In India there was a preacher. One day when he came back after preaching in a successful meeting, he saw huge crowd standing out side his house and when he inquired what the matter is, people said that his only son has died. His heart was broken and he didn't know what to do? In that painful situation he wrote a beautiful song in the Malayalam language. Song is like this: "Dukhatinde pana patram kartav yande kayil tannalsantoshotod atu vangi hallelujah padidum nan...."The meaning of this song is:"If God gives me the cup of sorrow I will gladly take it and sing praises to God." Yes, my friend, he sang praises to God but if we think about his situation, how difficult was it for him to praise God... But praise brings victory, joy and blessings of God in our lives we see in the life of Isralites that they saw mighty things of God. But instead of praising God they murmured and the result was that they died in the wilderness. They could not get the blessings of God because of their murmuring. Not only in this thanksgiving day but in all the days of our lives we must praise God, no matter whatever may be the situation.We wish you all the readers of In Search of Peace Magazine, a very happy thanksgiving day and joyous holidays.If you have any prayer request please feel free to send it to us. Beyond Turkey

If we read in the book of 2nd Chronicle, we can see that King Jehoshaphat was in deep trouble because enemies stood against him and they came in great multitude as the Bible says in 2 Chr 20:1-2 It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle. Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi. And Jehoshaphat was afraid so much that he called the people and declared a fast in Judah.... And Bible says in 2 Chr 20:21-23 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever. And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another. My dear friend, today, may be multitudes of problems arise against you and you may be wondering what to do next? Look to Jesus, start praising God for all the situation you have and He will deliver you. If we see in the life of Job, he was a God fearing man, a wealthy man as the Bible says in Job 1:3 His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east. And also he had seven sons and 3 daughters. But suddenly one day he loses everything, his wealth, his possession, his sons and daughters, his health as the Bible says in Job 2:7 So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown. And even his wife said in Job 2:9-10 Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips. And also the Bible says in Job 1:20-22 Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly." And finally we see that whatever Job lost God gave him double of all the things back. My dear friend, May be you are in this situation today and thinking that you have lost every thing and there is no hope for anything. But start praising God and you will see the abundant blessing coming from God.May God bless you!!
Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 12th Aug. 2008
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 12th Aug. 2008
