Many a time we go through such a situation that every thing seems very difficult and impossible. Many times we think there is no hope. Everything seems collapsing within us.

If we read about Ruth, we can see that, she lost her husband and it seems that she did not have any child. Her future was darkened. There was no hope for her and when her mother in-law wanted her to return to her place, Ruth did not leave, but Ruth 1:10-13, "And they said to her, "Surely we will return with you to your people." But Naomi said, "Turn back, my daughters; why will you go with me? Are there still sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands? "Turn back, my daughters, go; for I am too old to have a husband. If I should say I have hope, if I should have a husband tonight and should also bear sons, "would you wait for them till they were grown? Would you restrain yourselves from having husbands? No, my daughters; for it grieves me very much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD has gone out against me!"

According to the custom of levirate marriage (Deuteronomy. 25:5-9; Gen. 38:8; Matthew. 22:24-28), when a married brother died without leaving posterity, his brother should marry the widow (his sister-in-law) in order to raise up seed for the deceased brother. The purpose was to guarantee inheritance for the family and achieve security for the widow. Naomi was explaining that it would be absurd for the women to return with her. There was no chance of marriage because she had no other sons to be their husbands. To provide sons she would first have to marry a brother of her deceased husband. Thus, Naomi was alluding to a double levirate marriage.

But we can see that Ruth clung to her mother in-law (Naomi) and the God of Israel. Not only was Ruth drawn to Naomi by strong affection and attachment, but her heart was also leaning toward commitment to the God of Israel and toward obedience to His laws. And because she feared God, God blessed her with a husband and she and Boaz(her husband) became the ancestors of Christ. God restored her shattered future, God restored her life and blessed her.

God wants to do the same thing with you. May be your future is shattered and you may be at the dead end, you may be thinking there is no hope..... But look to God, He is able to restore your life and can give you a blessed future. Amen.

Jesus is given for us

Isaiah 55:3, "Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you; The sure mercies of David."

The reference to the "sure mercies of David" speaks of the Davidic covenant, which promises that a descendant of David will rule eternally over a kingdom that will bless all the nations Luke 1:32, 33; 2:30-32

Isaiah 55:4, "Indeed I have given him as a witness to the people, A leader and commander for the people."

It is talking about Jesus Christ that He is given as a witness to the people and a Leader and commander for the people. But the question is why?

Why should the Son of God be given to us?

1. He is given for our peace:

Isaiah 9:6, "For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
Isaiah 9:7, "Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this."

He was given so that He can bring peace with the increase of His government. Whenever the world have rejected the Prince of peace it has lost peace. Look at the school shootings in Colorado and today in Atlanta Georgia.

2. He is given for our Salvation:

Isaiah 52:10, "The LORD has made bare His holy arm In the eyes of all the nations; And all the ends of the earth shall see The salvation of our God."
Isaiah 52:13, "Behold, My Servant shall deal prudently; He shall be exalted and extolled and be very high."
Isaiah 52:14, "Just as many were astonished at you, So His visage was marred more than any man, And His form more than the sons of men;" Isa 52:15, "So shall He sprinkle many nations. Kings shall shut their mouths at Him; For what had not been told them they shall see, And what they had not heard they shall consider."

3. He is given because we are sinners:

Isaiah 53:4, "Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted." Isaiah 53:5, "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed."

He came into this world because he knew that we need restoration from our fallen condition. He could not just sit back and relax seeing our downtrodden condition. Instead He was moved with compassion and came into this world to give Himself on the Cross for us.

Every time when we say that we have no sin not only we lie to ourselves but try to make God a liar.

1 John 1:10, "If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us."

4. He came to give us Eternal life:

John 10:10, "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

He came into this world to Give us life in abundance, and a glorious life for eternity, for ever and ever. But it is available for us only if we believe, because those who do not believe are already condemned.

John 3:18 "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:19 "And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. John 3:20 "For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed." John 3:21 "But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God."

You need to decide which side you are? Do you really believe in Jesus? if yes, have you ever gone to Jesus that He may take away your sins. For Jesus came into this world to do the same.

John 1:29, "The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" Mathew 11:28 "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Jesus is given for you, have you given yourself to Him. Have you gone to Jesus that He may remove your burden of sin and set you free?

John 8:32 "And you shall know the truth (Jesus), and the truth shall make you free."

Are you still carrying the burden of sin? Look to Jesus and He will gladly set you free.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
