What a horrible tragedy it was in Haiti. It did not take more than 45 seconds to bring about this complete devastation and disaster in the whole nation of Haiti. It is very tragic that many are buried alive under the rubble and under their own homes. Many are trapped inside and could not come out unless someone comes and rescues them.I think that spiritually we are in the same situation. We are buried under the rubbles of our own sins, guilt and shame and there is no way out. We are so trapped inside that unless someone comes and rescues us, death is inevitable. That's what we are - a hopeless, helpless creature, destined to utter destruction. But I have the Good News! Someone had already paid the price for our redemption and deliverance from the heavy burden of sins, guilt, shame and death. He went to the cross taking all our sins on Himself. He gave His precious life and shed His pure holy and uncorrupted blood for you and for me so that we could be redeemed from the trap of death. What a shameful and horrible death He took just to restore us, just to redeem us from our sins. Today we can receive Him in our lives and get forgiveness of our sins because of His great sacrifice. More than that He died to give us eternal life, a life that would never fade away, a life that give us no sorrow, no pain but only joy and peace. He is no other than Jesus. He promises that He is preparing a place for those who accept Him in their lives. When Jesus was about to leave this world He promised to His disciples in John 14:1-4 "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know."Yes, Jesus is preparing a place for those who know Him, those who accept Him as their Lord and Savior. We read from the Bible that for whom Jesus is preparing a place, will have no death, no sorrow but unending joy and peace as we read in Rev 21:4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."But the question is how could we go to that place, which is so beautiful and without a trace of earthly pain and sorrow? Again as we read in John 1:12-13, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."This wonderful life could be yours if you come to Him and give your life to Jesus. If you repent from your sins and invite Him in your life, He will give you a new life, a life that is beyond your imagination, full of peace and joy. And finally He will give you eternal life.
At times I am fascinated by this promise of God whenever I read it in the Bible, "He will set you high above all nations".We read in Deu 26:18-19, "....that you should keep all His commandments, and that He will set you high above all nations which He has made, in praise, in name, and in honor, and that you may be a holy people to the LORD your God, just as He has spoken."Also in Deu 28:1 "Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth."These were the promise of God for the Israelites when He took them to the Promised Land. But I believe that it is not for them alone anymore, but is for everyone who diligently obeys the voice of the LORD and keep all His commandments. Once I read the story of a journalist. She had only one daughter. When her daughter was about 16 years old, she met with an accident and died. The journalist could not bear the pain because of the death of her only daughter. She wept and wept. For many days she could not go for her work. She even could not eat properly for many months. But finally she tried to do her journalist work part time. One day she visited a very small village for her work. As she was walking along a small narrow road of that village, her attention was drawn to a teenaged girl who resided in a hut. She could not move any further. The girl resembled exactly like her deceased daughter. The only difference was that she was poor and was living in a hut. The journalist could not move any further but she went and talked to her. The more she talked to her she found that her resemblance to her daughter was more striking. She visited her very often and finally decided to adopt her as her daughter. So she adopted her and brought her in her big palace like home. Now this poor girl who had never seen anything like that in her life was completely amazed. At times she could not decide which item she had to choose to eat or to wear as there was no choice for her in her poor lifestyle in the hut. But here everything was in plenty. Her life was changed forever and whatever the journalist had was hers. She became instant heiress of the journalist. And that's what happens to a person when he/she accepts Lord Jesus as his/her Lord and Savior. God gives instant right to become His child. What a privilege to be born in His family. Whatever is His becomes yours when you are born in His family. Not only that, He also sets you high above all nations which He has made, in praise, in name, and in honor, and that you may be a holy people to the LORD your God. You have only one thing to do to achieve all these blessings just be in His home. Never walk away from Him. Stay in His home and do whatever He commands you to do and soon you will find how His mighty hand lifts you up and makes you above all nations. Yes, my friend, He is a good God and He wants to bless you and make you a blessing if you just come to Him and surrender your life to Him.

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
