Jesus showed Himself to many after His resurrection from the dead and it was the reason of great joy for His disciples and for those who spent some years with Him. When they saw Jesus it brought great peace and joy in their despaired minds. Some times we also go through so much of troubles, so many tears and problems that we just do not know what to do in those situations. But Jesus said in John 14:18, "I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you." No matter what we go through, no matter what our situations may be, if we have given our lives to Jesus, He will not leave us alone but He will walk with us in our troubles in our tears in our joys.

We read in the Bible that the same day when Jesus resurrected from the dead, two of His disciples were traveling to a village called Emmaus, which was seven miles from Jerusalem. And they talked together of all those things which had happened. While they conversed and reasoned Jesus Himself drew near and went along with them. But their eyes were restrained so that they did not recognize Him. And He said to them, "What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you walk and are sad?" Then the one whose name was Cleopas answered and said to Him, "Are You the only stranger in Jerusalem, and have You not known the things which happened there in these days?" And He said to them, "What things?" So they said to Him, "The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death, and crucified Him. But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, today is the third day since these things happened. Yes, and certain women of our company, who arrived at the tomb early, astonished us. When they did not find His body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said He was alive. And certain of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said; but Him they did not see." Then Jesus said to them, "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! "Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?" And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself. Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and He indicated that He would have gone farther. But they constrained Him, saying, "Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent." And He went in to stay with them. Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight. And they said to one another, "Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?" So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, saying, "The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!" And they told about the things that had happened on the road, and how He was known to them in the breaking of bread. (Luke 24:13-35)

When these two disciples saw Jesus and recognized Him, they got so excited that they returned back to Jerusalem by night and told their story to the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, saying, "The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!"

This is what happens when a person meets the creator of the universe. Everything changes in a split second. The dullness, the sorrow, the grief they experienced every thing vanished and they were so filled with great excitement that they immediately returned to Jerusalem. They proclaimed the Good News to others.

If you meet the resurrected Jesus you cannot contain the joy and peace to yourself but you will go immediately and tell the story of yours to the world so that others also could find the same joy and peace you have found. Jesus has won victory over death and He is still alive. He is ready to forgive your sins and fill you with great peace and joy if you just give your life to Him.

Not Believing in Jesus is SIN

By Sheela Isaac

John 16:8, "And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
John 16:9, "of sin, because they do not believe in Me;

Not believing in Jesus is sin. If you don't believe in Jesus it means that you do not believe in the creator of this universe who created you. In other words by not believing you are rejecting your maker and that's why it is sin. A sinner can't enter into heaven.

You might ask why Jesus only? What about the hundreds of religions and gods over there? I would like to say: test them and see whether they are holy. If they show any human sinful nature in their behavior they can't be God. God can't be sinful. God can't steal. God can't be sexually immoral. God can't go after women. God can't tell lie or cheat. If you see any kind of sinful nature in any of the gods, they can't be God. If any scripture allows sexual immorality then it is not from God. If they say you can marry 4 wives or keep many wives/husbands then it is not coming from God. If they say 'Divorce' is NOT SIN then it is not God speaking. God can't allow sin, division, ruin, fighting, quarreling etc within families. If you test on the basis of holiness you will come to know very soon that ONLY JESUS could fulfill that requirement and that's why ONLY JESUS is God.

You might say I am a Christian born in a Christian home and attend church that's why I am a believer. Does it make you a believer? No absolutely not. A kitten born in a car garage can't become car. In the same way a person born in a Christian home can't become a follower of Christ unless and until he/she reconciles with Jesus by confessing his sin and receiving forgiveness of sin. Your Christian name and Christian title can't make you a Christian. Jesus said that they will know you by the fruits. You can't live a clean and holy life unless and until Jesus comes in your heart. If you have received forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ you can see the changes in your life and you will be able to bear good fruits.

Mathew 7:17, "Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
Mathew 7:18, "A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.
Mathew 7:19, "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
Mathew 7:20, "Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

Conviction of sin and the desire to stay away from sin comes only when prompted by Holy Spirit or when you are saved. Recently I was reading the book by Br. PG Vargis on his life story. His life was filled with sin but when Jesus came into his life, his life changed and then he longed to live a holy life. Once when he was in his office typing a letter to his wife his boss saw that and he said, "Preacher are you doing personal work in office?" Br. replied, "I have completed the work." Then the next time he was again typing the letter and his boss saw it. He said, "Preacher are you doing your personal work in office?" Br. replied the same thing that he finished the work then the officer said, "Do you know the paper you are using is not yours"? Then he thought, 'it is only a page what difference it makes?' Then he was prompted by the Holy Spirit and he realized that it was stealing though it was only a paper. Then he went to his boss and apologized and asked for his forgiveness. Then he decided to never take things not belonging to him. Only through the Holy Spirit these kinds of convictions come and Holy Spirit prompts us to leave sinful life style and start living a holy life.

So if you are not saved you can't live a clean life. If you are saved you need to ask yourself about every actions you do, "Is it good or bad, will this please Jesus or not?". Then you need to repent to get rid of that sin.

In Luke 18 we read the same thing that without faith you can't please God. When Jesus will come if He finds faith in you then only you will be able to go with Him in heaven.
Luke 18:8, ".. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?"

We read the story of a Pharisee and a tax collector.

Luke 18:9, "Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
Luke 18:10, "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
Luke 18:11, "The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not like other men; extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.
Luke 18:12, 'I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.'
Luke 18:13, "And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner!'
Luke 18:14, "I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."

Repentance is the key to get rid of sin and to please Jesus. You and I could be like this Pharisee who ignored the laws of God. Instead he tried to follow his rituals. He was trying to tell God how holy he was. How good he was. How he fasted, how he gave offering in church. But Jesus tried to tell that he did those rituals to show people but his heart was corrupt and sinful. God did not consider this man holy. But on the other side the tax collector who was sinful but wanted to repent from his sin. He wanted to live a clean life there after. He wanted to please God. He went back justified by God. He was accepted by God.

Which example would you like to follow? Like the Pharisee with tradition and rituals or like this tax collector who realized his sin and repented. Like the Pharisee who thought himself to be good and honorable but in the sight of God he was a bad sinner or like this tax collector who went justified because he humbled himself and wanted to live a holy life? You can decide your eternity today. You can come to Jesus with a contrite heart and repent from your sin and become a child of God. You can come at the feet of Jesus and earn a place in heaven. If you would like to receive Jesus into your heart as your Lord and Savior please pray this prayer with me. Please pray this prayer from the bottom of your heart.

Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. Please forgive and forget my sins. Wash me with your precious blood. Cleanse my life thoroughly. I repent of my sins. I feel really sorry for my sinful life. Lord please forgive my sins and give me a new life. Give me eternal life. Help me Lord so that hereafter I could live a holy and clean life which pleases you. Thank you for listening to my prayers. I receive you today as my Lord and Savior. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
