When people came with gifts to attend the reception of a newly wedded couple, they were shocked to see the reception hall turned into a funeral place of the newly wedded couple. Joy was turned into mourning. It happened years back, when a newly wedded couple died in a horrible road accident, and the people who were invited to attend their reception attended their funeral with tears. Oh, Death, how cruel it is... its very thought makes our bone chilling. Many a times we avoid to even think about death, but it is a bitter fact that one day or other it will come to everyone whether smaller or bigger, rich or poor..... Last week I attended a tax return seminar. The financial advisor was asked whether there is any guarantee to receive back the money we invest? He replied, "No guaranty for anything, but there is guaranty for only one thing - death." But, I have a good news for you today my friend, there is guaranty for eternal life too.. The Bible says in John 10:10 "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." And also the Bible says in John 10:28 "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand." On the one side the enemy(devil) wants to kill and destroy and to send us to eternal hell while on the other side, God wants us to give us eternal life, a life full of joy, happiness and abundant life. Now the question is, how can a person get this eternal life? The Bible says in John 17:3, "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." By knowing the true God personally. How many people know that a simple prayer of confessing their sins and accepting Christ as their personal Lord and savior can save them from hell fire and give them eternal life. The moment you say, "O, Lord Jesus I am a sinner, please forgive my sins and wash me with your precious blood.", you become the child of almighty God, you know God as your father. And the moment you accept Him, He gives you eternal life. As the Bible says in John 5:24, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. Yes, Jesus took all the bitterness of death on the cruel cross. If you are going through hard time because of death of a dear one, look to Jesus, He will comfort you, He understands you because He went through death and came out victoriously. Will I die?I (Jesus)have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.(John 10:10)Is there any forgiveness for my sins?"Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD, "Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool. (Isaiah 1:18)Will I be able to come out of my burdens?"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)Will I be able to be free from debt ever?Jesus has paid the price on the cruel Calvary.Does anyone care about me?"Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you."( 1 Peter 5:7)Does anyone loves me?"The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: 'Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love'." (Jeremiah 31:3)Is there any hope for me?"There is hope in your future, says the LORD." (Jeremiah 31:17)I am at the dead end, Is there any way out?"In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths."(Proverbs 3:6)Is there any answer to my question?"'Call to Me, and I will answer you" (Jeremiah 33:3)Oh, Can I ever get healed from this sickness?"I am the LORD who heals you."(Exodus 15:26)
If we go to Isaiah 45:1 we find that this promise is being given to Cyrus. Cyrus is not an Israelite but he is being given the same promise given in Isaiah 43:1 to the Israelites. The first thing He does is removing sins from our life. And making us Holy. Yes he is very much concerned about our sins and shameful living. He wants us to enjoy a Holy life. Isaiah 43:25, "I (God), even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins." Are you being burdened by sins? Are you being troubled by your unholy lifestyle? Come to Jesus and He will give you rest, He will wash you by His own blood and make you clean. The Second thing He does is, He says that He will go before us (Isaiah 45:2). What does that mean? That means that if we hand over our controls in His hands, He is going to lead us, guide us and make our paths straight. Is it not wonderful that the God of Universe, the God almighty is going to walk before us making our paths straight? And He says, "I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:" That means that He is going to remove the obstacles from your ways that you can walk in His ways smoothly. Are you having trouble thinking how to walk in the ways of the Lord? Are you worried about your future? Are you worried about things surrounding you? Leave it in the hands of Jesus, ask Him to make your paths straight, He will gladly do it for you. The Third thing Isaiah 45:3, "And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel." That means He is going to richly bless us with abundance of blessings in our materiel world and physical world. Are you being burdened with a physical problem? Are you being burdened with material problems? He is ready to bless you and take you out of those problems. Look to the Lord Jesus for help and He will help you out. In all these things do not forget to be grateful to the Lord, because He does it all, that you may know, that the Lord who calls you by your name is the God of Israel. If you have not responded to His call till this time in your life, If you are still living in sin, If you are still living a peace less life, ask the Lord to come in to your heart. Tell Him to forgive you of your sins and wash you with His precious blood that He shed on the Cross and to make you holy.May God Bless you. Amen
Psalms 25:12, "Who is the man that fears the LORD? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses." Psalms 25:14, "The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant. These verses say clearly that the Lord shows His ways to only His people. The person who has fear of God, who wants to walk in the ways of the Lord, can know the secrets of God. As I wrote in my previous issue a stranger can not hear the voice of God. If you are a stranger in the sight of God, if you are not born again in God's family, you will never hear the voice of God. Bible says about king saul, how once he was chosen by God, was anointed by God, but when he disobeyed God & sinned against God ,God rejected him. 1 Sam 15:23, "For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He also has rejected you from being king." 1 Sam 15:24 Then Saul said to Samuel, "I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice." Here we see that because of his sins, God hid His face from Saul. And Saul realized that God did not speak to him any more. 1 Sam 28:6 And when Saul inquired of the LORD, the LORD did not answer him, either by dreams or by Urim or by the prophets. Yes my friends, God does not speak to a sinner, God does not delight in sin. God speaks to His own people, His own children, only to those who receive Him as Lord & Savior. Now let us see How God speaks to a person: Several times I heard people saying, all these things happened in the old testament days, or in the time of Jesus. It does not happen now a days. Why? because when a person does not experience these things, they end up in saying that it does not happen. Is God's hand too short that He can not do the things which He did 2000 years ago. Has God no ability to do the things which