What a great tragedy in Uttarakhand, India! More than 200 villages swept away in floods in the mountains of Himalaya. Thousands are still stranded. It happened when there was heavy rain because of cloudburst and there was mudslide. Without warning flash flood came and swept away everything on its path. Many were unaware before hand of the coming flood and they were caught in it. If anybody knew it coming, no one would have gone there or would have taken precaution before hand.

Bible talks about the great flood of Noah. Before the flood came God told Noah to make an ark which he did and probably he preached to people of his generation but it seems no one listened to his message.

Time and time again Jesus told the people that there would be a time when He will come back to judge the world. He warned people to be prepared so that they can be with Him forever. When He was in this world, He spoke in parables that we should not be unaware of the coming judgment.

In Matthew 25:1-13 we read of one of the parables, "Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight a cry was heard: 'Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!' Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' "But the wise answered, saying, 'No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.' "And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. "Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us!' "But he answered and said, 'Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.' "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming."

Those who have given their lives in the hands of Jesus, those who have received forgiveness of their sins are eligible to enter into heaven and be with Him when He comes again. Are you ready? Have you given your life to Jesus? If not, it is time to repent from your sins and turn around. This is the time to meet the creator of this universe before calamity hits. You will never know when your time on this earth will end. But if you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you need not to fear of that day because you will be in heaven.

If you want to go to heaven please pray this prayer with me:
Lord Jesus, I am a sinner but you gave your precious life for my sins so that my sins could be forgiven. Today, I come to you with repentance, please forgive and forget all my sins and wash me with your precious blood. I invite you as my Lord and Savior. I thank you Jesus for giving me eternal life and a place in heaven. I pray this prayer in Jesus name, Amen.

Once I read the biography of Morris Cerullo a mighty man of God. He very much wanted to go to Greece for preaching the Gospel. Finally God answered his prayers as he received an invitation to go to Greece. When he went there, he found out that people were very much poor and were not able to afford the cost of the meeting. So he went ahead and gave all the money he brought with him for the expanses of the meeting. The meetings were very successful, mighty and awesome miracles happened. Every night the crowd got bigger, many got healed, many got mighty miracles and more than that every night ninety percent of the crowd came forward to give their lives to Jesus.

He writes in his book titled, "Son build me an army" that, "As the time approached to close the meetings, I found myself being saddened by what I considered a premature end of what God was doing here.

But the financial reality was that I was flat broke.

We were prohibited from taking any offerings in the meetings. I had to sponsor everything, rent the hall, print the handbills - everything. This was my first overseas meeting; I was not prepared.

I had spent every penny of the little bit of money I had brought with me printing handbills, paying rent on the building, buying advertisements in the newspapers and renting the room I was staying in. In fact, I had even spent the money I had intended to tide me over for my trip to Israel after the end of the meetings. I knew this meant I would not be able to go on that trip, but I considered it to be worth it for the salvation of the Greek people that God had wrought.

As I was thinking about not wanting to close the meetings, Rev. Frnangus approached me.

"Brother Cerullo," he said, with concern in his eyes. "You can't close this meeting."

But we had not been given permission by the government to take offerings at the meetings. We simply had no money to continue after my money had run out. I knew how brother Frangus felt, but I simply had no solution for him.

"I'm sorry, Brother Frangus," I said, "Tomorrow night, I must close the meeting."

I suggested to Brother Frangus that he might try calling the Assemblies of God headquarters to get a few thousand dollars to keep the meeting going.

"Brother Cerullo," he explained to me, "there is too much red tape. By the time the money got here, it would be too late."

I did not want to close the meetings. I did not want to tell these precious, hungry people "no," simply because I didn't have the money to continue.

I knew God had answered my needs before; He had never let me down before, and I had no reason to believe He would let me down now.

That night, the privacy of my little hotel room, I sought the Lord in prayer, weeping and lying on my face.

"Lord, you hear what these ministers are asking me," I said to God. "They have told me of the stripes on their backs that they have received for the sake of the Gospel. Now the freedom is here. Lord, they don't want this meeting to close. I don't want it to close, but I don't know what to do!"

These ministers had suffered so much for the Gospel. I just didn't see how God would now let money stand in the way where laws, persecution and beatings hadn't stood in the way before.

God spoke to me in the midst of my prayer to Him, "Son you've got the money."

That was a shock.

"Oh, boy, this is wonderful," I replied to God. "I've got the money!" I was so excited. I was wondering what miraculous providence God had done to get the money we needed. I couldn't even imagine in my head how He would accomplish getting enough money to keep the meetings going. I had seen God do so many miraculous things, I couldn't begin to guess how he had done this one.

"Lord, do you mind telling me where I've got the money?" I asked Him. "If You tell me where it is, I'll go get it."

I didn't know what to expect, but I certainly didn't expect what happened.

You've got the money at home," God said.

I thought to myself, "No, You wouldn't ask that. Surely You are not asking me to give the money Theresa and I have in the bank for our little dream house."

"Lord," I said, "I can't do that. I can do a lot of things, but I can't do that. That has to be Theresa's decision."

