This is the time of the year when we remember the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the dying humanity. It was because of our sins that made Him to go to the cruel cross and to give up His precious life for us. It was our sins that made Him to shed His precious blood. Isaiah gives a clear picture of what the suffering Messiah would have looked like. Isa 53:3-5, "He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace [was] upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed."He came to His own and they rejected Him - the creator of the universe who made everything, who is the sustainer of mankind, who came to correct the mistake made by man and to reconcile man with God. But He was despised and was rejected. Yet He bore our griefs and carried our sorrows. He was wounded for our transgressions and was bruised for our iniquities. Why it happened? Just to give us forgiveness of our sins! Just to reconcile us with God. Just to see us happy and blessed. Just to see us filled with peace, joy and happiness and in perfect health. Often people think that forgiveness of sins is not possible and often people ask how you know that your sins are forgiven. Well, if I peel off vegetable skins there are peels on the kitchen table. But if I come back and clean the kitchen table, wipe out clean, would you see the difference? I am sure that you will notice a difference. The same thing happens when Jesus comes in one's life and cleans him/her inside out. Everybody will notice a difference. For the very purpose Jesus came in this world to save us from all our sins, sorrow, pains and sicknesses. On the cruel cross He shed His precious blood so that we could come out of our sins and live a holy life. If we invite Him in our lives, if we receive Him, He would be glad to come and forgive us from all our sins. You may have been born in a Christian home, you might have attended Good Friday and Easter services year after year. But have you ever thought about the significance of the great sacrifice, Jesus did for mankind? If not, this is the time to come to Jesus and ask for His forgiveness. Let not His sacrifice become meaningless to you and let not one more Good Friday and Easter slip away without knowing Him personally.
Acts 2:17 'And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.When the spirit of God comes and resides inside you, you can have revelations from God. God speaks in various ways but of course, dreams and visions are His specialty. Throughout the Bible He spoke to His prophets, kings and His people through visions and dreams. When God called Moses for the ministry He revealed Himself through the burning bush (Mark 12:26). It was a vision where the bush was burning with fire but was not consumed. When God had to direct Peter to the house of Cornelius, He showed a vision (Acts 10:9-16). When God had to reveal about the birth of Jesus to Joseph, He showed a dream. Mat 1:18-20, "Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit."Bible says in Acts 2:17 that in the last days God will reveal things through dreams and visions. How and when? If you are filled with the Holy Spirit it is possible. Why God does reveal things? He reveals things to His children and there are many reasons behind it. John 16:13-14, "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. (Verse 14) "He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you." The above verse says that God reveals things that are going to come. You and I can't see naturally what is going to happen in the future, but Holy Spirit knows and He tells the things ahead of you. Verse 14 says, “He will take of what is Mine”, and declare it to you. It means that the things which God knows, He (Holy Spirit) will reveal to you. We as human beings are NOT all knowing and so we can't know what is happening in the spirit realm. But when the spirit of God which is "All Knowing" comes and dwells inside of you and me then the Holy Spirit tells what is happening in spirit realm and what is going to happen. 1. Revelations for protection:God reveals things through visions and dreams. I remember an incident through which God revealed a certain thing that had never crossed in our minds. One day a person who was very friendly and who behaved very friendly asked my brother for a ride. He said that he needed to go somewhere a few weeks later and that he needed ride for that particular occasion. He asked to mark the calendar to be sure that there is no other appointment that day." So my brother said, yes. Later on he reminded many times about this need to my brother and my brother gave him very positive assurance that he would go with him. More than a month passed by and finally the week arrived when my brother had to go with him. We didn't think anything about it so we were pretty ready for it, but the day before it, I had a strange dream. In my dream I saw that I was standing on the first step of the staircase of my home which was leading towards the basement. In my dream I was looking down and at the end of this stairs, in the basement this man was standing. He had big butcher knives and he was throwing it towards me. He was throwing them one after another and he threw several of them towards me. Then the dream ended. I was shocked and surprised. I told my brother about it and asked him to pray about it and find out if God had to convey some message through it. When my brother prayed about it, God revealed not to go with him and then my brother dropped the idea of going with him and conveyed his inability to go with him. Well till then we had no other opinion about him because we never suspected anything as he was very friendly. How many times we just look toward things which look pleasant from the outside and think about it as good while it turns out to be something else. Unless the Spirit of God reveals something, you and I can never know what is in the heart of a person. All these years God had revealed many things through such dreams and visions that we could know things about people and about situations. These dreams have become a vital part of our lives and helped us to stay alert and to be careful. Bible describes about such dreams and visions that had warned people from time to time and brought protection in their lives. In Matthew chapters 1 (last paragraph) and 2 where the birth of Jesus is described, you can see God speaking to different people through various dreams. One such dream was given to Joseph (father of Jesus). Mat 2:13-14, Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, "Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him." When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt,2. Revelations for Special purpose: God reveals things with special purpose that could turn the situations around. Many a times the things God speak we don't understand them. Some times even they don't look doable or logical but still it has great purpose. I heard an interesting story which happened in Br. Reinhard Bonnke's ministry. In the early years of his ministry he never thought that any miracle would ever take place in his meetings. Once he had a convention in his church. He had invited a guest speaker for this event. For the first night's event Br. Reinhard went to pick this minister in his hotel. The said minister told him that he is going to preach the next day only and asked him to arrange for some other preacher for that day. So Br. Reinhard returned back broken hearted and announced in the meeting that the invited preacher could not come but he promised that he is going to preach the next day. The next day came and again he went to his hotel to pick him up. Then he said that the Lord had told him not to preach and so he is packing up his things and going back. Br. Reinhard got very upset and he returned back to his car and he didn't know what to do next. So he put his head on the steering wheel and wept. Then he returned back and decided to preach himself. As he was preaching suddenly he heard a big commotion and when he looked, he saw a man whose arms and legs were twisted became totaly straight. He came out of his wheelchair and began to jump and dance and began to praise God. In that meeting many wonderful miracles took place and then only Br. Reinhard realized that God can do miracles through his ministry too. That's how he became a healing preacher who is being used by God in a very mighty way. Today millions attend his meetings and through one meeting thousands get saved and many get healed. If the other preacher had not heard God's voice and acted on it, today we would not have seen a big ministry like this with millions of souls being saved and restored. If he had considered it as an insult to leave without preaching the outcome might have been different. Br. Reinhard's biography page says, 'Since the start of the new millennium, through a host of major events in Africa and other parts of the world, the ministry has recorded some 52 million decisions for Jesus Christ.' Wow!! What a great ministry these many souls won for Christ. God's revelations are marvelous. He reveals things with a special purpose. Today many might think that the days of visions and dreams are over and that God no longer talks through dreams. But that is a lie from Satan himself. Satan is trying to stop what God wants to give. Satan knows if more and more people will be able to reach to their God given potential, then his kingdom will be doomed and he will loose more souls from his hand. That's why Satan is trying his level best to work in the body of Christ. He keeps working in the lives of people to disrupt God's work and His plan. Are you a saved and spirit filled person? Are you able to operate in the will of God? Are you able to see visions and dreams? If not you need to step into the greater and higher truth where you can know what God has stored for you. It is God's will to give you the anointing of the Holy Spirit. It is God's will to give you visions and dreams. It is a marvelous experience where you can know the revelations of God. May God help you to reach where God wants you to be.
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month.
