1Cor 12:28, "And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues."

Next one is the ministry of helps. When you are in trouble, when you are in need, when you do not know where to turn in those moments if you find the desired help, how much it fills you with happiness and with gratitude towards those who helped you. In the Bible we read again and again about God that He is a very present help in our troubles. Psa 46:1, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Also in Psa 118:13, You pushed me violently, that I might fall, But the LORD helped me."

Psalmist says that his help comes from God who is the creator and because of that he will not be moved, but will be protected from all evil as we read in Psa 121:1-8, "I will lift up my eyes to the hills- From whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore."

There is a God who not only wants to help us in our dire needs but also encourages His followers to do the same. God wants us to help others. Mat 10:7-8, And as you go, preach, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand, Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.' If you are a child of God, it is your duty to help others spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally and in whatever way you could.

This type of ministry, helping others was set by God Himself in Churches. We read in the Bible that the first Church had this ministry of helping those who were in need of finances, healings and other needs. The Church was open for them to help them. How much do we care about those who are in need today? Do our Churches have the heart to help and provide spiritual, physical, emotional and mental needs of people?

One day Peter and John were entering in the temple and they saw a lame man asking for alms. Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk." And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them--walking, leaping, and praising God" (acts3:6-8). Where are those helping hands today which could convert a desperate person into a walking, leaping and joyful person glorifying God?

When Jesus was sending His disciples He told them, "Freely you have received, freely give." If you have received heavenly peace, joy and forgiveness of sin through the shed blood of Lord Jesus Christ, you cannot contain it to yourself. You will want to pass it on. It is such a wonderful thing that you want to share with others so that others also could receive that joy and peace which you have received. You will also want to help others to reach heaven.

Word of God - the Tool for correction - Part II

By Sheela Isaac

In the last issue we have seen from Proverb how the word of God can bring correction in our lives. We saw three things.

1. Bible says not to device evil against others. We need to understand that when we do evil against others, the same evil returns in our lives because God who looks from heaven rewards according to our deeds. Even without doing evil against others evil follows us in our lives: so why bring more evil by going against God's law.

2. We need to get rid of self-righteousness and turn to God. It means that we need to humble ourselves and repent from our sins and turn to Jesus.

3. We need to help others, means to help those who are really in need not considering whether they are near and dear to us or not.

4. Do not neglect the counsel of your parents

5. Stay away from sexual immorality

4. Do not neglect the counsel of your parents:
Proverb 4:1- 4, "Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, And give attention to know understanding; "Let your heart retain my words; Keep my commands, and live." Proverb 6:20-21, "My son, keep your father's command, And do not forsake the law of your mother. Bind them continually upon your heart; Tie them around your neck."
Lev 19:3 'Every one of you shall revere his mother and his father,

The command to revere parents is not an option. The Bible says, "children hear the instruction of father and mother." When I look back into my life, I find that my parents have brought good and valuable things in my life. I remember that when I was a child, we three (brother and sisters) used to talk among ourselves in the Hindi language which is the language of north India. My mom and dad talked with each other in Malayalam our mother tongue. There were times when my parents really wanted us that we should not neglect our mother tongue. Whenever we three talked to our dad in Hindi he would say, "speak in Malayalam. I do not understand what you are saying." He always said, "let not you forget your own language, knowing one more language would not hurt you." This encouragement made us to learn our own language. Today that teaching really paid off. Because of it today when I go among Malayalee crowd I don't feel embarrassed because I know the language. I can interact with them and I can understand everything.

Parents are good teachers and they can bring good things in your life. Apart from the language the most valuable thing I found from my parents was spiritual life. My parents were not spiritual but religious in those early days, but they always taught us never to forget the creator. Eccl 12:1, "Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, Before the difficult days come, And the years draw near when you say, "I have no pleasure in them": They not only forced us to read the word of God and memorize the verses daily, they also insisted on our attending Sunday school and church services regularly not only that, they took us to many Gospel meetings and it all paid off well. Bible says in, Rom 10:17, "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." If you are a parent it's your duty to bring children in godly fear. Let them know who their creator is, let them respect the creator (Jesus) who gave life to them. Let them hear the Gospel and develop faith in God and get saved. Never forbid them from hearing the Gospel. It will bring eternal peace and joy in their lives and it will prevent them from wavering and going astray into sinful lifestyle. It will protect their eternity and they will be eternally grateful for that. We all got saved in between 1980-85 and we all found eternal life and peace in our lives. Isa 54:13, "All your children shall be taught by the LORD, And great shall be the peace of your children." This is the secret of real peace. When Jesus comes peace comes, when Jesus comes blessings come, when Jesus comes joy comes, when Jesus comes eternal life comes.

