Psalms 105:1, "Oh, give thanks to the LORD! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples!"In the Bible we read about the importance of praising God and giving Him thanks. Once Jesus healed ten lepers but only one came back and thanked Him for the mighty acts Jesus did for him. That man was not a Jew but a foreigner and still he came back to glorify God. And Jesus said in Luke 17:17-19, "Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? "Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?" And He said to him, "Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well."How many times do we receive blessings from God, our prayers being answered, but do we really go back to God and fall at His feet and thank Him for what He had done for us? How many times when He actually wipes away our tears and as our problems vanish, so also our thoughts of gratitude towards Jesus or God also vanish from our minds. But God wants us to give thanks to Him every time no matter what our condition may be. Years ago I made up my mind to look at the things which God had already given to me and not to allow disappointments to settle in me for things which I don't have. It helped me to appreciate God and His goodness for me and my family. At times we worry too much and think that our problems are the greatest and who will help us.... But once when I was in a problem and when I was very much disappointed and thought that all our hopes are dashed. That evening I met a young lady. She was beautiful and was smiling and laughing. When we talked more, I came to know that the heartbreaks, hurts and pains she was hiding behind her beautiful smiles were far greater than mine. Seeing her from the outside she did not give a single hint as if she could be in such a big problem. I know that it is hard when we go through some troubles or sicknesses but when we think about the blessings and the goodness God has added in our lives we could understand that our problems are nothing. There is a beautiful song which says, "Count your blessings, name them one by one, Count your many blessings, and see what God has done. And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done."Let us thank God for what He has blessed with and let us give thanks and sing praises to Him. When we do this, we will see more blessings, deliverance and healing coming in our lives. Praising God brings deliverance and victory in our lives. There are many incidents where Bible tells us how people and kings praised God and how God miraculously gave them victory over their enemies or having brought healing and deliverance in their lives. More than all these things, Jesus gave His precious life for us so that we could come out of our sins and enter in heaven. How much we should thank Him for His great sacrifice which brought forgiveness of our sins. He paid the ultimate price for our sins and now we need to just come at His feet and ask for the forgiveness of our sins.
In the Bible we read that when a person receives the filling of Holy Spirit he/she would receive the gifts of Holy Spirit. In 1 Corinthians 12th chapter we read about nine gifts of the Holy Spirit and one of the gifts is the gift of discernment.1 Corinthians 12:10-11, "to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills."The gift of discernment gives ability to a person to understand which demons are working in the lives of people etc. When the gift of discernment is operating in the life of a person just by looking to another person he/she can tell whether that person is demon possessed or not. A few years back one day we were waiting for some people to come in our home. When a lady walked in, my dad looked at her and thought that she was looking like the particular woman who was supposed to come but she was not that person. As he was wondering who she could be, the lady who was supposed to come walked through the door? Now, he was completely puzzled and thought who she could be? When those people left, my dad asked, "Who was that lady who stood there pointing to a particular place?" We told him that there was no such person who came but he insisted that there was an extra lady in our house. Well, at that time we could not understand who she was and what her purpose could be in our home. But our home which is usually peaceful, that night a big fight broke out. I was very upset and I thought why it should happen to us? With much burden I started praying and started asking God, what went wrong? God spoke and said, "Because you were not prepared with prayer, the spirit of divorce has entered in your house." Lord also said that the lady brought that spirit of divorce with her and she left her at your house. I was completely shocked and I laughed, "Lord, we are not married, so what is the purpose in leaving divorce spirit in our home?" I asked. But result was more than clear before our eyes. We prayed hard, we commanded the divorce spirit to leave from the house in the name of Jesus, but the damage was already done. It was really a hard time for us and the effect of it was bad. But finally God gave us victory over that evil power. That was the first time my dad saw this open vision. Since then he saw many more visions and could see who is bringing what type of demons with them and what they are trying to do. God wants us to be equipped with His gifts so that we could bring deliverance in the lives of people just as Jesus went on doing good and bringing deliverance, healing and blessings in the lives of people. Not only that, God also wants us to discern every spirit so that we could not be deceived. He wants to bless us and wants to deliver us from all the tricks of the devil. If you come to Jesus, He is ready to bless you.

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
