Judg 13:2 Now there was a certain man from Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren and had no children.
Judg 13:3 And the Angel of the LORD appeared to the woman and said to her, "Indeed now, you are barren and have borne no children, but you shall conceive and bear a son.
Judg 13:4 "Now therefore, please be careful not to drink wine or similar drink, and not to eat anything unclean.
Judg 13:5 "For behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. And no razor shall come upon his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb; and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines."

The Angel of the Lord emphatically asserted that the child was to be a Nazirite from his birth. This meant that his entire life was to be lived in service to the Lord. The term "Nazirite" is from the verb nazar (Heb.), which means to "dedicate" or "separate." It involved the voluntary adoption for a specific time of a way of life similar to that required of priests. It signified one's dedication to God. The Nazirite represented the people of God who were to be separated from the world. The outward signs consisted of abstaining from (1) the fruit of the vine in any form, (2) cutting the hair, (3) touching a corpse(avoiding defilement). If any of these were violated, the vow was nullified, but it could be reinstated after purification and sacrifice.

Samson was set aside as a Nazirite before his birth as the Angel of the Lord said to his parents. But they failed to teach him the God’s way and they did not make him to walk in the perfect will of God. Writer of proverbs says in Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it." But we see in the life of Samson that he totally forgot why he was in this world and what the purpose of his life was. He totally forgot that he is a Nazirite and he defiled himself.

Yes, my dear parents, if your child goes astray then it is your responsibility. There is a phrase, "a child’s first school is his/her home." Whatever parents teach them it stays in their mind life long. Parents are responsible for shaping a child’s life. If you are drinking or smoking and doing bad things you can not say to your child, "do not do this." They will copy you as you are. Today we see broken families (single mother and single father families) and families are breaking apart. Why? Because we never knew the ways of God. We are living as we wanted, we have even removed God from our lives, our homes, and our schools and from our society. We are thinking that we will be successful even if we remove God. No my friend, without God we will see misery and pain that’s all.

Samson saw a woman and fell in love with her. His eyes were so blind that he could not even see what the will of God for his life was. He even did not ask God whether it was His will or not. How many times we fail to ask God what His will is? How many times we want things our own way and fail miserably. Many decide in advance about their future partner and start praying to God, "O, Lord please help me to marry him/her." How foolishly we ask God? Samson was appointed to be enemy to those people but he loved the daughter of a Philistine and considered taking her as his wife. It was the starting of failure in his life. Yes, sin is sin, you must learn to hate sin and love the ways of God. You can not love sin and God at the same time. Why to go in the way which is not from God? Why destroy yourselves? Yes, Samson failed to ask God for His counsel and destroyed his life, his future and everything… But look at the life of Samuel. The Bible says in 1 Samuel 2:26, "And the child Samuel grew in stature, and in favor both with the LORD and men."

Today you may be like Samson. You might have destroyed your future and your life in the hands of the enemy. But I want to tell you that there is hope. Yes, you can begin again, no matter how much your life may be messed up. No matter how far away you went in sin, no matter how much you have rejected God, if you look to Him and invite Jesus in your life, God will come in and make everything right. No matter how broken your home may be, God will restore your family. Yes, God wants to give you a bright future and happy life, just look to Him. He will wipe away all your tears.

Abide in Me

By Sheela Isaac

John 15:4 "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
John 15:5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
John 15:6 "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.

These above verses clearly says that without Jesus you can do nothing. Lord said "abide in Me". Even if you are a saved person and even if you think that you have eternal life and have a place in heaven, but still you need to abide in Him till the end. If you will not abide in Him till the end you can lose your crown and salvation.

Many times we hear some strange things even from preachers. Many are teaching false things which is not based on Bible. Many times I heard people saying, "Once you are saved you will reach heaven what ever you may do and however you may live" That's not true. That is a deception, a lie from the devil. Once you are saved it does not mean that you can do whatever you want to, or live as you like. No sir, Bible says that without holiness no one can see God. You are saved by grace, but now you need to live a holy life, a blameless and sinless life to please God.

James 1:12, "Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been proved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him."

What does this verse say? Blessed is the man who endures temptation. A person who stands firm in temptation means that he lives a holy life. To such a person who endures till the end and pass the test the Lord will give the crown of life. Rev 2:10, "....... Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life."

Once a person was talking to me and said "even if you commit suicide you will reach heaven" I asked him, "who told you this wrong thing." He said, "my church pastor told it." How strange it is? Isn't it?

Bible does not support this theory. Bible says "you shall not kill" killer will not inherit the kingdom of God. If you kill somebody, you will break one of the ten laws of God. The same is the case, if you kill yourself. You are breaking the law and Bible clearly says that law breakers will not inherit the kingdom of God, means heaven.

Read these verses: Mat 5:21-22, "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.' "But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, 'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of hell fire.

So be careful from false teachings, which may destroy your spiritual life. In the Bible we find many examples of these who have started their spiritual jouney very well, even heard God's voice, but could not finish their race well. They fell from grace, lost their crown and eternal life.

King Saul is the greatest example. He was chosen by God, but he could not walk faithfully till the end. He committed suicide and lost his place in heaven and lost his crown.

Soloman the great king, the man of great wisdom who wrote many books full of wisdom. But what happend to him?

Eccl 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man's all. Eccl 12:14 For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil.

He started his journey well. He said, "Fear God and keep His commandments", but in his last days he could not follow that. He failed to walk in God's ways. Read these verses.

1 King 11:4, "For it was so, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned his heart after other gods; and his heart was not loyal to the LORD his God, as was the heart of his father David."
1 King 11:9, "So the LORD became angry with Solomon, because his heart had turned from the LORD God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice,…"

Saul and Solomon were chosen by God but they could not finish their jouney well. It should be a warning for us. Let us keep walking in God's ways till life ends. Let us protect our salvation and the crown which God has given. Let us abide in Him. May the Lord help us to do that.

God bless you.

Jabez - whose prayers where answered

By Sherly Isaac

1 Chronicles 4:9, Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, "Because I bore him in pain."
1 Chronicles 4:10, And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, "Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!"
So God granted him what he requested.

Jabez was a man who was born in pain - meaning of his name is pain - and his life was also painful. In this painful situation he cried out to God, "Oh, that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that your hand would be with me, and that you would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain."

In the whole Bible these two verses describe about Jabez, his painful situation and his deliverance from his pain. Yes, we have a God who listens to our cry and can not see us in pain as the Bible says in Ezekiel 18:23, "Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?" says the Lord GOD, "and not that he should turn from his ways and live? And also in Ezekiel 18:32, "For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies," says the Lord GOD. "Therefore turn and live!" He wants to give us a life full of peace, joy and happiness. He wants to wipe away all our tears. Jesus said in John 10:10, "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."

Are you in pain and in tears today? Are you going through bitter experiences? Look to Jesus as Jabez did. He cried out in pain and God heard his cry and the Bible says that, He wiped away all his tears, He heard all his prayers and granted his request to him. Yes, no matter what your problem is, no matter what painful situation you are facing today, Jesus can help you. He can change your situations.

God not only changed the painful situation of Jabez but He changed his status and made him more honorable than his brothers as the Bible says in 1 Chronicles 4:9, "Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers." You may be least in your family, you may be thinking you are a useless fellow but God can turn your situation around.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
