John 3:16-17, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."

Probably this is the most read and memorized verse in the Bible. But how many of us who are born in a Christian family have understood the true meaning of this verse? Love is not that when you see someone dying in sin, that when you know someone is stuck up in a burning building, that you do nothing about it. Often people say that so and so is living in a gay lifestyle and say that we need to accept their choice. Accepting their choice is not love but true love is to do something to bring those persons out of their sinful state. Because Bible tells us that God wants every person to live and not die as we read in Ezekiel 18:30-32, "Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways," says the Lord GOD. "Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin. Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies," says the Lord GOD. "Therefore turn and live!"

Though the leaders of Sodom and Gomorrah thought that homosexual lifestyle is not a problem and yet God considered it as sin. Genesis 13:13 tells, "But the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful against the LORD." And in Genesis 18:20, "God considered their sins as very grave." But only Lot was righteous among them. So God gave an opportunity for Lot and his family to escape from the coming wroth of God. Yes, sin is terrible; it destroys the lives of people. Not only does it destroys one physically but also spiritually and send them to hell. Now what was their sin? Their sin was that they never tried to repent and turn back to God. They kept on sinning and never thought to listen to God and His word and turn from their evil ways.

But today God is giving to everyone of us a chance to escape from eternal death and hell fire. For this very purpose Jesus came into this world to die and give His precious life for us. If you continue in your sins, one day death and hell fire awaits you but if you repent and turn from your wicked ways, God will give you a new life. He will forgive and forget all your sins and He will redeem you from all unrighteousness.

That's the greatest love you could ever find that someone died on behalf of you so that you may not die. Jesus loved us so much that He did not say, 'you are in a burning building and you continue to be there', but He came just to rescue us from wickedness and sin. Would you give your life to Jesus today?

Have Courage to say NO!! -Part 2

By Sherly Isaac

Once I read a true story of a man named Archibald Boyle who lived in 18th century. In Glasgow, Scotland there was a club of gentlemen of the first rank in that city. They met daily to play cards, to drink alcohol to blaspheme and to have sex. These gentlemen were distinguished as fearless, and they gloried in the name they acquired for the club " The Hell Club". It was an infidel association of wild and wicked men and Archibald Boyle was the leading member of that club. They would gather to drink, blaspheme God and licentiousness of all who shone on these occasions none shone half so brilliantly as Archibald Boyle. Though his heart was totally corrupted, he retained all his remarkable beauty of face and person, with all external elegance of manners. So he continued to be favorite in the fairest female society of his day.

He lived in sin and did not consider God anything. Slowly he became the prominent of that club and indulged in much more sin. One night on retiring to sleep after returning from one of the annual meetings of the club Boyle dreamt that he was still riding as usual upon his famous black horse towards his own house. Then a country sight surrounded by ancient trees and situated upon a hill now built over by the most fashionable part of Glasgow and that he was suddenly approached by some one whose personal appearance he could not distinctly discerned in the gloom of night. He seized the reins and said "You must go with me." Archibald Boyle asked, "Who are you and struggled for the reins, 'you will see by and by' was the answer. As Boyle desperately tried to force the reins from the hands of the unknown guide, the horse reared. Boyle fell down, down, down with increasing speed. “Where are you taking me?” The cold voice replied, “To hell!”

The echoes of the groans and yells of frantic revelry assaulted their ears. At the entrance to hell, Boyle saw the inmates chasing the same pleasures they had pursued in life. Boyle became aware of some of his friends whom he had known in earth, but were sometime dead; each one going through very bitter agony and pain and remembering the vain activities they were involved in while on earth. There he saw his former friend whom he had known playing her favorite vulgar game. Boyle relaxed, thinking hell must be a pleasurable place after all. When he asked her to rest a moment and show him through the pleasures of hell, she exclaimed, “Rest! There is no rest in hell!” and from different pits, voices, as loud as thunder, repeated the awful heart-withering sound: "There is no rest in hell!” She and others showed to him that how they were tormented by fiery serpents and molten lava.

“Take me from this place!” Boyle demanded. “By the living God whose name I have so often outraged, I beg you, let me go!” His guide replied, “Go then—but in a year and a day we meet to part no more.”

At this, Boyle awoke, feeling that these last words were as letters of fire burned into his heart. He was so frightened that for many days he could not do anything, for a few days he could not even leave his bed, he also did not go to club many nights and resolved never again to attend the hell club. He found one Bible and he started to read the Bible. One day a friend of his who was also a club member came to meet him. He found him reading Bible, in desperation, he hid the Bible. The friend asked him what that book was, why he was not going to club and why he was not drinking anymore. He and other friends started insisting on him going back to the club. When they insisted too much he went back to the club. He found no comfort there. He grew haggard and gray under the weight of his conscience and fear of the future. He dreaded attending the Club’s annual meeting, but his companions forced him to attend. Every nerve of his body writhed in agony at the first sentence of the president’s opening address: “Gentlemen, this is leap year; therefore it is a year and a day since our last annual meeting.”
He drank heavily that day and after the meeting, he mounted his house to ride home. Next morning, his horse was found grazing quietly by the roadside. A few yards away lay the corpse of Archibald Boyle. The strange guide had claimed him at the appointed time.

This young man had no courage to say no to his friends and that he continued in sin. What a tragic end for a young man who had no courage to say yes to God.

My friend, sin would take you to hell. Devil can give you pleasures of this world for some time but a day will come when you have to stand before God and His judgment seat. Would you be able to stand before the Holy God with your head raised high or have to be ashamed before Him and others? The decision you make today will affect your life forever.

We all have sinned as we read in Bible that says in Romans 3:23, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" And the sin's penalty is death as we read in Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

But thanks to Jesus who came in this world and gave His precious life for us so that we could have eternal life. Jesus said in John 5:24, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life."

Why should you die foolishly when Jesus had already made a way for you? Why should you go to hell when Jesus had already paid the penalty for your sins? Just come to Jesus, repent for your sins, He is ready to forgive and forget all your sins. He is ready to give you a holy life.

If you want to have eternal life, please repent from your sins and ask Jesus from the bottom of your heart.
Please pray this prayer with me: Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. Today I repent from my sins and ask you to wash me with your precious blood, the pure and holy blood that was shed on the cruel cross. I promise you that from now on I will live according to your will. I invite you in my heart as my Lord and Savior. Today come into my life and become my Lord and Savior. I thank you Jesus for giving me eternal life. I give all the glory to you. In Jesus name I pray Amen.
