Isaiah 59:1-3, "Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, And your fingers with iniquity; Your lips have spoken lies, Your tongue has muttered perversity."God wants to hear our cry and wants to help us in whatever situations we may be in. But, why our cries are not reaching Him? Bible says, - because of our sins and iniquities. Yes, sin separates us from God. In Genesis 3rd chapter we read about the sin of Adam and Eve. When Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying God, God sent them away from His sight. They were separated from almighty God, their creator. It was a very silly mistake. God forbid them to eat the fruit of the tree, but they could not resist the temptation and they ate the fruit. One silly mistake made them and their lives miserable. They lost fellowship with God. Why? Because God is holy and He can not tolerate any kind of sin no matter how small the sin may be. Not only does our sins separate us from God but sin also hinders our prayers from reaching God. If sin is in our lives. We can not reach God with our sins and iniquities. But God loved us so much that He gave His only son for us as we read in John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.Jesus came down to this world to establish a bridge between us and God. He came down to reconcile us with God. He came down to give us our old status which we lost at the garden of Eden and to restore our relationship with God. He shed His precious blood on the cruel cross to save you and me from sin and sinful nature. You may be praying but find that nothing is happening – a feeling as if your prayers are not reaching anywhere, then you might have the thinking, "has God left me?". Check up your lives today. If you have not yet accepted Jesus in your life then first reconcile with God. Ask Him to forgive and forget all your sins which you ever could have committed in your life. Invite Jesus in your life. He will come and change everything. If you have already accepted Him in your life but still feel that your prayers are not being heard, check your life whether you are right with God or not. If not, repent from your sins and turn to God and He will forgive your sins. The most frequently asked question by saved people are: How to live a holy life? What to do to please God? Many send letters to us saying "I am not able to live a holy life."Here are some of them:I am trying my best to abstain from sinful thoughts & activities. Each time I fall I make up my mind, I will never commit it again, but after that I forget about it, and when I am tempted, I easily fall a prey to Satan's temptation. I feel bad , making promises and breaking it. Can you please pray that God gives me the strength, to say "No" to the sinful & lustful thoughts, and also to help me control my character to the glory of God.The Lord - blessed and good - has provided me with all that I need in this life. Truly, truly, His promises are real. Without Him, I am nothing. With all this, I must confess, I have sinned. And sinned repeatedly. My relationship with Him has become skewed, distorted. God has remained good and merciful (what mercy!!!) to me; for He loves us all, even stupid selfish sinners such as myself. Please help me to obtain His forgiveness, let me not hurt Jesus Christ with my sin. I am sorry, Lord, please help me get right with You. Yes, these are the cry of saved persons who want to live a holy life. After I accepted Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior and got saved in the year 1981, I too was praying the same way. Almost every day I prayed "Lord make me holy, make me a person of integrity, why I am not able to live a holy life? why I am not able to walk in your ways fully......? and so on." I found that whenever I took one step ahead toward holiness, sooner the enemy (devil) will come and push me two steps back. And it was very frustrating. But you know God hears every cry, every prayer we offer at His alter and He answers those prayers. Once, Lord spoke to me, "you have prayed frequently for holiness, I will make you a person of integrity." And He did that and now I can say with confidence that anybody can live a holy life. It is indeed hard but not impossible. How the devil attacks one:1. Through thought life2. Though area of weakness3. Through filthy movies and magazines4. By backslidingThrough thought life: There is a phrase "empty mind is devil's workshop." When a person sits idly and thinks about all kinds of filthy things the devil enters the mind thru those thoughts. If you sit and think of a person, "he/she is doing this to me, he/she is so bad to me, he/she is like this and that, he/she is working against me." I am sure that after some time you will feel hatred toward that person. That's how bitterness enters the heart thru thought life. Through area of weakness:Secondly even in saved people it is seen that there may be certain areas which are not fully dedicated to God. This is the area thru which the devil attacks over and over again. Long back I read a prayer of a servant of God. He prayed like this, "Lord I am walking fine, but only this sin is pulling me down over and over again. How much I try I am not able to overcome this problem, I've sinned and it is the 100th time that I am coming in front of you to ask for forgiveness." Enemy is too smart and he knows what your weaknesses are, where you can fall easily-the same place where the devil attacks over and over again. If you are not praying and cautious about it, you will fall every time. Through filthy movies and magazines:Many times when you speak to a person saying "watching movies are not good." They will reply "what is wrong in it? It is just an entertainment" or "I watch only good movies which does not defile my mind," or "I do not take those dirty things but only accept those things which are good from movie." Well it is not possible that you get into mud hole and come out clean. It is just an excuse but it never works. Before I got saved I used to watch Hindi movies. I was very fond of movies. Around late 70's came one movie called "Bobby." I watched that movie and did not feel anything dirty in it at that time. But later read in newspapers that many young boys and girls ran away from their home. When police caught them and asked "why did you do that?" They said "we watched this movie and found that Hero running away with his girl friend, it was very fascinating to watch so we too did the same". Though it is totally against the culture of India, but still they did. Why? just because of watching a movie. See what a movie can do to a person. Though it does not look filthy or dirty but can still affect one's thought life.Once the police caught a 13 year old boy for murdering his adopted parent. When interviewed he admitted that he watched a movie that night on TV and just after that he committed this murder. What he did see in the movie he practically did it in his personal life.Yes my friend, movies, novels, magazines or bad sites of internet can do no good to you. It defiles the mind of a person