When the Israelites were about to be delivered from the bondage of Egypt God told them to observe Passover as explained in Exodus 12:11-14, 'And thus you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord's Passover. For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD. Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt. So this day shall be to you a memorial; and you shall keep it as a feast to the LORD throughout your generations. You shall keep it as a feast by an everlasting ordinance."Those who applied the blood of the lamb on the doorposts of their houses were spared from death. But death came to them who did not apply the blood of the lamb on their doorposts. So the blood of the lamb is the symbol of protection from death and destruction. Blood of the lamb is also symbol of passing from death to life.When Jesus was in this world He said in John 5:24, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life."And we read in 1 Corinthians 5:7, "Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us."Jesus gave His precious life for us on the cruel cross so that we need not to go through death or destruction but have eternal life. He did everything for our salvation so that we should not have eternal damnation but could pass from death to life. If we apply the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross on the doorposts of our heart and our lives, we will be protected from death and destruction.For that we have just to come at His feet and ask for forgiveness of our sins. When we do that He will gladly forgive and forget all our sins and will give us a new life. This new life will not fade away but will enable you to live forever and forever with Jesus in heaven. What a beautiful life it would be and I am sure that no one would like to miss it including you!
Bible tells us about a family where Jesus frequently visited. Mary, Martha and Lazarus were in that family. One day Jesus heard that Lazarus was very sick and then he died. But Jesus delayed to visit them and when He finally came to them the reaction of both the sisters Mary and Martha was very frustrating. They thought that it was very late for their brother because he was dead and four days have already passed. In John 11:21-24 we read, Then Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You. Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again." Martha said to Him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day."Both the sisters were heart broken and could not recognize that the creator Himself was standing before them. They could not grasp the comforting words of Jesus because their hearts were so broken. Yet Jesus told them in John 11:25-26, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"Of course death is painful and breaks the heart of a person who sees the death of a loved one. But the opposite of death is that which brings great joy and hope in one's life and that is life. When Jesus saw the sorrow of both the sisters, He was also heart broken and He wept. But there was one standing before them who had power over life and death. By His one word Lazarus came out of the tomb. A man who could have been stinking, whose body could have started to decompose, who being dead for days having absolutely no hope, came out of the tomb alive and well.The same Jesus who did such a great miracle in the lives of the crying sisters Mary and Martha can do the same for you. He can resurrect your hopes today, He can resurrect dead dreams of yours today and He can restore your life. Just call upon His name and He is ready to perform a miracle which no one else could do.More than that, He is ready to give you eternal life. Because of sin there is eternal death, that is, separation from God forever. Jesus wants to give you eternal life so that you may not die but live forever. For this very reason Jesus came in this world and gave His precious life for us so that we could have eternal life and eternal hope. If you come to Jesus, He will gladly give you eternal life.

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month.
