Isaiah 53:5, "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed."

Tomorrow we are going to observe Good Friday. Almost 2000 years back Jesus died on the cruel cross for me for you and for the whole world to save us from our sins and from hell fire. Prophet Isaiah prophesied about the sufferings of Messiah almost 700 years before the death of Jesus. Isaiah said, "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities." Yes, Jesus or Messiah did not come to pay the price of his own sins but He came to pay the price of our sins. He came to take away all our sins, transgressions and iniquities on the cruel cross and to die for us so that we may never be in bondage but live a sin free life, that we may enjoy freedom. He died on behalf of us. The place where we had to be, He took our place on the cross just because to save us from our sins. He took our punishment upon Himself and died for us.

Yes, He took all our sins on the cross but now it is our turn to accept His work on the cross. It is our turn to invite Jesus in our lives and experience His freedom in our lives. It is our turn to get the forgiveness of our sins through His precious blood that was shed for me for you and for the whole world.

Second thing we see in the above verse is that, "The chastisement for our peace was upon Him". Not only did Jesus suffer for our sins and transgressions but He was also chastised for our peace. To give us perfect peace He went through all these sufferings. Some people's peace rest on money that when money increases their peace increases and when money decreases their peace decreases.

But Jesus promised for the perfect peace that passes all understanding. This peace does not go up and down with your money or with your problems. But Jesus suffered for our peace no matter what your situation is, no matter whether you are in the midst of a worst storm of your life even then this peace will be always there. And you will be able to sleep like a little baby. Yes, Jesus wants to give this type of peace in your life. If you do not have this type of peace in your life, you must invite Jesus in your life. When the prince of peace will come in He will give you such a perfect peace.

Some people run after money and they worry always for money. From morning to night they count their money and they think how to earn more money. But the more you try to hold your money the more you will lose it. The more you will run after money the more it will go farther away from you. But if you pursue God, money will come running after you and God will prosper you in all your ways.

Third thing we see in the above verse is that by His stripes we are healed."

Jesus not only came to take away our sins and to give us perfect peace but also to give us healing in our body, in our emotions, in our broken homes and broken lives. His healing is available today also. No matter how big your sickness may be, no matter how much depressed or broken you may be, He can heal your sick body, broken heart and broken home. Stop looking to your money or to other people but start looking towards Jesus. Invite Him in your life and when He will come in He will change everything. He will wipe away all your sins and wash you with His precious blood. He will give you perfect peace and He will heal you.

Jesus the Savior

By Sheela Isaac

When we talk about Jesus, people have different views about Him. Some think that Jesus is only a good teacher. Some think Jesus is only a founder of a particular religion called Christianity. One group of people say that He is only a prophet. Another group of people say He is not the promised Messiah, but they are still waiting for the Messiah. Some think that He is a great person like any other great man. But let us see what the Bible says about Jesus. Who Jesus is?

In the Bible we find that many titles have been given to Him. Today we are going to see a few of them.

1. The Anointed one:
We find that Jesus was termed as the anointed one. The word Christ in Hebrew is rendered as Messiah. The meaning of Christ or Messiah is "Anointed one".

In the book of Isaiah we read the same thing. Lord Jesus Himself said that, "He is the anointed one, who is sent by God". Isa 61:1, "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;" Isa 61:2, "To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn," Isa 61:3, "To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified."

These verses say that God anointed Jesus for a special purpose. He came to fulfill the task of redemption of mankind. He left his heavenly glory and become man so that He can know the pain and suffering of human beings, so that He can reconcile the fallen mankind with God. He came to restore the lost glory of human beings the glory which was lost in the Garden of Eden due to sin. He came to restore the relationship which was broken in the Garden of Eden by the sin of Adam.

2. The Promised Messiah:
If we read in Old Testament we find that many times prophets spoke about the birth, life and death of Lord Jesus Christ.

