Joshua 1:5, "No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you."This was the promise for Joshua when he took the charge of leading the Israelites to the Promised Land. I believe that this promise given to Joshua is not only for Joshua but for each and every believer who have put their trust in Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Because the Bible tells us in Zechariah 2:8, For thus says the LORD of hosts: "He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye."God Himself protects His children and He Himself cares for them. If anybody tries to touch His anointed, it is like touching the apple of God's eye. Bible tells us about Esther in her very beautiful story of how God turned her situation around, how He returned the intended destruction of the entire Jewish nation along with her on the heads of those who planned the destruction. Haman who planned the destruction of the Jews did not know that he was planning his own destruction. Haman sought to destroy all the Jews, the people of Mordecai, who were throughout the whole kingdom of king Ahasuerus. The king was on the side of Haman and everything seemed a big success for him as we read in Esther 3:11-12, And the king said to Haman, "The money and the people are given to you, to do with them as seems good to you." Then the king's scribes were called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and a decree was written according to all that Haman commanded--to the king's satraps, to the governors who were over each province, to the officials of all people, to every province according to its script, and to every people in their language. In the name of King Ahasuerus it was written, and sealed with the king's signet ring."For Mordecai, Esther and the Jews it seemed completely impossible to escape from the decree being carried out because the decree had King's seal on it. At times it happens to us also. Everything would appear to go wrong as if there is no other side of all those problems. At times it seems that enemy is winning big and we have no hope left. But look at Haman that his success was short lived. God did not allow His children to face defeat. And what God did was completely impossible in the natural. Queen Esther went before the king and she not only found favor in the eyes of the king but she was also able to turn over the previous decree which would have wiped away the whole Jewish people. What Haman planned against the Jewish people, returned to his own head as we read in Esther 9:25, "but when Esther came before the king, he commanded by letter that this wicked plot which Haman had devised against the Jews should return on his own head, and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows."Yes, my friend, if you are a child of God, you need not to fear anything because there is mighty and awesome God who would protect you and would be mindful of you. He is ready to give you victory over your enemies. But if you are not yet a child of God, you need to become one before it is too late. Come to Jesus and give your life into the mighty hands of Him so that you could be protected for ever.
1Peter 1:15-16, "but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy."God wants us to live a holy life because He is holy and there is no sin in Him. When Jesus was in this world, He Himself lived a holy life. He went through all the temptations as we human beings go through and yet He was sinless. Many just think that Jesus was a good teacher who taught many good things and contributed moral teachings to this world but I would say that Jesus is more than a good teacher. He is God Himself who came down in this world to pull us out of our sins and to give us a holy life. Holiness is important because without holiness no one can see God and no one can enter in heaven. We read in Gal 5:19-21, "Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God."So the question is, how can we live a holy life?1. By accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior: Jhn 1:12-13, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."At the very moment when a person accepts Jesus as his/her Lord and Savior, at that very moment, the person's past sins are washed away and he/she becomes a child of the Most High God. At that very moment the person is born in the family of God and inherits the God nature. One of God's nature is to be holy and stay away from sin and sinful nature. That is the reason why Peter says in 1Peter 1:14, "as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; "2. By praising God we can live a holy life:Rom 1:20-21, "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened." We need to praise God and thank Him for His untold blessings. When we give glory to Him, He will protect us from all evil.3. By hiding God's word in our heart:Psalimst says in Psalms 119:11, "Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You."God's word is powerful enough to protect us from every sin and addictions. Bible tells us that when we meditate on the word of God and when we put the word of God in our heart, it is powerful enough to protect us from all evil.If you have not yet accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, today, accept Him as your Lord and Savior because it is the first step towards holiness. Then live a holy life so that when you close your eyes on this earth, you could enter in heaven.

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month.