What our parents did in our lives will stand forever. It is a treasure for life-time which they planted in our lives. We are eternally grateful for our godly parents. We know that one day when we finish our work in this world we'll see Jesus and live with Him forever. What a day it would be when He will say, "Well done, well done, my good and faithful servant.." Are you a good parent? Have you tried to teach your children in godly ways? Have you ever thought about your children's eternity? Are you nurturing them in worldly pleasures? In parties, clubs, alcohol, drugs, movies, occult and all the filthy things, which brings pathetic end, death and destruction?

I remember a story about a thief. He committed a crime and was in jail. He got death sentence for his crimes. Before the execution day arrived they asked about his last wish. He said, "I want to meet my mother, I want to ask her one question, why, why she did it to me." The mother came to meet him. He bit her ear and cut it. Then he said, "You are the mother who brought me in this place. If you had raised me in godly ways today I would not be in this situation. When I stole little things when I was a kid, if you had said, NO, my future would have been different?" Yes parents are solely responsible for the future of their children. Your teachings could brighten their future or damn their future. If you could bring them up in godly ways and in the fear of God (Jesus) their future will be bright and one day they will be able to stand before their creator with great pride that they have finished their earthly race well. I want to add one more thing with it, you need to teach your children the ways of God when they are very young. Somebody said, "when the plant is tender you can bend it in any direction, but when it is old you can't.

Deu 6:1-9 "Now this is the commandment, and these are the statutes and judgments which the LORD your God has commanded to teach you, that you may observe them in the land which you are crossing over to possess, "that you may fear the LORD your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged. "Therefore hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe it, that it may be well with you, and that you may multiply greatly as the LORD God of your fathers has promised you; 'a land flowing with milk and honey.' "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one! "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. "And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. "You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. "You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. "You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates."

5. Stay away from sexual immorality:
Proverb as well as many other books of the Bible describes the sin of adultery/fornication as the gravest sin. Leviticus chapter 18 talks about various forms of sexual immorality. Here is the short list of sexual sin.
Homosexuality is sin: Lev 18:22 'You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.
Prostitution is sin: Prov 5:8-10 Remove your way far from her, And do not go near the door of her house, Lest you give your honor to others, And your years to the cruel one; Lest aliens be filled with your wealth, And your labors go to the house of a foreigner;
Changing partners is sin: Prov 5:18, "Let your fountain be blessed, And rejoice with the wife of your youth."Forsaking wife/husband of youth is sin: Prov 5:18
Going after somebody else' wife/husband is sin: Prov 6:29, "So is he who goes in to his neighbor's wife; Whoever touches her shall not be innocent."

There are hundreds of such laws given in the Bible and if you ignore these laws it could cost you eternal life and heaven. You might say I am already in such sin now what. You can still come out of it by asking forgiveness of your sin to Jesus and with this determination not to go back in it again. Proverb 6:32 -32, "Whoever commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding; He who does so destroys his own soul. Wounds and dishonor he will get, And his reproach will not be wiped away." The Bible says don't travel on sinful paths but turn away from it. Proverb 4:14-15, "Do not enter the path of the wicked, And do not walk in the way of evil. Avoid it, do not travel on it; Turn away from it and pass on."

The Bible describes what is sin and what not. Every thing is written here for us as a guideline. We must not forget that one day we have to give an account of our life before God our creator (Jesus). He will judge us according to His law, not by the law of the land. Your land might be permitting it but God of the Bible will require account from you judged according to His law i.e. 'the Word of God'.

Let's walk in the ways of God in holiness and purity so that we might be found faithful in the sight of God at the end.