Isaiah prophesied nearly 700 years prior to the birth of Jesus Christ saying- Isa 7:14 "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

This prophecy was fulfilled in the life of Jesus. Mat 1:23 "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us."

Prophet Micah prophesied about the birth of Jesus Christ that He will come from Bethlehem. Micah 5:2 "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting."

Again Prophet Isaiah prophesied about the death of Jesus Christ. And these prophesies have been fulfilled exactly in the life of Jesus Christ. If we read Isaiah 53:4-6 it is written here-Isa 53:4, "Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted." Isa 53:5, "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed." Isa 53:6, "All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all."

These prophesies were fulfilled in Jesus Christ, which proves beyond any doubt that Jesus is the promised Messiah. He came to fulfill the work of redemption on this earth.

3. God Himself:
Bible very clearly states that Jesus is the Son of God or He is God Himself. In Him we find all the qualities of God.

1. He is Holy:
Heb 7:26, "For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens;"
Heb 4:15, "For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin."

Judas the disciple of Lord Jesus who betrayed him brought back thirty pieces of silver to the high priest and said: He was without sin. Mat 27:4- saying, "I have sinned by betraying innocent blood."

Governor Pontius Pilot who began the trial of Jesus Christ declared that Jesus was a just person. Mat 27:24, "When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this just Person........"

2. He has all authority:
Lord Jesus has all the authority of heaven and earth. Mat 28:18, "And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

3. He is the creator:
When heaven and earth were created He (Jesus) was with God. Lord Jesus said "I am the beginning and the end. I am the Alfa and Omega." Rev 1:8, 1:11, 21:6, 22:13 "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,"

Jesus is God the creator of this universe. He was at the beginning, He is at present, and He will be till the end.

4. The Savior of the world:
Finally He is the savior of the world. He was seated at the right hand of God almighty, but came down to earth in the form of a man and become man for us. No one else has claimed it, no one ever came down from heaven like Lord Jesus. Lord Jesus lived a perfect life. His life was sinless. No other person on this planet has ever claimed that he/she is sinless. Jesus knew why He came and what the purpose was behind His coming. Several times He spoke to His disciples about His death and crucifixion. Finally He died on Calvary's Cross to save you and me. No one else ever did that.

Yes my friend, Lord Jesus died for you and me. He shed His precious blood for you and me. He took all of our sins upon Himself and on our behalf He died. The punishment, which we deserved, He took upon Himself. Remember, you can get rid of your sins because of the precious death of Lord Jesus Christ. You can have a place in heaven because Jesus took your sins upon Him. You can have eternal life because Lord Jesus has paid the price for your redemption.

You may be thinking, how? By accepting the great sacrifice of Lord Jesus. By repenting from your sins. It is that simple. But it is sad that many have missed this simple truth. Millions are slipping into hell fire every day just because of ignorance. Many are attending Church week after week but they are still away from this simple truth.

Yes my friend, what about you? Did you ever accept Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior? Did you ever ask Him to come into your heart? Have you ever prayed this prayer? If not today is the time. Do not miss this great experience. Do not let Him pass by one more Good Friday. Open your heart for Him and let the king come in.

Please pray this prayer from the bottom of your heart:

Lord Jesus I am a sinner. Today I come to Calvary's Cross and bow down before you. Please come into my heart. Wash away my sins with your precious blood. Cleanse me and make me whole. I accept you as my Lord, as my Savior, as my redeemer, as my master. Please give me a place in heaven. Make me your child. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

"Allah and Elohim - Are they same God?" Part 6

By Sherly Isaac

Whole Bible tells us that the God of the Bible is omniscient and He is all knowing. He knows the things which are going to come and the things which were in the past and nothing is hidden from Him. God of the Bible foretold the things of the future and recalled the past. But contrary to it Allah is not all-knowing. Let us look from the Quran what Allah says:

Al-Imran (The Family of Imran)

3:3. It is He Who sent down to thee (step by step), in truth, the Book, confirming what went before it; and He sent down the Law (of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus) before this, as a guide to mankind, and He sent down the criterion (of judgment between right and wrong).

