Autumn is known as Fall in USA and Canada. You could see leaves turning to yellow, red, brown and finally start falling in the month of October. It reminds us that summer is about to end and winter season is on the horizon. Before winter, there comes a great change. Leaves of most of the trees would fall and rows and rows of trees stand without leaf. Ah, and no one could imagine that those trees which shed their leaves standing as if lifeless, for six months or so would start to put forth leaves again, start to bud again, start to spring again.

Once I read about, why the leaves fall in fall season, and I am posting excerpts of that article here:
According to Peter Raven, president of the Missouri Botanical Garden and a renowned botanist, the wind doesn't gently pull leaves off trees. Trees are more proactive than that. They throw their leaves off. Instead of calling this season "The Fall," if trees could talk they'd call this the "Get Off Me" season.
Here's why. Around this time of year in the Northern Hemisphere, as the days grow shorter and colder, those changes trigger a hormone in leaf-dropping trees that sends a chemical message to every leaf that says, in essence, "Time to go! Let's part company!"
Once the message is received, says Raven, little cells appear at the place where the leaf stem meets the branch. They are called "abscission" cells. They have the same root as the word scissors, meaning they are designed, like scissors, to make a cut. And within a few days or weeks, every leaf on these deciduous trees develops a thin bumpy line of cells that push the leaf, bit by bit, away from the stem.
Trees that drop their leaves seal the spots where the leaves are attached. Then fluids cannot flow in and out of the leaves, which change color and fall off. The falling of the leaves does more than mark the season. It also helps the tree survive the cold, dry air of winter. In the warm seasons, leaves use sunlight, water, and air to make the tree’s food. In that process, the tree loses a lot of water through tiny holes in the leaves. In winter, the tree does not get enough water to replace what it would lose through the leaves. If the tree did not seal the spots where the leaves grow, it would die. When spring brings warm air and fresh water, the tree will sprout new leaves and start growing again.

And for the survival of the trees it is necessary that those leaves be pushed out. So I would say that everything happens for good. Some times we go through tough times and rough seasons in our lives but the Bible tells us in Romans 8:28, "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."

Why those rough seasons come in our lives, we do not know but God knows what is ahead of us and to prevent us from death and destruction, He allows rough seasons in our lives. Not only that but also God is able to bring us out of those grave situations and help us to spring again, help us bloom again, help us to have great and wonderful days ahead. You might have thought everything is over for you, but if you have given your life in the hands of Jesus, you need not to worry because you are safe in the hands of Jesus.

Jesus not only wants to give us protection in this life but also He wants to give us eternal protection from going to hell fire. For this very purpose He came in this world and gave His life for us that we may get forgiveness of our sins. Would you come to Jesus for your eternal safety?

The God who comes searching for us! Part 3

By Sherly Isaac

In the Bible we read the story of a woman who was in dire need of help. Her name was Hagar. This little girl who came to serve Sarah as her maid found favor in the eyes of her mistress. Even so that Sarah gave her to become Abraham's wife. But when Hagar saw that she had conceived, her mistress became despised in her eyes. Bible tells us that when Sarah dealt with her harshly, she fled from her presence. But in Genesis 16:7-13, "Now the Angel of the LORD found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, by the spring on the way to Shur. And He said, "Hagar, Sarai's maid, where have you come from, and where are you going?" She said, "I am fleeing from the presence of my mistress Sarai." "The Angel of the LORD said to her, "Return to your mistress, and submit yourself under her hand." Then the Angel of the LORD said to her, "I will multiply your descendants exceedingly, so that they shall not be counted for multitude. And the Angel of the LORD said to her: "Behold, you are with child, And you shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael, Because the LORD has heard your affliction. He shall be a wild man; His hand shall be against every man, And every man's hand against him. And he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren." Then she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, You-Are-the-God-Who-Sees; for she said, "Have I also here seen Him who sees me?"

Here we see that God came searching for her and told her what to do in her dire situation. So Hagar returns and stays there for many more years. But when Ishmael was about fourteen years old, Abraham gave Hagar a water bottle and some food and sent away Hagar and Ishmael. And they left and wandered in the Wilderness of Beersheba. Now Beersheba is a desert place and not much trees there and you cannot find water source easily in that place. So Hagar, not knowing what to do, where to go and no one was there to help. She wandered there and soon the water in the skin was used up, and she placed the boy under one of the shrubs. Then she went and sat down across from him at a distance of about a bowshot; for she said to herself, "Let me not see the death of the boy." So she sat opposite him, and lifted her voice and wept.

But the same God who came searching for her previously heard her from heaven and answered her from heaven. Isn't it amazing that when she thought everything was lost, when she thought that she has reached to the end of her and her son's life at that very moment, God answered her cry. Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. And she went and filled the skin with water, and gave the lad a drink.

Hagar and Ishmael's story did not end that day but they lived many more years.

Yes, my friend, there is a God who loves us, who cares for us, He wants to wipe away our tears and He wants to bless us. Because of His great love for us He came searching for us from heaven to save us from our sins. He went to the cross, shed His precious blood so that we could come out of our sins and have eternal life.

Today you may be in dire situation, you might have lost all your hope but if you look to Jesus, He can help you.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
