Once I heard an example which I want to share. If a person is very poor and lives in a hut but there is a great desire in his heart that president must come and live with him. So one day he writes a letter to president and expresses his desire that, president come and live with him. When the president received the letter, he reads it and if he decides to go and live with this man then he will not go directly but will send his people beforehand. His people will go and investigate where this man lives, what he does. When they arrive at his house, they find that this man is very poor and lives in a small hut, does not have much to eat and does not have proper clothes to wear. They will say that president cannot come and live in this place. If president has to come, he needs a nice place to live with goods which he likes.So the men will dismantle the small hut and will build a big mansion there and fill it with everything that president likes. And they will create a beautiful environment where president can live without any problem. We are spiritually bankrupt just like this poor man who could not give anything to earn the favor of the president. We are so poor that we cannot earn our salvation by any means. But when we invite Jesus in our lives, the King of kings and the Lord of lords comes in our heart and dwells in us. He changes everything and gives us a new life. He washes us from our sins and gives us a desire to live a holy life. He gives us authority to become child of God.Now the president is in the house of that poor man but this man cannot live as he wanted. He always had to be cautious to please the president otherwise; president can be angry and can leave him. When Adam and Eve sinned against God, they were driven out from the presence of God. If we continue in sin, we can be out of God's presence. God wants us to live a holy life, walk in His ways pleasing to Him all the time. So how can we please God? How can we live a holy life? David says in Psa 119:9-11, "How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You!"It is important that we must know what is written in the word of God and we must do according to it. God said to Joshua in Josh 1:8-9, "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." God wants us to have a closer walk with Him and live a life pleasing to Him. We must do what He commanded in His word and not turn a bit from His word. If we do it, He promised all kinds of blessings in our lives.
Last week Apple Company's founder Steve Jobs died at the age of 56. When I heard this news, it was really shocking that he died so young. This man gave so much to this world. He changed the way world communicates today and he achieved so much success. So what can we learn from his life?I was reading Commencement address delivered by Steve Jobs, on June 12, 2005. But it was very, very clear looking backwards ten years later. Again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. ""Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart."Though he achieved so much in his life yet his knowledge was limited and he could only see in the past and could not in future. He did not know what would be his future with having a deadly disease in his body. He thought that following his heart was the best way to avoid the thoughts of death.But there is a better way - Jesus said in John 12:26 "If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor."In other words Jesus was saying that there is an eternal home for those who love Him and follow Him. In John 14:1-3 He said, "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also."Today we can know what is ahead of us while we are still in this world and can have a golden future if we come to Jesus and if our sins are washed by the precious blood of Jesus. As soon as we invite Jesus in our lives, He comes in and takes away the fear of death from our lives, worry of future from our lives and gives us eternal life. You cannot imagine the joy and peace He fills in our hearts when He comes in. Yes, my friend, it is good to pursue your dreams but we need to make sure that we must secure our eternal home by coming at the feet of Jesus. If you have not yet accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, this is the right time to invite Him in your life. Here is what Jesus said in Rev 3:20, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me."Would you hear His knock in your heart's door and open it for Jesus? If you do so, it would be the best decision you will ever make in your life.

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month.