I would like to take this opportunity to pray for you. You can come out of sexual sin because Jesus is able to deliver you. Lord I pray for every reader who wants to get rid of their sin and want to lead a victorious and holy life. I command spirit of lust, perversion and spirit of homosexuality to go in hell fire in Jesus name. I come against the spirits of lust, perversion and spirit of homosexuality and rebuke them in Jesus name and command them to leave these precious people in the mighty name of Jesus. Leave these people in Jesus name and go in hell fire and never to return again. Take your hold off of them and get out of their lives in the mighty name of Jesus. I release the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Lord let your blessed spirit bring mighty deliverance in the lives of these people. Be delivered in Jesus name. Be set free in the name of Jesus. Be delivered from all the sexual immorality in Jesus name. Be healed in Jesus name. Be free from all the demonic powers in Jesus name. Be delivered from all the powers of darkness in Jesus name. Be totally free in Jesus name. I claim the victory in Jesus name.

You can pray this prayer with me:
Lord Jesus I need forgiveness of sin. Please forgive and forget my sin. Wash me and cleans me with your precious blood. Make me whiter than snow. Come into my heart and live your life within me. Come Lord and cleans me from all unrighteousness. I repent from my sin. Wash me with your precious blood and give me a new beginning. Cleanse my life with your precious blood and make me a new person. Give me grace to live a clean life here after and follow your holy ways. Thank you for hearing this prayer. I pray in Jesus name Amen.

Is Poverty A Blessing and Grace of God? - 2

By Sherly Isaac

God told Moses to write down the Blessings and Curses which would come on people. And these Blessings and curses are written in Deuteronomy 28th Chapter in the Bible. I think that every person should read Deuteronomy 28th chapter in order to avoid mistakes which bring curses in our lives.

In Deu 28:12-14 we read how we could get those blessings which God has stored for us, "The LORD will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them. So you shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right or the left, to go after other gods to serve them."

The secret of getting blessing and success in our lives lies in two things, Obey His commandments and observe them carefully. If you want to obey His commandments you must know what His commandments are and that is the reason why God said, "Let not the word of God depart from your mouth." Jos 1:8, This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."

Yes, God has so many blessings stored for us and in those blessings; financial prosperity is one of the blessings. God has clearly spoken that He will bless our finances and works of our hands if we walk in His ways. I don't know how people think that financial prosperity is not from God? Most of those who preach against prosperity live in good homes, draw handsome salary and drive nice cars. When they themselves live prosperous lives, I wonder why they preach otherwise!

Let me tell you friends that poverty is considered as a curse by God in the Bible and this curse falls on those who forsake the Lord and on those who do not walk in His ways. In Deu 28:15-20 we read, "But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you: Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country. Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. Cursed shall be the fruit of your body and the produce of your land, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out. The LORD will send on you cursing, confusion, and rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings in which you have forsaken Me."

Further in Deu 28:23-24 we read, "And your heavens which are over your head shall be bronze, and the earth which is under you shall be iron. The LORD will change the rain of your land to powder and dust; from the heaven it shall come down on you until you are destroyed."

Deu 28:33, A nation whom you have not known shall eat the fruit of your land and the produce of your labor, and you shall be only oppressed and crushed continually.
Deu 28:38, "You shall carry much seed out to the field but gather little in, for the locust shall consume it.
Deu 28:39, You shall plant vineyards and tend them, but you shall neither drink of the wine nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.
Deu 28:40, You shall have olive trees throughout all your territory, but you shall not anoint [yourself] with the oil; for your olives shall drop off.
Deu 28:42, Locusts shall consume all your trees and the produce of your land.
Deu 28:44, He shall lend to you, but you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head, and you shall be the tail.
Deu 28:45, "Moreover all these curses shall come upon you and pursue and overtake you, until you are destroyed, because you did not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which He commanded you.

And the list goes on... I don't understand how anybody would ever call these curses as blessings and as grace of God?

But I want to tell you that there is a good God who wants to bless us beyond our imagination. He wants to prosper us and wants to see us happy and blessed. He wants to fill us with goodness and blessings in our lives. When He brought the Israelites out of Egypt He did not bring them empty handed but they came out with wealth and possessions in their hands. During all their stay of forty years in the wilderness they lacked nothing." We also read in Deu 15:4-6, except when there may be no poor among you; for the LORD will greatly bless you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you to possess as an inheritance-- only if you carefully obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe with care all these commandments which I command you today. For the LORD your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you. For the LORD your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you.

Well, some may say that this is according to Old Testament, but we read the same in New Testament Act 4:34, Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold."

They were not lacking anything which means that they were not poor. Jesus Himself said in Mat 6:29, and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?"

And today also God wants us to be blessed and prosperous. If you walk in His ways and love Him with all your heart, He will not withhold any good thing from you.
