Phil 4:6-7 "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." When I was in the 5th class, one student came one day with his forehead wounded and everybody asked, what happened to him? He said, "I wanted to meet God and somebody said, "If you rub an iron piece on your forehead 71 times you can meet God." So he did that and nothing happened except the wound…. Our soul is longing to meet God because God made us for fellowship with Him. If we read in the book of Genesis we can see that every day God used to come and meet Adam and Eve, but one day something happened. Genesis 3:1-24, The fruit of the tree which God has forbidden to eat, they ate and they lost everything whatever God has given them, they were separated from God, their soul became dead, they felt guilty and ashamed, they were broken, afraid and were hiding themselves from God. They lost the presence of God, they lost their peace and joy, and curse came upon them. God said to Eve, "I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you." And to Adam He said, "Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life. In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return." And then God sent them away from the Garden of Eden. But God never wanted us to be in such pitiable situation for ever. God made a perfect way for restoring our lives to the previous situation. He sent His only begotten son to die for us. Jesus came into this world and gave His precious body and blood to wipe away all the shame, guilt, fear, curse, sorrow, tears, brokeness, death and more than that to restore our relationship with God. When a person receives Jesus as his/her Lord and Savior, He restores his/her life and gives back whatever Adam lost in the Garden of Eden. My dear Brothers and Sisters, you may be going through very difficult situation and may not be knowing how you can be all right, may be you have lost all your hope, but God wants to restore your life and wants to give back perfect peace, joy and happiness in your life. Malachi 3:6, "For I am the LORD, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob." This verse says that the Lord is the same forever, He never changed. He was the same at the time of Old Testament. Prophets experienced the same thing, which we see today about God. He was the same at the time of New Testament. Lord Jesus' disciples knew that He is a loving and compassionate God. And He is the same now and forever. Hebrew 13:8, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."1. Unchanging Love: First thing we see is that His love is the same. He is the same God who still loves us. Think about it, how much He loved you and me that He sent His only and only begotten son (Jesus) to die on your behalf and on my behalf. Adam did sin in the Garden of Eden, when he failed to obey God and His simple command, "you shall not eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil." Genesis 2:16-17, "And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat;" "but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." When Adam sinned, God did grieve in His heart, and later we see in Genesis that the Lord felt sorry that He made human beings. Genesis 6:3, "And the LORD said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh.…" Genesis 6:6, "And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. Verse 7, "for I am sorry that I have made them." But still, think about it, how loving and compassionate He is that He made a perfect plan to save the perishing and dying mankind. He did not destroy us. But He decided to save His own creation. To do this His only alternative was to send His only son (Jesus) to die on the cruel cross. How painful it might have painful for God to see His own son dying on the Cross. This is the greatest love of God. Have you ever thought of it? Have you accepted Him as your lord and Savior? Or, have you been rejecting His great sacrifice all these years. He is ready to accept you as you are. Whatever may be your condition today. You may be thinking that you are too bad to come to the presence of God saying I am too unworthy to pray to the Lord, but He loves you. His love never changed. What He did to save the whole mankind is applicable for you also. 2. Unchanging Promises: Second thing we see is that God's promises never change. Whatever God said through His prophets and disciples will be fulfilled in due time. God said to Abraham that He will make him a great nation, though it looked impossible because at that time he was 99 years old and he did not have a child. Genesis 12:2, "I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing." God promised it and God did it. Genesis 21:5 Now Abraham was one hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him. Again God said I will send my son to save sinners. Isaiah 7:14 "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel." Isaiah the prophet prophesied it 700 years before the birth of Christ. And God fulfilled that prophecy in His time. He sent His son Jesus Christ to save sinners. Again Lord Jesus said "I will come again" Acts 1:10, "And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel." Acts 1:11, "who also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven." It is His promise and it looks that things are moving very rapidly. Bible prophecies of end time are being fulfilled rapidly. Jesus could return any time. Let us prepare ourselves for that great day. Are you ready for that? Has your sins been forgiven? Are you sure that you will reach heaven? If not pray to the Lord, Lord save me I am a sinner, I want a place in heaven, wash me with your precious blood and make me whiter than snow."3. Unchanging Mercy: 1 Chronicle 16:34, "Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever." (2Chronicle 5:13,7:3,6, 20:21psalms 100:5) All these verses says the same thing. His mercy is forever and ever Exodus 20:6, "but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments." Deuteronomy 7:9, "Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;" To those who love God, and walk in His ways, Lord shows His mercy upon them. Do you love God? Do you walk in His ways? If so He will bless you abundantly. He is an unchanging God. He never changes. If you do not know Him personally, come to Him and see how good He is. Come to His Calvary's Cross and say Lord I need you. I want to live for you. Make me a new person. Make me your child. Shower your love and mercy over me."May God bless you!
"And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, "The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight." (Numbers 13:32-33) Hear we see that the people who went as spies to Cannon said, "all the people of that land are men of great stature and they are giants, we were like grasshoppers in our own sight and so we were in their sight." Many times problems come and it comes from all sides so tremendously that we start thinking that it is not possible for us to come out of these situations. It is impossible…. And the problems look like giants and we feel ourselves like grasshoppers. We find ourselves in a very helpless and hopeless situation. But with God all things are possible. If we trust in God and look to Him, He will do mighty things as He did when Israelites came out from Egypt. Egyptians pursuded them and Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever." (Exodus 14:13) And if we read further we can see how the Egyptians were destroyed and how God saved the Israelites, And they never saw the Egyptian army again. May be you are going through problems or being affected through habits or addictions, which look like giants and may be you are thinking that you may not be able to come out from this situation, but look to God. The same God who delivered the Israelites can deliver you also. The same God who gave victory after victory to Israelites can give you victory. Amen
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