Here in this Quranic verse it says that Quran is the confirmation of the Law of Moses and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Let us go back to the first five books of Moses which contains the Laws given to Moses and let us analyze it whether it is conforming to Quran or not. In the first five books of the Bible we read about the fall of human and their separation from God and also the punishment of God which came on them. Then again we read about the sacrifice and blood atonement through which a person can get the forgiveness of their sins. God gave the Law to Moses and showed how a person can get the forgiveness of their sins. Leviticus 5:5-6, "And it shall be, when he is guilty in any of these matters, that he shall confess that he has sinned in that thing; and he shall bring his trespass offering to the LORD for his sin which he has committed, a female from the flock, a lamb or a kid of the goats as a sin offering. So the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin."

And also the book of Leviticus says in Leviticus 17:11, "For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul."

So we can see that God gave the Law to Moses which told how to sanctify a person or how to get the forgiveness of their sins.

Now come with me to the Gospels where Jesus said in Matthew 26:28, "For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins." And also Jesus said in Matthew 5:17, "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill."

And the Gospels say that Jesus is the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world as we read in John 1:29, "The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!"

Yes, from Genesis to Revelation the Bible says about the salvation of God through blood atonement. But when we come to Quran we can see that Quran does not support the blood atonement but it says about good deeds and charity as we read in

Al-Baqara (The Cow)

2:277 Those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, and establish regular prayers and regular charity, will have their reward with their Lord: on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

So we can see in the Quran that a person is earning his/her salvation by their good works or by giving to charity or by doing religious rituals. If Quran was a confirmation of the previous scriptures then it should show similarity with Torah and Gospels and if Allah is the same God of the Bible then he should have given the same message of the Bible as the Bible says in Isaiah 64:6, "But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away." This verse makes it clear that our good works are nothing but filthy rags before God so we can not earn our salvation by our good works but if we want to be saved we need a Savior who is God Himself, who is Jesus Himself. Jesus gave Himself for our salvation on the cruel cross and shed His precious blood to save us. He paid the price for our salvation in full.

Son of God:

Again we read in Quran like this:

Isra', The Night Journey, Children Of Israel
17:111 Say: "Praise be to Allah, who begets no son, and has no partner in (His) dominion: Nor (needs) He any to protect Him from humiliation: yea, magnify Him for His greatness and glory!"

Mary
19:88 They say: "((Allah)) Most Gracious has begotten a son!"
19:91 That they should invoke a son for ((Allah)) Most Gracious.

19:92 For it is not consonant with the majesty of ((Allah)) Most Gracious that He should beget a son

Well, let us examine what the meaning of Begotten is? "The only begotten Son" (monogenes, Greek.) means "one of a kind," "unique," "without precedent." Some manuscripts read "the only begotten God" (NU God). The abrupt statement about a "begotten Son" or "God" is seen by some as an intimation of the virgin birth. The Logos, who is the Son, "has declared" God. He is indeed the interpreter, the exegete (exegesato, Gk.), leading out and explaining God to man.

The Bible tells us that God is Spirit. He is not a physical being and has no physical son. But it seems that Allah has taken it in the wrong way. While God showed Himself as father to Israelites as we read in Deu 32:18 Of the Rock who begot you, you are unmindful, And have forgotten the God who fathered you. David calls God his father. Isaiah said that God is Everlasting father in Isahiah 9:6

Psalms 2:7, "I will declare the decree: The LORD has said to Me, 'You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.
Psalms 2:12, "Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, And you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him."

These verses strongly say about the eternal Sonship of Messiah and His divinity. And it makes it clear that unless we kiss the son(Jesus Christ) we perish but those who put their trust in Him they are blessed.

Yes, God has given His only begotten son so that we may not perish but get eternal life through Him. And again it proves that God of the Bible and Allah is not same but they are totally different and their messages are totally different and contradictory to each other.
