In the Bible we read throughout how God the almighty delights in protecting His children. Psalms 91:1-7 says how God protects those who take refuge under His wings as we read, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust. Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you." The verses say that He will deliver you from the evil plots and plans of the enemy, from perilous pestilence, from the fear of terror by night, from the arrow that flies by day, from pestilence that walks in darkness and the destruction that lays waste at noonday. You can see that His protection is for every area of our lives. Nothing could harm us if we have taken refuge under His wings. The day you take refuge under His wings, the very same day, it becomes the responsibility of God to provide all the above said protections for you. At times we look at our circumstances and fear grips our soul and we cry out, "O, God, where are you?" But if God is with us, we need not to fear anything because He is our protector.In the Bible we read a story. There was a prophet in Israel whose name was Elisha. He would often tell the king of Israel to be careful because the king of Syria is planning to attack in this country in such and such way. When the king of Israel took precaution according to the word of Elisha and when it happened more than two or three times, the king of Syria was very upset. He asked his workers, who is among them who tells the inner news to the king of Israel? And one of his servants said, "None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom." (2Ki 6:12) So the king of Syria sent horses, chariots and a great army to bring Elisha and they came by night and surrounded the city. When the servant of Elisha arose early and went out, he saw that there was an army surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to Elisha, "Alas, my master! What shall we do?" So he answered, "Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them."(2Kings 6:15-16) Further we read that, "Elisha prayed, and said, "LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see." Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha."The young servant of Elisha could not see what was happening in the heavenly realm but when his spiritual eyes were opened he could see horses and chariots of fire around Elisha. Elisha told him "Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them." That's how God protected Elisha and the Israelites that day.If we take refuge under the wings of Almighty God, He surrounds us and protects us. No harm could come near our dwelling. If you have not yet taken refuge under His mighty wings, I would invite you to come and take refuge under His wings. Ask Him to come in your heart. Please pray this prayer with me: Lord Jesus, I confess all my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Please wash me with your precious blood. Today I invite you in my life and accept you as my Lord and Savior. Come into my life and make me whole. Thank you Jesus for hearing my prayers. I give you all the glory and honor. I pray in the matchless and unfailing name of Jesus, Amen.
Missed Warning Signs
Last week the former president Mr. Bill Clinton was hospitalized due to heart problems. It was not the first time that he had trouble with his heart. When first time he had the heart problem, news report said that he was notorious for his fondness of fast food and donuts. He also ignored his family history of heart attacks and did not do anything for the warning signs. Though he was very lucky to be alive yet he suffered heart problem because of ignoring those missed warning signs. This was the result of missing warning signs regarding physical health. Bible talks in connection with our spiritual lives about signs warning us not to end up in hell.Someone said: There are over 162 references in the New Testament which warn of Hell. Over 70 of these references are attributed to Jesus. According to the gospels, Jesus spoke more on Hell than on any other subject.If you are traveling through a road and if you see a warning sign saying, "danger! road leads to a dangerous pit", what would you do? Will you turn around or go ahead? You may probably think, 'let me go ahead and look.. if there is no danger... I can probably go from here itself... etc. Then you go about half block and another sterner warning sign telling you to turn around because there is a danger ahead of that road. But you keep going ignoring the signs. It seems a foolish idea to get going despite all the warning signs. But do you know what? There are more than seventy danger signs in New Testament spoken by Jesus Himself! Yet how many believe in it and how many turn around? Very few! It is very sad that most of the people ignore those warning signs of danger put by Jesus Himself and instead of turning around, they keep walking on the same dangerous road to hell and end up in hell fire. Jesus started His ministry preaching repentance and to receive forgiveness of sin from God. Then Paul preached the same truth to as many as he could. We read in Act 26:19-20, "Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, but declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance." Even today God wants us to repent from our sins and turn to Him so that we could have eternal life. Jesus came in this world to give us eternal life. He came and shed His precious blood on the cruel cross so that we could have forgiveness of our sins and a place in heaven. My friend, the price for our salvation has already been paid. Now we have to only accept the free gift of salvation through the precious blood of Jesus. If you do not accept this precious gift, then know for sure that you are walking on the most dangerous road which will lead you to hell. But if you repent and turn to God, He is ready to forgive and forget all your sins and give you eternal life.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 10th Aug. 2010
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 10th Aug. 2010
