Recently the storm that hit the east cost was so devastating that many lost their lives, so many lost their homes and many having no power and a big city like New York facing gas crisis. I was wondering how this storm had such power to destroy everything in a single day and thinking whether there could be a way that something exactly opposite would happen that could build everything in a day just as this storm did in destroying? When I was thinking I remembered how in the Bible that God created everything from nothing just by speaking His Word. He created everything in seven days. Not only that, when the Israelites came out of Egypt, when they saw the raging Red Sea in front of them and the great and mighty enemy just to the back of them, when they did not know what to do, God sent a strong east wind and pushed the sea water on either side to form a wall to them on their right hand and on their left so that they could go into the midst of the sea on dry ground, and the waters were divided as we read in Exodus 14:21-22, "Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left."Then we read in another place that when the Israelites were in the wilderness and when they needed food God once again sent a wind and it brought quail from the sea and left them fluttering near the camp as we read in Numbers 11:31-32, "Now a wind went out from the LORD, and it brought quail from the sea and left them fluttering near the camp, about a day's journey on this side and about a day's journey on the other side, all around the camp, and about two cubits above the surface of the ground. And the people stayed up all that day, all night, and all the next day, and gathered the quail (he who gathered least gathered ten homers); and they spread them out for themselves all around the camp."It is more interesting when we read in the Psalms how God provided food to the Israelites. Psalms 74:13-14, "You divided the sea by Your strength; You broke the heads of the sea serpents in the waters. You broke the heads of Leviathan in pieces, And gave him as food to the people inhabiting the wilderness."So God in His power can do anything. His powers are unlimited. But the question is, why these types of disasters take place in the first place? Bible tells us that sometimes disasters come because of sin. There are many incidents in the Bible that when the people or the king of the land committed sin, disasters came in the land or in the lives of people. But when the people sought God and walked in His holy ways, they saw blessings in their own lives and in the nation. We read in 1 King 15:11-13 that there was a king named Asa who walked in the ways of God. And he banished the perverted persons from the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made Also he removed Maachah his grandmother from being queen mother, because she had made an obscene image of Asherah. And Asa cut down her obscene image and burned it by the Brook Kidron."You can see that this king Asa took a bold step to even remove his grandmother's obscene image of Asherah and he even removed her from being queen mother. Sometimes it is hard to tell our close relatives and friends that they are on the wrong path rather than telling to a stranger. But Asa took this drastic measure because he saw the disaster other kings brought in the land because of their sins and he also witnessed the punishment that came to those who did not walk in the ways of God. Even today we need to correct ourselves before God as individuals and as a nation so that we could see the blessings of God. We need to get rid of the bad traditions within our family and the bad traditions followed by our forefathers and our nations. Let us not be ashamed to condemn the sins of our grandparents and straighten our relationship with God. And if we do so and if we walk in the holy ways of God, we will surely see His blessings coming in our lives.
In the Bible we read that God wants us to get forgiveness of our sins so that we could go to heaven. It is His earnest desire for every person that every person get saved as we read in 1 Timothy 2:3-6, "For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time."For this very reason Jesus came in this world and gave His precious life for us so that we could live and not die in our sins. He Himself gave a ransom for all. When and for whom would you give ransom? To redeem a person who is convicted and is in prison. Similarly we have sinned against God by breaking the Law of God and we need someone to come and redeem us. We cannot come out of our sins by ourselves. And Jesus paid the price in full to redeem us. Now we need to just come at His feet and accept Him as our Lord and Savior.At times people think that if they are going to Church, if they are living a religious life, they are fine but it is not true. But we need to individually get forgiveness of our sins and then only can we go to heaven. All those who call themselves to be Christians are not necessarily Christians but only those who have received forgiveness of their sins and those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.Once my sister saw an incredible vision and in that vision she saw that an angel was rubbing the foreheads of those who were either saved or about to get saved. There was a special prayer in our church and prior to that meeting we took some time to pray. As we were praying, my sister saw a vision. In her vision she saw the Church setting and a tall angel was walking in from the door where worship takes place. Then he moved from aisles to aisles, stood before each person and rubbed his hand on the forehead of people who were either already saved (washed by the blood of Jesus) or were going to get saved soon. And he skipped those who were not saved and went to others. Even some of the people who were seen in the vision, were wearing the same colored dresses in the evening, in the actual meeting.When she shared this vision I was so thankful to Jesus that in His great mercy He removes sins of those who accept Him and give their lives to Him. God wants every person to be saved and He is interested to remove the marks of iniquity from our lives and He wants to take us to heaven. No matter what your situation is today, no matter what sin you have committed, no matter how many days you have rejected the forgiveness offered by God, but if you come to Jesus today, He is ready to forgive and forget all your sins. He is ready to wash you whiter than snow.

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
