Last week we saw how God promised Jacob in a dream assuring him that He will bring him back to his own land. Today I am going to speak about Joseph. Joseph was Jacob's son. When Joseph was a small boy he saw two dreams and he shared those dreams with his brothers. When the brothers heard those dreams they got very angry. Even his father when he heard the dream, he did not like it. The dreams were like this which we read in Genesis 37:6-11, "So he said to them, "Please hear this dream which I have dreamed: There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf. And his brothers said to him, "Shall you indeed reign over us? Or shall you indeed have dominion over us?" So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words. Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, "Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me." So he told it to his father and his brothers; and his father rebuked him and said to him, "What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall your mother and I and your brothers indeed come to bow down to the earth before you?" And his brothers envied him, but his father kept the matter in mind."Those dreams were beautiful and indicated pretty much clear what would happen to Joseph. It was more than clear from the dream that one day Joseph will be in such a high position that all his brothers and parents will have to bow down before him. But he did not know what was laid for him in between. Sometimes people think that dreams and visions would come to pass as soon as they are revealed by God. But not so as there is a time for everything and happens in its specific time alone. Of course some dreams may come to pass immediately but not all.Soon after his seeing those dreams he was sold by his brothers to be a slave and he ended up as a slave in Egypt. But God was with him and prospered him in all his ways. Then tragedy struck him again that he was falsely accused and thrown into prison. In those dark moments of his life, in those terrible, painful, tearful days of his life, I am sure that his only source of comfort would have been those dreams. No matter how odd the situations were that he faced, no matter what he went through, but he very well knew that, "one day"... "one day"... God will bring those dreams to reality. When negative thoughts might have come in his mind bringing doubt that, "I will not be able to see my father again, I will not be able to meet my family again..." In those moments he would have shaken away those thoughts and would have said in his heart that the same God who did mighty and awesome miracles in the lives of his parents and grand parents' would one day visit him.He kept on going because he believed that the future which God had already shown him through dreams will come to pass and not to rely on his circumstances. And of course a day came when he saw his brothers who came to buy food fell on their faces and bowed down before him not recognizing that Joseph was the governor of Egypt. What a joyous moment it was for Joseph! Oh, He would have cried with tears of joy. And soon that day also came when he met his father. The dream indeed looked silly and unbelievable but when God gives dream it comes to pass. The dreams of Joseph indeed looked strange and unimaginable but one day the dreams came to pass. It looked very strange how all the members of the family of the shepherd boy would bow before him and give him respect. It took many years but finally it got fulfilled. The brothers of Joseph who wanted to kill him by any means could not kill him. Instead they had to bow down and beg for their own lives. Joseph who was once no one in the sight of his elder brothers became prime minister of Egypt and the big, bossy brothers had to beg for their lives. My friend, God of the Bible is the God who fulfills His promise. If He has spoken something to you, it will surely come to pass. No matter what you go through, no matter what heartbreaks come on your way, He will one day bring it to pass. But you need to make sure that you do not loose your faith but cling on to Him. If you are faithful, He will bring great deliverance in your life. Triumph would be yours and you will see your enemies defeated right before your eyes.Have you given your life to Jesus? If not, this is the time, this is the moment, give your life to Jesus. He will bless your life.
Jacob was fleeing to his uncle's house and at that moment he saw a dream which we read in Genesis 28:10-15, "Now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran. So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep. Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. And behold, the LORD stood above it and said: "I am the LORD God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants. Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed. Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you."What a great vision it was and what a clear picture that one day Jacob would come back to his own land but he did not know how and when. Bible tells us that when he reached his uncle's house, his days were difficult and filled with hardship and tears. But one day he decided to leave his uncle's house and started his journey knowing that his uncle could harm him. And indeed his uncle had power to harm him but God miraculously saved Jacob and his whole family showing a dream to Laban his uncle. Genesis 31:24 say, "But God had come to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said to him, "Be careful that you speak to Jacob neither good nor bad." And in Genesis 31:29, Laban says to Jacob, "It is in my power to do you harm, but the God of your father spoke to me last night, saying, 'Be careful that you speak to Jacob neither good nor bad.'"Further Jacob says that because God was with him God rebuked Laban. If God is with us, He will do the same thing. He will not allow our enemies to triumph over us. He will not allow your enemies to kill you or harm you.I would like to share a dream, which my brother saw almost twenty years back. It was in the year 1992 I believe. One morning as we were having our morning tea my brother told about his dream. He said, "I saw in my dream that three parrots died on the terrace due to heat." We laughed and asked, 'what a silly dream it is', that we hear "three parrots died on terrace but why?" Well none of us knew at that time that it was a very serious dream. There were riots going on because Hindus had demolished Babri Mosque of U.P India. There were wide spread looting and arson going on and mobs were burning shops and vehicles. It was 11 in the morning and my brother said to us let us get on the terrace to see what was happening outside. So we three my brother, my sister and I went up to look. My dad was in US at that time and at home my mom was there. After a few minutes as we were looking we saw that trucks and shops were burning and we heard gun shots. Later on we figured out that someone was shooting from nearby. 4-5 shots were fired on us and one bullet just went above our heads. I turned back to look and asked my brother, "was it a bird flying above our head? But bird can't fly making this much high sound 'zooioooo' and with such a high speed." At that time my mom shouted from below saying, why are you standing there... I hear gun shots.. Come down and stay inside the house." As we turned back and walked toward the stairways we heard more shots. The bullets were fired on us from 8-10 feet away but God had protected us. We went down and sat inside our home.After an hour or so we discussed and said, "May be nothing was there and we may have just felt something. Let's get up to the terrace to see what was happening." What a foolish idea it was. We didn't know that death was waiting for an opportunity. We three climbed up again and a few minutes later a person next door came out. They had one room on the terrace so he climbed up on it. At that point don't know why my brother said, "Let me climb up on the water tank to see what was happening far away." As he climbed up, right away he got down from the tank and said, "let us get down as that person had just taken out his gun from his pocket." So we got down and escaped. What a great God He is. He knew what that person was planning against us. How true the dream was, "three parrots died on terrace due to heat." God not only showed the dream but sent His angels and protected us from bullet shots. It was just the beginning time of our ministry and we were just learning how God speaks through dreams and what He shows through those dreams. If God had not protected us that day, we three or any of us would have been dead. If you love God and if you are a saved and spirit filled person God protects His own. You know your times are in His hands and before time no one can kill you. More than that what God has promised He will fulfill no matter what comes on your way. Jacob had no way that he could ever have come out of his uncle's claws yet God made a way and brought him back. The same God is willing to do awesome and mighty things in your life, if you give your life in His mighty hands. He is knocking at your heart's door as we read in Revelation 3:20, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me."Would you hear His voice and answer His call today? Would you invite the creator of the universe in your heart? If you do so, I guarantee you that you will never be the same again.

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month.
