Recently we heard the news about another member of Kennedy family who died tragically by committing suicide. Media was quick to call it, "Kennedy Curse" but did not have any solution for those hurting souls. How sad it is that Kennedy's who live in this big country having lots and lots of opportunities and yet no one came up for them with a solution. How is it possible at all? I wonder did no one ever tell them about the love of Jesus who came searching for just these types of people? But read the amazing story of a man in the Bible how Jesus delivered him from all those curses and problems in which he was.Bible tells us about a man who was devil possessed. He lived in tombs, he was in mountains and in tombs screaming and cutting himself with stones. There was no one who could care for him nor was there anybody who could help him. He was all alone wandering in mountains among tombs hurting himself. Nobody could tame him because he would break chains in pieces and he was a violent man. At times I wondered that where were his parents, siblings, relatives or friends? But all forsook him, they just threw him out because he was a burden for the whole family even for his community and for his city.But one day Jesus came at that shore where he was. I sure believe that Jesus came searching for this one man who was so distressed, so helpless and so hopeless that he had no future at all. But He came and His compassion moved greatly. When all forsook him, when all abandoned him, Jesus came to search and to help him. Probably our condition may not be like this man's who was physically, emotionally and mentally challenged but at times we feel so lonely, so hopeless, so tiered and in those moments only Jesus can help us. When Jesus looked at this man, He asked one question, "what is your name?" The answer came, ""My name is Legion; for we are many." Instead of this man answering, the demon inside of him spoke for him. The Roman Army had 6000 soldiers in one unit and they called that unit "Legion". So most probably this man had 6000 demons inside of him.Bible does not tell us how this man had these many demons inside of him but I can think of two reasons. 1. I have heard many testimonies from those who were previously demon possessed. They told one thing in common that they were seeking power and for that they had themselves invited demons to come and dwell in their lives. At first everything was good, they got power to do some extraordinary things but later on those demons took control of their lives and made their lives miserable. 2. The second reason could be that sometimes people watch filthy movies or shows and it bring demons. I heard of many people who watched some particular shows or movies and became demon possessed. A few days back I read a report about Hollywood movies and Oprah shows that before they even start producing the program, they would invite demons to come and take control of their lives and shows.When people watch these types of movies or shows, those demons come in their lives and in their homes. Sometimes they would bring quarrel and fighting in their lives, sometimes they would bring uncleanness in their lives, sometimes they would bring fear or some addictions and sicknesses etc. But no demon or demonic power can ever stand before our Lord Jesus Christ. This man had 6000 strong demons and in one split second they were all out of this man when Jesus commanded them and said, "Come out of the man, unclean spirit!"This man who was possessed by devil and was a burden for many, got deliverance immediately. One encounter with Jesus changed his life forever. One encounter with the creator gave him hope and a bright future which no one else could give him. Even today no matter what our situation is, if we come to Jesus, He is ready to deliver us from our situations. When those 6000 demons came out of this man, they begged with Jesus to send them in to the pigs. There were about 2000 pigs and when these demons went in them, the pigs became violent and ran down from the mountains and drowned in the sea. When all these things happened those who were feeding the pigs ran in to the city and told what had happened. So the people came to see what had happened and when they saw that the demon-possessed man was sitting with his right mind they pleaded with Jesus to depart from that place because they were terrified.When Jesus got into His boat to leave, the man who was demon-possessed, came and begged Him that he may be with Him. But Jesus did not give him permission to go with Him but He told, 'go back to your friends and show what mighty works God did for you.' So this man went back to the same place from where he was thrown out, the same place where he was an outcast, the same place where he was ashamed and had no value and proclaimed the goodness of God. In that same place God exalted. him. The same thing God can do for us today. You can see what a great deliverance came in the life of this man. The same thing can happen in our lives if we call upon the mighty name of Jesus. He is ready to forgive and forget all our sins, He is ready to wipe away all our tears and give us a new life. Just come at His feet and you will never be the same again.

He has likely joined the mighty band rushing through the wide gate of false religion. He exhibits none of this self-denial stuff: "Hey, bring all your baggage, your personal ambition, your will, your selfish desires, your immorality, your lack of repentance, your reluctance even to submit fully to the leadership of Christ! you can just come right on through the gate of self-indulgence!" Many claim to be Christians and yet are totally self-indulgent. They will never get through the narrow gate with all that baggage. Though they may not know it, they are on the broad road to destruction."The title is good "Repentance and Surrender" but John MacArthur once again speaks of self-denial instead of repenting from our sins and turning to Christ. It is not about thinking or imagining anything but it is all about coming at the feet of Jesus and repenting from our sins. Unless a person repents from his/her sins to Jesus, there is no forgiveness of sin and there is no entrance to heaven. As I said before, self-denial will not work, if you really want to go to heaven. God is holy and no sinful thing could ever enter in heaven. If anybody desires to go to heaven, he/she should be holy. But we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God then how can we ever enter in heaven? Because we are sinners and by our own efforts we will never be able to become holy or we will never be able to get rid of our sins. That is the reason why Jesus came in this world. He went to the cross, shed His precious holy blood on the cruel cross so that we could get forgiveness of our sins. Today we need not to do anything except to just come at the feet of Jesus. Because Jesus has already done the hard work of our salvation and paid the penalty in full on the cruel cross. You do not need to go around in pilgrimages, you do not need to deny yourself, you do not need to do hard work to come out of your sins but just as you are, come to Jesus. Repent from your sins and give your life to Jesus. As soon as you come to Jesus, He will wash you with His precious blood. All your past sins will be forgiven and you will receive a new life as the Bible tells us in 2Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." God Himself gives a new life when we repent from our sins and fall at the feet of Jesus. This wonderful new life is available for everyone who comes at the feet of Jesus. My friend, this new life does not come through our own efforts or through self denial but there is only one name given for our salvation that is the name of Jesus Christ.If someone teaches you to deny yourself in order to get into heaven, the teaching is not correct. I would suggest you to read your Bible and find out yourself. Whole Bible tells us that there is no salvation through our works but through the blood of Jesus alone. So come to Jesus and get forgiveness of your sins through Him alone.