and brings all kinds of dirty and lustful thoughts. When the same thoughts mature it brings forth disaster. It leads to sin whether small or grave. If you are a saved person you should not sit before TV and watch all kinds of rubbish thing. You are not to watch those things because your body is a temple of holy God. At the starting stage when a person gets saved, holy spirit keeps on warning, but when you fail to obey and insist on doing the things repeatedly against the will of God, you will come to a stage that holy spirit no longer talks to you. It does not mean that now what you do is acceptable to God. Certainly not. Instead, by doing this you are grieving God and Holy Spirit. Check up your life why you are not able to lead a holy life, if this is not the reason?By backsliding:In spiritual life whenever a person backslides his old sins starts coming back again. This is the one more reason that a person is not able to lead a holy life. Lack of interest in prayer and Bible reading, not praying regularly and reading Bible in a regular basis, failing or ignoring to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, deliberately continuing in the same wrong and sinful ways, fulfilling the desires of flesh rather than following God, are the main reasons for not being able to lead a holy life. How to overcome these attacks of the enemy:Now you may be considering what to do to overcome these attacks? Let us see quickly some major facts. First of all You can clean your thought life by reading and meditating on the word of God night and day.Psa 1:2, "But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night."Psa 119:9, "How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word."Psa 119:10, "With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!"Psa 119:11, "Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You!"Psa 119:15, "I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways."It appears that King David knew the key to live a holy life. He said, "I will meditate your words day and night." Start your day with the word of God and prayer. Take one verse about holiness and memorize it and keep on meditating the whole day and you will find that you are no longer falling in sin. It does not come by one day but by regular practice. Whenever dirty thought comes you can block it by the word of God. You might have noticed many a times that one line of some song comes to memory, and without your knowledge you keep singing the whole day the same lines. In the same way when you start your day with a verse or a thought for ex: Job 34:21, "For His eyes are on the ways of man, And He sees all his steps." or"God is holy He does not delight in sin." This thought will be ringing the whole day in your mind and it will keep you away from sin. It will remind you all the time that God is looking at all your actions. Second thing about weakness some area of your life. Only you know where your weaknesses are. Always be cautious about that particular sin and keep on praying. Pray hard for those areas so that God can deliver you. Some times it breaks thru much prayer, some times thru only fasting, some times only thru anointed messages or anointed preacher. So do that whatever helps. Keep praying and your help will come. Third thing, if you are watching movies, filthy things in TV, internet, reading explicit magazines or just stories about romance, murder, occult, witchcraft, etc. quit reading those stuff. It will never help you in your walk with Lord. It will never bring holiness in your life. Fourth thing, read the word of God daily, pray daily and claim those Bible verses for your victory.Fifth thing praise God all the time. Praise Him for His greatness, for His love and sacrifice on Calvary, praise Him for the great salvation which you got, praise Him for all the blessings which you have received and it will bring great joy into your soul and clean up your mind. It not only helps to remove depression, frustration but also brings the thought of Christ all the time and it will wipe away all your pain and tears. Praising is the key of joy and happiness.Try all these and I am sure you will be more than a conqueror. You can live a holy life for Christ.May God bless you.
Revelation 12:11, "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.Many a times young people ask, "How can we live a holy life? How can we come out from our sinful and lustful thoughts?" Some say, "I have tried my level best and promised myself to never go back to these sinful lusts but alas, I fall in that again. Can I ever come out from this or can I live a holy life ever?"These are a few of the questions of young people. But the Bible describes about many young people who lived clean lives and who they could overcome the world. But the question is how could we live a holy life? Blood of the Lamb has power to forgive sins:When we read Revelation 12:11 it says, "And they overcome him by the blood of the lamb." Yes, there is power in the blood of the lamb. The Bible says in Romans 5:6-7, "For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." When we were still sinners, Jesus died for our sins. He shed His precious blood so that we may live a holy life. And the Bible says in 1 John 1:7, "…and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." No matter how big your sins may be, Blood of Jesus can cleanse you from all your sins and make you whiter than snow. God challenges us in Isaiah 1:18, "Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD, "Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool."As your sins are like scarlet do you think that your sins can not be forgiven by any means? Do you think that as you have committed many sins there is no hope for the forgiveness of your sins? Look to Jesus, He can help you. His blood is available for you today. He will make you whiter than snow.Blood of the Lamb gives victory over sin and sinful nature:Revelation 12:11 says, "And they overcome him by the blood of the lamb." By the blood of Jesus we can live a holy life - a clean life. Blood of Jesus gives power to overcome from our sins. Once I read about a man of God. After a period of time since he got saved, he felt that his old sinful thoughts and sinful nature was coming back in his life. He felt very much disturbed, but as he was reading the Bible, Holy Spirit showed him how the blood of Jesus has power over sin. So every morning when he woke up the first thing he did was to apply the blood of Jesus on every organ of his body by faith before starting his routine work. Soon he saw the difference in his life. He saw the protection of God from all the evil forces. He started living a holy life by applying the blood of Jesus in his life. You might have tried your level best to come out from your sinful nature but might have failed miserably. Plead the blood of Jesus in your life and for your family. And Jesus will protect you, your soul, mind, body, your family your business, your job from all evil. The Bible says in John 1:12-13, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
