Jesus name Amen.

Now I am going to pray for healing and deliverance from all kinds of sicknesses. Lord Jesus whatever sickness they have please stretch forth your healing hand and heal them Lord. Please touch them with your nail pierced hand and heal them. I rebuke every sickness in Jesus name. Receive your healing right now in Jesus name. If you have arthritis Jesus is healing you. I command arthritis to leave their bodies in Jesus name. Receive your healing from arthritis in Jesus name. Let diabetes vanish away in Jesus name. Be healed from diabetes in Jesus name. Receive your healing from diabetes in Jesus name. Thank you Lord for healing these precious people. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
