Ezekiel 36:26-27, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them." God says, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you…" But the question is, when will He give a new heart? When we repent and turn to God as the Bible says in Ezekiel 18:31-32, "Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies, "says the Lord GOD. "Therefore turn and live!" Yes, God does not want to see us die and He could not see us die and go to hell fire. That was the reason why He came down to this world and gave His life for us. He took all our sins on the cruel cross and shed His precious blood for the remission of our sins. Many times people think, "wow, God took all our sins on the cross so that no one would go to hell. So now we can live in sin, we can enjoy life… No, it is a grave mistake that people do. God has done whatever He had to do for the salvation of mankind. He made a way to rescue us from our sins by shedding His precious blood on the cross. Now it is our turn to receive His free gift of salvation. If you say yes to His gift, He will wash away all your sins but if you say no to His gift, there is no remission of sin for you. There is no heaven for you because you have not only rejected the gift of God but have rejected God Himself. That’s why Moses said to his people in Deuteronomy 30:19, "I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live." Exodus 29:43 "And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by My glory. Exodus 29:44 "So I will consecrate the tabernacle of meeting and the altar. I will also consecrate both Aaron and his sons to minister to Me as priests. Exodus 29:45 "I will dwell among the children of Israel and will be their God. Exodus 29:46 "And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them up out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them. I am the LORD their God. Perhaps the word God may have been bringing a picture in your mind about a personality that is far away, mighty, cruel and unreachable. But here God of the Bible says, "I will meet, I will dwell among you, I will consecrate you." Oh what a great God we serve. Now we are going to quickly see how this Almighty God who is unlimited in his Power can dwell in my and your house. If we read a few verses back i.e. in Exodus 29:38-41 God directs to offer sacrifices of two lambs daily one in the morning one in the evening and also grain offering and burnt offering. These offerings were for the cleansing from sins and to have a clean life. Man was not able to get strength to walk away from sin. With all his/her good works he/she was still a sinner in the sight of God. So God gave them the sacrifices for the redemption of their sins. And whenever the sweet aroma of the sacrifices lifts to God He is very much pleased and He comes and blesses us. We can find it in Genesis 8:20, "Then Noah built an altar to the LORD, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar." Genesis 8:21, "And the LORD smelled a soothing aroma. Then the LORD said in His heart, "I will never again curse the ground for man's sake, although the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done." But the sacrifice of lamb every day was not enough. So God sent His only Son Lord Jesus Christ to become Lamb of God for you and me. John the baptist proclaimed about Jesus in John 1:29 "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!". Yes Jesus became sacrifice for you and me, He became the Lamb for you and me. Eph 5:2, "And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma." When ever we accept the sacrifice done by our Lord Jesus Christ and accept Jesus as our redeemer we release that aroma of Sacrifice and God sees from heaven and is very much pleased. Soon He comes down to the tabernacle (our body and life) and His glory sanctifies the tabernacle(our body and life) And he consecrates us as Priests. Then He wants us to get filled with His Spirit so that we can enjoy fullness of Him who has Sanctified us through His Son Jesus Christ. John 14:16, "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever;" John 14:17 "the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you." Yes Holy Spirit comes and dwells with us, talks to us, comforts us and leads us in the way we should go. Do you want this wonderful and mighty God to come and dwell in your heart? Do you want Him to come and dwell in your family? Invite Him in your heart and in your family and He will gladly come and stay with you. He will talk to you, guide you and protect you. Isaiah 48:18, "Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, And your righteousness like the waves of the sea." God promises peace like a river for those who heed His commandments and walk in His holy ways. What type of peace did He promise for this type of people?1. The Peace that surpasses all understanding: We read in Philippians 4:7, "and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." The peace that passes all understanding – yes, it is God’s peace which comes in the life of a believer. No matter what your situation could be, you can enjoy in the midst of the worst storm of your life. You can smile in the midst of sorrow and pain. Once I read a true story. In a village there was a particular couple. They accepted Jesus as their personal Lord and savior. Many years later people were vacated from that village for a dam to be built in that area. They lost their little hut and had no idea what to eat, where to go and live? They traveled miles to reach a coal factory to work there. After a whole days work, tired and desperate they were returning from the cave. They were stunned to see a writing on the walls of the cave. It was a Bible verse: - "I will never leave you nor forsake you." When they saw this verse a great peace came into their hearts and they went rejoicing that God was with them and He will take care of them. Yes, it happens when God is with you. You may be going through a situation where you might have lost every thing and you may have lost all your hope. You may be at the end of your rope. But Jesus who is the Prince of peace can give you the peace that passes all understanding. There is nothing too hard for the Lord. He can change your situation upside down.2. Peace that this world can not give: John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." Jesus said to His disciple, "let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid because I give to you, My peace that world can not give." Worldly peace and joy is only for a while. It comes and goes, but the peace which Jesus gives it lasts forever and forever. Few weeks back in a church a young man gave his testimony. He lost one of his legs in an accident but his face was filled with joy and marvelous peace. Yes, no one can rejoice and be peaceful in this situation and when his whole life is ruined. But only God can give this type of peace and joy. Yes, He is the source of peace. Yes, my friend if you have not yet got this peace in your life, it is time to invite Jesus in your life and get that divine peace in your life.
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
