Bible tells us that, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever" (Hebrew 13:8).

Careful study of Bible reveals to us that Jesus is the same God of the Old Testament, the same God who created the whole universe, and the same God who came down in the form of a man to save this world from their sins. If Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever then what were the qualities He had in the past and what should be today and tomorrow also? Let us see some of the qualities that Jesus had shown in the past.

1. He forgave the sins of people:
When Adam and Eve sinned against God, when they had no other way, God Himself made a way by sacrificing an animal and giving them skin tunics to hide their shame as seen in Genesis 3:21, "Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothed them." Then He gave the law of sacrifice to the children of Israel so that their sins could be atoned. He said in Leviticus 17:11, "For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul."

When Jesus was in this world He forgave the sins of people. We read in Matthew 9:2-6, "Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, "Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you." And at once some of the scribes said within themselves, "This Man blasphemes!" But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts?, "For which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, 'Arise and walk'? "But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins"; then He said to the paralytic, "Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house."

Those who knew the scriptures were shocked when Jesus forgave the sins of people because they knew that only God can forgive the sins of people. But by forgiving sins, Jesus proved that He is the same God of Old Testament who came down in the form of a man. That was the only reason which brought Jesus to this world that He could purchase the pardon of our sins by giving Himself on the cruel cross. He shed His precious blood so that our sins could be forgiven. Today we can receive forgiveness of our sins through His shed blood.

2. He healed the sick and did good for people:
If we read in Acts 10:38 it says, "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."

Jesus performed mighty and awesome miracles which were manifested throughout in His ministry. We can trace back many of those unusual and awesome miracles in the Old Testament also. God of the Bible is interested in healing our sicknesses and in delivering us from the oppression and hardship brought about by the devil. Jesus did the same thing when He was in this world.

Even today Jesus is ready to forgive our sins, heal our sicknesses, and wipe away our tears and to solve our problems. What He did in the past, what He did for others, He will do for us also. If we just come to Him and give our lives to Him, He is ready to transform our lives.

Acts 2:17 'And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.

Bible says that when the Holy Spirit comes people can see visions and dreams. These are free gifts attached with Holy Spirit. Let us see what visions and dreams mean.

Dreams: As everyone knows, dreams come when you are fast asleep and it commonly happens to every person. There are two types of dreams.
1. Dreams which has no meaning and it is just dreams which don't have any specific meaning and it doesn't come from God.
2. Dreams given from God and these dreams have specific meaning and these dreams eventually come to pass.

If you are not saved and spirit filled for most of the time the dreams you see may probably have no meaning and you can say that it is not given by God. But on the other hand if you have received the anointing of the Holy Spirit you can receive dreams and visions from Jesus. In the beginning you might see very few dreams and visions but as you grow spiritually these will increase in number and you can have many wonderful experiences.

Visions: This is somewhat similar to dreams and it appears exactly like dreams. But visions are not seen when you are sleeping. Visions come when you are fully awake and most of the time when you are praying or finding answers for certain questions and asking Jesus about it. As far as dreams are concerned you might see 2-3 dreams in one night but visions are different in that you can see many visions in a few seconds or you can see series of visions. Visions are given mostly to those who are spirit filled or have the anointing of Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:3-4. But there are few exceptions like Saul of Tarsus who saw vision of Jesus when he was not a believer and was not spirit filled either. These are rare cases where Jesus reveals such visions or dreams with a special purpose. But if you are a spirit filled believer then only you can have an experience of regular visions and dreams.

Acts 9:3, "As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven.
Acts 9:4, "Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?"
Acts 9:5, "And he said, "Who are You, Lord?" Then the Lord said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads."

These visions and dreams are God's one of the methods of communication with His children. He tells you what is coming in the future.
John 16:13 "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

The benefit of this precious anointing is that He Himself teaches things which means that Jesus Himself tells the things coming in the future. He guides and leads in the right path and He helps to understand what is happening in the spirit realm.

1 John 2:27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.

This is really a marvelous gift and if you don't have these gifts you are missing a whole lot which could have made your life easy and which could have kept you in constant contact with your creator Jesus.

Let's see what kinds of visions and dreams one can have if he/she is filled with Holy Spirit.

1. Vision of Jesus:
Yes you can see Jesus with your spiritual eyes and it is such a marvelous experience that words can't describe. I had a few encounters when I saw Jesus in my visions in the past few months and it really was very overwhelming and extremely joyful experience. I would like to share one of the visions which I had a couple of weeks back.

