Psalms 23:6, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever." David said these above words. How could he say this? From the very young age, God anointed him to be a king. But even after many years he could not see any good thing in his life. Saul promised to give him his daughter in marriage but he gave her to another man. He was almost killed when Saul threw his spear aimed at David. He did face the anger and jealousy of Saul. He had to run for his life and became a wanderer in the wilderness as nobody. He might have thought, "will I ever be able to see any good things in my life?" He might have thought, "How long have I to run from my people and from my home..." Even he said in, 1 Sam 20:3, "But truly, as the LORD lives and as your soul lives, there is but a step between me and death." And also he says in,1 Sam 27:1, "And David said in his heart, "Now I shall perish someday by the hand of Saul..." Not only that, many times he encountered with death face to face when Saul came searching for him and sometimes when there was no other way of escape. But we see that every time, David was rescued by the mighty hand of God. That's why he says in Psalms 23:6, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life." Yes, my friend, you may be in this situation today. You may be thinking, "Will any good thing happen for me?" Will I be able to see any goodness or mercy in my life? The same God who did change the situation of David can change your situation also. He can fill your life with goodness and mercy all the days of your life. As we entered in this new year and new Millennium let us forget the past failures and past problems but look to Jesus. The same God who did marvelous things in the life of David can do likewise in your life also. David who was a wanderer became King of Israel one day. God never forgot His promises but fulfilled them in His perfect time. No matter what the situation may be through which you are going through, Jesus can help you and solve all your problems. Genuine Love

Jermiah 31:3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee." 1. He is the fountain of Love: Yes, God has loved us with an everlasting love, with the love which is genuine and infinite. You will never find such love in this world, nobody can love you with real love. No human can understand your feelings, but God understands. He knows your emotions, cares, worries etc. He knows the situation through which you are walking. He knows everything, yes He knows everything. Many times we hear that man is unfaithful. We receive many letters saying "my boyfriend has cheated me, he has gone with another woman. My girlfriend left me for another man. My husband of 22 years left me and so on. This is the love of a human being. Man’s love will fail you, it will bring brokenness, heartbreaks, and pain. But think of the love of God who did not even spare His only son Jesus Christ and gave Him for us for our redemption. He is such a good God. He could not simply see His own creation dying in sin and perishing. That was the love of God, a genuine love. Because of that love He gave His only son to die on the cruel Cross to save you and me. Have you ever thought of it? If you sit down for a moment and think of this love, I am sure you will start crying. Think of that great love, and give your heart to Jesus and let me tell you, you will never be the same again. There is a beautiful song, it says: "The greatest thing in all my life is knowing you (2) I want to know you more, I want to know you more" Have you ever come to that experience? Do you know Him personally as a friend knows another friend? Can you say that He is everything to you? If not, know Him as your Lord and Savior at least in this new year. Come to Calvary’s Cross and say, "Lord I need you in this new year, in this new millenium. Come and live with me, I open my heart’s door which was closed for years. Come and be the master of my life, lead me wherever you want me to and I am ready to follow you." 2. He is the fountain of Joy: Yes my friends, Jesus is that fountain. In Him is overflowing joy. When Jesus comes into the sinful and broken soul, He becomes that fountain, which flows for eternity. I accepted Lord Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior when I was so young on the 3rd Nov. 1981. From that day on, I experienced this everlasting joy in my life. Since then, 19 long years have passed, the joy which I received that day has never faded. The joy which this world gives fades away soon, it does not stay for a long time. When you get good marks in exam it gives some excitement but it fades away soon. When you get good job it gives some excitement but soon it fades away. Few days back when my recruiter telephoned me and said "I have a great news for you, you have passed the test and you are going for job". It thrilled me I laughed with joy and later cried. That is worldly joy which gave me excitement for a while, but later faded away. Now I think and rejoice but do not feel that excitement which I felt before. I saw many girls getting married. When they come and say "My marriage is settled, I am going to marry soon". I saw their faces beaming with joy. Many times I thought, "They are so happy as if they have won the whole heaven. But after the marriage, 2 months, 6 months, or a year later, when I look at them I wonder and think, "what happened to that joy. Where has this joy gone?" I interviewed many out of curiosity, "how things are going, how is your married life"? Reply came "Oh!! It is going on, or, I should have got a better husband than this, or, my husband is good, but in-laws are not, I should have got a smart husband than this or a husband with better job than this etc." This is the type of worldly joy which comes and fades away. But the joy which comes from God, the joy which comes by receiving Christ as savior stays forever and ever. What may come it stays there. You may go through storms, you may walk through financial crisis, you may go through sickness still the joy of the Lord stays there. It never fades away. This is my personal experience. We as a family walk through many problems, many times we shed tears with pain, but one thing we noticed was that the joy and comfort of the Lord stayed for ever. Every time Lord comforted us and said, "I will never leave you not forsake you". What else we need in this world? Can you find such a Savior in anybody? Can you find such a love in anybody? Can you find such a joy in the times of trouble in any body else than Christ? No Never. Will you accept Him today as your savior? Will you? Look to Him and say, "Lord I love you for dying for me, you became a ransom for me. I love you because you died for me to save me from miry clay. Wash me with your precious blood and forgive and forget my sins. Today I accept you as my Savior, as my Redeemer, as my Lord, as my every thing. Thank you for accepting me as your child, thank you for giving me eternal life. In Jesus name I pray Amen."
Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 10th Aug. 2010
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 10th Aug. 2010