is written in the Bible ? Let us see what the Bible says about it. God is capable: He is the same yesterday, today & forever,(Hebrew 13:8), but it is we who limit God, & say God does not speak, miracles cannot happen, healing does not take place now a days. If somebody does healing crusades, people say look he/she is a false prophet. If a person say God speaks, then suddenly people say, "Oh, are you the person to whom God will speak, I can not believe it. If a big preacher called so and so says these things it makes some sense. But to you God speaks" ? That is our attitude today. God speaks to a person in various ways. Let us see what the Bible says about this.1. God speaks through His word: When we read Bible, God speaks. It is the inspired word from God, God spoke to His prophets on various occasions. By the inspiration of the Holy spirit it is written. When we diligently seek God & read His word, He speaks through His word. Some times in times of trouble God's word brings comfort & consolation. Some times when we do some things wrong, God speaks & corrects us. Psalms 119:9, "How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. Psalms 119:11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You!" King David says " your(God) word helps me to walk in holiness." Psalms 119:1-6, "Blessed are the undefiled in the way, Who walk in the law of the LORD! Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart! They also do no iniquity; They walk in His ways. You have commanded us To keep Your precepts diligently. Oh, that my ways were directed To keep Your statutes! Then I would not be ashamed, When I look into all Your commandments." And what else. Psalmist says in- Psalms 119:105, "Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path." Yes, read the word of God daily. As we need food for our body, we need food for our soul. 2. God speaks at the time of prayer: It is not an option that, one should pray when he/she is in mood, but it is a command from God. Prayerlessness is sin in the sight of God. What the prophet Samuel says in 1 Samuel 12:23 "Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you; but I will teach you the good and the right way." Prayer destroys the yoke. It shatters the bondage. That's why Lord Jesus said to His disciples Math 26:41 "Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." When we spend time in prayer we can hear God's voice. God tells the things which is going to come, or the things which the enemy has planned for us. Elisha was a prophet of God. He could know the plans of the enemy. why? because God used to tell him what the enemy has planned to do in the near future. Is it not marvelous? 2 King 6:12, "And one of his servants said, 'None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.' When I was in India a few years back, one day we got a letter saying, "our department need this information within 15 days, if you fail to reply we will send people to search your house to get this information." We were surprised to see that letter because only my dad could reply that letter & he was in USA. We knew that some body falsely complained against us. Now the only option left was prayer, I knew that only God can solve this problem. I prayed "Lord what to do, what is it.? And during prayer time Lord said "do this & you will get rid of this problem." God's reply looked very funny & strange.," I thought Is this so simple? Any way we did what the Lord said that day. That night I saw a dream, in the dream I saw a lady who was in our colony. And I knew that she was the person who did all these things. She looked outwardly very friendly, I never thought that she will do such things. Next day I and mom were talking with that lady as usual. After some time she discussed the same matter, which was in the letter, and told, that department sends inquiry letters to people. And I knew that the dream was from God. Lord not only gave the solution of the problem, but showed who is behind it, so that in the future we can be careful. we indeed came out of that problem, after that we did not receive any letter and nobody came to do any inquiry. What a great God we have, God knows every thing. Do you spend time in prayer? Does God speak to you, if not get this great experience. 3. God speaks through dreams: Bible says that God speaks through dreams. If we read about Joseph. He was a man of God. Once he saw a dream Gen 37:5-10, "Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more. So he said to them, 'Please hear this dream which I have dreamed: "There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf." And his brothers said to him, "Shall you indeed reign over us? Or shall you indeed have dominion over us?" So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words. Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, "Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me." So he told it to his father and his brothers; and his father rebuked him and said to him, "What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall your mother and I and your brothers indeed come to bow down to the earth before you?" God showed the dream to Joseph about what is going to happen in the future. And we read that after many years the dream came to pass, when his brothers came to buy food during the seven years famine. Gen 42:6, "Now Joseph was governor over the land; and it was he who sold to all the people of the land. And Joseph's brothers came and bowed down before him with their faces to the earth." God speaks through dream. I want to share one more experience with you. I was in India. I was looking for job. One day a person told about a job, the job seemed to be good & salary also looked very good. I made up my mind for that job, but as usual I wanted to know the will of God. So I prayed that night, "Lord what is your will in this matter. What to do with this job, whether I join this job or not? I prayed & went to bed. That night I saw a horrible dream. In the dream I saw that I am in some office or in grocery store, and some body is chasing me, and I was running here & there to hide myself. While I was running in dream, I woke up. I found myself trembling due to fear, and my whole body was sweating. After that I could not sleep for a long time. And I knew that, the job was not for me. In the morning again I prayed & decided not to join the job. After a month or so I got another job and I joined though the salary was very much less (less than 1/3) than the previous one. Months passed & I forgot all about that dream. One day as I was reading news paper, to my surprise there was a main heading in the front page. It said that "police sealed the institution because of lot of fraud work & mishandling of money." And they published the names of the employees who were working with that institution, & some of the girls were known to me. Then only I knew that why God showed that dream & why God said no, for that job. We see only the things which are in front of us, but God looks beyond that, God knows every thing, He knows what is going to happen in the future. And God protects His children from all danger. What a great God we have. Do you spend time with God? Does God speaks to you. Do you hear the blessed voice of the Lord? If not ask God & get this great experience. May God bless you.
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