I was going through a seasonal fever kind of thing. I felt very bad and tired after two sleepless nights and having severe headaches. It was the third night that I again woke up around 2 at night with severe headache. I was feeling pretty bad physically and emotionally. It is my routine habits that if I wake up any time in the middle of the night and if I am fully awake I love to spend time in prayer. I wasn't feeling good that night so didn't pray but just a thought came regarding personal relationship with Jesus. I thought, "When a person gets saved Jesus becomes his/her father and He takes care of every situation." My eyes were closed but suddenly I saw a vision. In my vision I saw a setting of road side table and chair out side restaurants you see where people enjoy their meal in summer. In my vision there was a round table and two chairs were there. I was sitting in one of the chairs and there was another chair just in front of me and Jesus was sitting there and it looked that Jesus was talking to me. Jesus was looking very tall slim and handsome. He was wearing white rob and had blue shawl on like we see in calendars. This vision reminded me about Revelation 3:20 where Jesus said.

Revelation 3:20, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me."

This was such a precious vision that I forgot my sickness. This vision had emotionally uplifted me. Next day I shared this wonderful vision to my family members. Every time I shared this vision I got so emotional that tears rolled down my eyes. Next couple of days this vision kept me in such emotional state that every time I remembered this wonderful encounter with Jesus tears rolled down my eyes. It reminded me how Jesus loved us so much. If you have received forgiveness of sin through Jesus then you have the same privileges and you are a child of Jesus. He wants to talk with you and wants to have one on one fellowship with you. Salvation is that wonderful experience where we are in personal relationship with Jesus and He is our Father. He not only died on behalf of us to give us eternal life but He is always there for us.

2. Visions of Angels and dove:
This is very common vision or dream a believer could have on a regular basis. When you are spirit filled, visions of angels are normal and routine where you can see angels with trumpets etc. I saw many times dove descending whenever I prayed for different people or for myself. Dove represents the presence of Holy Spirit. These visions bring encouragement and some kind of assurance of God's presence.

Bible talks about Angels coming to Zachariah, Mary, Joseph etc in their dreams and in person. These Angels bring some kind of message from God. In Zachariah's case his wife was barren and they had no kids and they were very old in age. In the natural they could not have kids but an Angel of God comes with the message of hope that they would have a child. Later we know that John was born and God's promise came true in their life.

Luke 1:11, "Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
Luke 1:12, "And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.
Luke 1:13, "But the angel said to him, "Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.
Luke 1:14, "And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth.
Luke 1:15, "For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb.
Luke 1:16, "And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God.

Mary was to give birth to Jesus (son of God). At that time the Angel came to remove the confusion from the mind of Joseph her would be husband. Here the angel appeared to him in a dream.

Mathew 1:18, "Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
Mathew 1:19, "Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.
Mathew 1:20 But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
Mathew 1:21, "And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins."

Mary's encounter with the angel was very personal. The Angel brought the good news to her that she is going to bring the son of God (Jesus) into this world and she will be the mother of Jesus.

Luke 1:26, "Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,
Luke 1:27, "to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin's name was Mary.
Luke 1:28, "And having come in, the angel said to her, "Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!"
Luke 1:29, "But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was.
Luke 1:30, "Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
Luke 1:31, "And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS.
Luke 1:32, "He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.
Luke 1:33, "And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end."
Luke 1:34, "Then Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I do not know a man?"
Luke 1:35, "And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.

Mary's and Zachariah's experience of seeing angels were personal ones. But Joseph saw an angel in his dream. You can see angels in vision too.

There are many kinds of Angels.
1. Angels with wings flying around
Revelation 8:13, "And I looked, and I heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, ...."

2. Tall angels without wings who could be seen walking like humans
3. Baby angels with wings.
4. Angels in human form

Hebrews 13:2, "Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels."

5. Traveling angels who go with God's children.
Genesis 24:7, "The LORD God of heaven, who took me from my father's house and from the land of my family, and who spoke to me and swore to me, saying, 'To your descendants I give this land,' He will send His angel before you, and you shall take a wife for my son from there.

Exodus 14:19, "And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them.

6. God sends His angles for protection:
Exodus 23:20, "Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.

7. Ministering Angels:
Hebrew 1:14, "Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?
