Jesus said in John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."When Jesus said these words to His disciples, the time and situation was the hardest for them. It was the time when Jesus was about to leave this world and He knew that His disciples will be like sheep whose shepherd has been attacked. Jesus knew that terrible thing which was about to come on His disciples due to His death and He wanted to tell them that no matter what may come on their way, His peace will be with them. But when actual events took place and when Jesus was crucified, His disciples did not know what to do. They were heartbroken, they were confused, afraid and they were hiding. Their whole fear was that soldiers will be coming to drag them too to the courts and that they would have also to face the same fate as of Jesus. Their hearts were greatly troubled. They did not know what to do. Probably we might not have faced such horrible situations as the disciples faced, but at times we face difficult and awful situations in our own lives and we feel such heartbreak and hopelessness which we cannot explain in words. But Jesus told His disciples beforehand that they will have tribulation in this world yet His peace would be with them. Not only that, when the disciples were heartbroken and were hiding after Jesus' death, at that time also Jesus did not leave them alone. He came right where they were hiding. He stood among them and said, "Peace be with you". As soon as they heard the words of Jesus, their hearts were filled with great joy and peace. We read in John 20:19-20, "Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, "Peace be with you." When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord."Jesus did not allow them to die in fear but He came running among them to comfort them and help them in their time of utter confusion and chaos. In the same way, God did not allow the Israelites to die in the wilderness without food and water. But He was there for them all the time. He did not allow their enemies to triumph over them but He Himself fought their battles. If you are a child of God, He Himself fights your battles for you. He Himself will go before you and clear your way for you. Are you facing an impossible situation in your life today? Fear not, but just look to Jesus, He will not allow you to die on your half way and will not allow you to be ashamed before your enemies. He said in Isaiah 26:3, "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You."If you have given your life to Jesus, He will fill your heart with great peace and no evil could come near your dwelling.
Bible talks about the God who protects His children from dangers, evil things, and evil people and from all kinds of harm. In the Bible we read about many who had been protected from harm as they were warned by dreams or visions. After Jesus was born and when the wise men came to the palace of king Herod and inquired about the new born King Jesus, they were troubled. So Herod ordered to kill all the newborn children up to two years old. But God miraculously protected Jesus and His parents as we read in Matthew 2:13, "Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, "Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him."If you are a child of God, God will talk to you through dreams and visions and He will tell you about the things to come. When Joseph was yet a small boy God showed him through dreams that one day he will become such a great man that his brothers and parents will bow down before him. Later it happened exactly.I remember an incident which took place about two and a half years back that once we had to go to a function. The previous night just before the day of the function, I saw a dream. The dream was very simple and yet profound. I saw one couple sitting just in front of us at the dinner table. There were chocolate boxes in front of them on the table. They were talking and both were showing chocolates and they were recommending us to eat some of them saying, "Take this, this one is very good or that one is very good." A few moments later I saw that some gravy or sauce got spilled over the dress of that lady, but she was not noticing it. When she realized that her dress was spoiled, she stood up in a hurry to clean. At that moment I gave a closer look at her dress and it became vividly clear to me that it was a purple colored dress. And my dream ended there.Next morning when I woke up, I told the dream to all my family members. We realized that God warned us through that dream of some kind of danger laid ahead of us.That day we went to the function. Of course we were cautious not to be in any kind of trap. As we sat there, we saw the couple entering the building. We all were astonished to see that the dress was of the same color that I saw in my dream. My sister leaned towards me and whispered in my ear, "Look, she is wearing purple colored dress!" And at the time of eating food we conveniently avoided the table in which they were sitting.Yes, my friend, God knows what is ahead of you and He is interested to show you the things to come. If you are a child of God and if the Spirit of God resides in you, He will guide you, lead you and protect you from all evil. Jesus said in John 14:17 & John 16:13, "the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come." If you have not yet received this precious Holy Spirit in your life, then you need to ask Jesus and He will certainly fill you with His Holy Spirit. Before you ask for the Holy Spirit make sure that you receive the forgiveness of your sins by repenting at His feet.

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