Theresa had waited so long for that little house. She had never complained that we had to live with her mother. She had never complained that we seemed to live out of our car more than we lived inside four walls.

Theresa had never complained about some of the ratty hotel rooms we stayed in. She never once complained about having to pack up our young children and cart them along to town after town, night after night.

Now, when she finally had a place she could call home in her sights, I couldn't imagine telling her that she couldn't have it.

I also couldn't deny God. I knew I had to call Theresa and let her know the situation. I would let her make the decision, though. I would not force her to give up her dream house.

When I heard the phone ringing, at Theresa's mother's house back in United States, I missed her more at that moment than I had allowed myself to think about the past few weeks. I wished Theresa could be with me here, witnessing the tremendous miracles God was doing in the lives of these precious Greek people.

When Theresa answered the phone, her voice, crackly and very quiet over the thousands of miles of telephone wire, made me miss her even more.

I explained to my precious wife what God was doing in the meetings in Greece, how He was saving hundreds of people, healing the sick and working all kinds of wondrous miracles.

Theresa sounded as excited as I was, praising God as I told her of His miracles.

I swallowed a lump in my throat. Here was the big moment. "Darling," I said, "I can't go on with the meeting. I don't have any more money."

I had expected that announcement to be met with silence, or a gasp or something. But I was shocked as Theresa immediately answered my statement.

"Sweetheart, I know why you're calling," she said. "You want me to take the money for our new house and send it to you."

Wow, I thought. I didn't know if God had revealed it to her, or if my wife just knew me better than I gave her credit for. Regardless, I was caught flat-footed. The only thing I could think of to say was, "I didn't ask."

"You didn't have to ask," she said. I could almost hear her smiling on the other end of the line. "I'll send the money to you."

That day, I learned something about my wife I will never forget. Theresa had silently stood with me, day and night, though the toughest trials we had faced up to this point in the ministry. When we were comfortable in our pastorate, she had given up that security for a life of uncertainty on the road while she was pregnant with our first child. She had always been willing to do whatever God asked to ensure the Gospel was taken all over the world.

They say that behind every successful man, there is a great woman.

That statement has never been truer than of Theresa Cerullo. Many people can talk about the great battles that have been won by this ministry, the tremendous salvations that have taken place all over the world, the incredible breakthroughs that have come as a result of this ministry, and when they talk about those things, they are also talking about the faithfulness of my precious wife, who to this very day has always been willing to give up anything and everything when God asked.

I remembered the story of Barnabas in the book of Acts.

"And Joses, who was also named Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated Son of Encouragement), a Levite of the country of Cyprus, having land, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles' feet." (Acts 4:36-37)

My wife, just as Barnabas, had taken her dream home and laid it at the feet of the ministry so more souls would be won to the Lord!

Theresa withdrew our savings from the bank where we had placed it, waiting for the house to be completed.

She immediately took the money and wired it to me.

It was just enough to enable us to continue the meetings in Greece.

After we had obtained permission from the authorities, we continued the meetings.

Night after night, again, God continued to bless the meetings, healing the sick and leading the lost to Jesus.

The miracles and crowds only got larger every night.

I was very sad when I had to leave Greece, but I knew when I left, the work that had been established there would continue and grow. Even though when I ran out of money, I thought I would have to sacrifice my next trip to Israel, I now had enough money from what Theresa had wired to continue to Israel.

I knew in my heart that God had called me to eventually reach out to the Jews, and I felt a sense of destiny as the airplane flew over the Mediterranean Sea westward toward Israel.

As the airplane approached the promised land, I gazed out the tiny window by my seat at the land of Israel for the first time in my life.

I got on the plane in Tel Aviv and prepared for the long bumpy journey back to New York City.

The flight was no shorter than it had been on my way to Greece, and it was no less bumpy, but somehow, it seemed to pass faster and smoother.

As the plane approached the United States, I could see the skyline of New York City in the distance on the horizon. I had never lived in the city, but right now, no place had ever looked more like home to me.

When the plane touched down, I could hardly wait to get my carry-on bags and deplane. I knew that below was my family, probably awaiting my return just as anxiously as I was.

I peeked out the window and saw Theresa holding little Susan with one hand, and holding onto little David's hand with her other hand as he stood right beside her leg. They hadn't spotted me inside the plane, so they didn't know I was looking at them, but I had never seen a more beautiful sight than my little family standing there waiting for Daddy to get off the plane.

As I got off the plane, the first thing I did was pull the pockets of my pants out, exposing their empty contents. We all cried together.

As I began ministering around the nations of the world, it became something of a joke in our family - when I came home, Theresa would see if my pockets were empty to judge whether I had really stayed and ministered long enough.

All I had was a few coins in my hand.

"This is it." I said, holding out my hand, with the small change in it. "This is the only thing standing between us and our next meal."

Theresa smiled at me, her beautiful eyes twinkling with joy. I knew within myself that she didn't care at all about the money situation, she was glad to have me home, but I couldn't see how she could be any more glad to have me than I was to be home with her.

We had lost our house, and because we hadn't come through with the money to buy the house, we had also lost the six-hundred dollar deposit we had paid down on the house.

To be continue....

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
