Jesus said in John 15:4-7, "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you."These are the words of Jesus who said that without abiding in Him we cannot do anything. When Jesus was in this world, He showed the great example of being one with Father in heaven. He often looked towards heaven and spoke to the Father, He often took bread and looking towards heaven, thanked God, He often said, 'I only do what I see my Father doing.' He had a constant communication with the Father. If not, He could never have done what He did while walking on this world. And Jesus was telling His disciples that 'unless you have a close walk with me, unless you know what I want, unless you have deep communicative relationship with me', you cannot do anything. I was watching news in TV and there was the strange news that, "Northwest Airlines flight missed Minneapolis by 150 miles while the pilots slept". What happened was that the flight went ahead of Minneapolis by 150 miles. They had to fly back and about 78 minutes later they landed on the ground. The aviation expert said that pilots should have to be in constant contact with control tower. If they are not in contact even for ten minutes it could be too late and they can come in trouble.I think that our spiritual lives are also like that. If we are not in constant contact with our Lord and Savior, we are in trouble. The question of doing for God is not even in the table if we are not in a relationship with God. This relationship begins when a person acknowledges that he can by no means achieve salvation of his soul by his own effort, but only by the shed blood of Jesus inviting Jesus to become his Lord and Savior. That is the beginning of a new relationship between God and man. This relationship grows more and more as he tries to spend time in the presence of God by reading His word and spending time in prayer. The real question is, have you ever come into a relationship with God? As the Bible tells us in John 1:12-13, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." Have you ever become the child of God? If not your relationship with God has not yet started. Come to Jesus, repent from your sins and ask Him to come into your life. When He comes in, He will give you a new life and make your life a blessed one. It is like a stem grafted in a plant which gets new life as the new life flows into that stem from the plant in which it was grafted. If you cut a stem and throw it outside, it will just die and will do nothing but when it is grafted to a plant, it will have life and it will bear fruit.
Gen 5:28-29, " Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years, and had a son. And he called his name Noah, saying, "This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD has cursed."Genesis 5th chapter is a sad chapter, it is also known as graveyard chapter of the Bible. This chapter tells about people dying one after another which was the result of the sin of Adam and Eve. As they fell from grace death and destruction came in this world and people started to die. Lamech was of eighth generation from Adam and according to genealogy it seems that Adam was still alive during the first 50 years of his life. Most probably Lamech might have seen Adam, Eve and their children dying one after another. We all know how heart breaking it is to see loved one dying and how hopeless and how tragic death is. There is no comparison to the pain and sorrow of death.When a son was born to Lamech and when he held the baby boy in his hands, he could have foreseen what the end of that child would be like. He said, "This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD has cursed."The birth of Noah brought hope in the life of Lamech that he will bring comfort and rest from the toil and hardship. Also at that time when Jesus was born in this world, the angels sang in Luke 2:14, "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!" Yes, Jesus came in this world to give us peace, rest and goodness in our lives and to remove the hopeless and helpless situations from our lives. He is ready to give us a new and blessed life if we just come to Him and ask for Him.

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month.
