Mark 12:27 "He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living. You are therefore greatly mistaken." Luke 20:38 "For He is not the God of the dead but of the living, for all live to Him." Bible very specifically says that the God of the Bible is a living God and He is not a God of the dead but of the living. That’s why Jesus said in John 10:10, "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." Yes, Jesus came to give us eternal life, the life that will never fade but everlasting life. He is the same God who made Adam a living being. Jesus is the same God who said to the Samaritan woman in John 4:14 "but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life." Yes, He is the God who lives forever and forever and wants to give us the same life which is in Him - everlasting life, so that we may never die but live with Him forever. We read in 1 Kings 18:20-39 how Elijah the prophet of almighty God challenges to every worshipper of Baal. He says to the people in 1 Kings 18:22-25, "I alone am left a prophet of the LORD; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men. Therefore let them give us two bulls; and let them choose one bull for themselves, cut it in pieces, and lay it on the wood, but put no fire under it; and I will prepare the other bull, and lay it on the wood, but put no fire under it. Then you call on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD; and the God who answers by fire, He is God. So all the people answered and said, "It is well spoken." Now Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, "Choose one bull for yourselves and prepare it first, for you are many; and call on the name of your god, but put no fire under it." And they did the same thing and cried out to Baal till morning to noon saying, O Baal, hear us, but nothing happened. They could not hear any voice nor get any answer from their god Baal. They cut themselves with knives and lances and blood gushed out from their bodies and they cried out but still nothing happened. But Elijah the prophet of the living God came and built the altar with 12 stones and he made a trench around the altar large enough to hold two seahs of seed. And he put the wood in order, cut the bull in pieces, and laid it on the wood, and said, "Fill four waterpots with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice and on the wood." Then he said, "Do it a second time," and they did it a second time; and he said, "Do it a third time," and they did it a third time. So the water ran all around the altar; and he also filled the trench with water. In other words, Elijah ruined the altar where he had to offer the burnt sacrifice. He filled the altar with water, then how can fire be kindled when it is in water? Yes, my friend, your life may be ruined and you may be thinking, "there is no hope for me." You may be thinking, "water is going above my head and I am about to be drowned in water, who can help me from this situation?" Yes, you may be in this situation today. But let me tell you, there is a God who loves you and cares for you. He wants to restore your life completely. He wants to rekindle life again in you. He wants to bring you out from the waters as He did in the life of Elijah. When we read further we see how the prayer of Elijah brought fire from heaven which consumed the whole burnt offering which was merged in deep water. Yes, there is a God who is mightier than your thoughts, mightier than your problems. He can burn your problems within a second. He can burn your sickness, He can burn your tears, He can burn your debts and renew life in you. Isa 54:5 For your Maker is your husband, The LORD of hosts is His name; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth. God is talking to Israel a nation under the covenant with God. God says He is the Redeemer, He is the Holy one of Israel, He is the God of the whole earth. O what a great God is our God. He says O Israel I have a covenant with you and because I have a covenant with you. I am your Redeemer. I was angry with you for a while but I will gather you back. And that is also not because of your good works but because of my mercies. Isa 54:7 "For a mere moment I have forsaken you, But with great mercies I will gather you. And this mercy this covenant is an everlasting covenant. He says with everlasting kindness He will have mercy on Israel the one with whom God has made a covenant. The one with whom God has signed a peace contract. Isa 54:8 With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you," Says the LORD, your Redeemer. My dear friends did you make a covenant with the Almighty God? Did you sign a peace contract with Him? If not better make a peace contract with the Almighty God. And He will become your Redeemer and your God. Yes The blood of Jesus Christ is available for you to be washed and cleansed. You can enter into the covenant with God through Jesus Christ the Redeemer, the Savior, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the World. When you make the covenant God says in Isa 54:10 For the mountains shall depart And the hills be removed, But My kindness shall not depart from you, Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed," Says the LORD, who has mercy on you. What a great God we server, His covenant is of everlasting covenant. His mercy is for ever, His grace is for ever. And He goes on to say "you who is afflicted one, tossed with tempest and are without comfort I will lay your stones with colorful gems, And lay your foundations with sapphires. I have heard many times people theologians say that God has called us to live a life of poverty, many say that poverty is a blessing and I have seen same people striving for prosperity in their own life. And here the God of Abraham, God of Isaac, God of Jacob says He is going to say your stones with colorful gems, and your foundations with sapphires. your pinnacles of rubies, gates of crystal, walls of precious stones not only that He will give the ability to enjoy it. Yes there are many people who have wealth but do not know how to enjoy. God says in Isa 54:13 All your children shall be taught by the LORD, And great shall be the peace of your children. Yes that is the secret of a life of joy and happiness. That they are taught by the Lord and they are walking in the ways of the Lord. they are having peace, joy, happiness. And it cannot come apart from God. Not only they know the ways of the Lord their children know the ways of the Lord, not only their peace is great their children's peace is great. That is how God want to bless a person who is in covenant with God. God does not stop there. He goes on saying Isa 54:14 In righteousness you shall be established; You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; And from terror, for it shall not come near you. What a blessing, you shall be far from oppression, fear, terror. verse 15 says whoever assembles against you shall fall. And in verse 17 He says Isa 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me," Says the LORD. Do you walk in righteousness? Do you walk in the ways of the Lord. You have a privilege of not only being protected from all evil but God your Lord will fight for you. He will settle your case. That is why He says vengeance belong to Me. It's the most privileged life to be walk in the ways of the Lord. It is the most wonderful thing a person can ever have in his/her life. Are you a child of God? Have you accepted Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior? if yes, be of good courage because Lord of Hosts the Holy one of Israel is your Redeemer. He is going to bless you abundantly. If you have not made a covenant with the Lord, If you have not accepted Him as your Lord as your Savior in your life. It is my humble request give your Life to Him. Tell Him Lord I have sinned against you. I am sorry for everything I have done. Please forgive me and wash me with your blood that you shed on the cross. Please make me your Child. Amen. He will gladly do that. He will wipe away your tears, He will cleanse you and will make you a new creation.May God bless you.
Looking into Heaven: I started walking down the believers' road instead. After traveling for about one hour the surface of the road turned to pure gold. It was so pure that when I looked down I could see my own reflection perfectly. I then saw a man standing in front of me. He was wearing a white robe. I also heard beautiful singing. Oh, it was so beautiful and pure! It was much better and more meaningful than the worship we have in churches here on the earth. The man in the white robe asked me to walk with him. I asked him, "What is your name?" but he did not answer. After I asked his name six times the man answered, "I am the one who holds the key to heaven. Heaven is a very, very beautiful place. You cannot go there now but if you follow Jesus Christ you can go there after your life has finished on the earth." The man's name was Peter. Peter then asked me to sit down and he showed me a place to the north. Peter said, "Look to the north and see God create man." I saw the Eternal God from a distance. God spoke, "Let us make man." And God created man. God blew on the man and the man came to life. He gave him the name "Adam". [Note: Buddhists do not believe in the Creation of the world or of man, so this experience had a significant impact on the monk]. Sent Back with a New Name: Then Peter said, "Now get up and go back to where you came from. Speak to the people who worship Buddha and who worship idols. Tell them they must go to hell if they don't change. Those who build temples and idols will also have to go to hell. Those who give offerings to the monks to earn merit for themselves will go to hell. All those who pray to the monks and call them 'Pra' [respectful title for monks] will go to hell. Those who chant and 'give life' to idols will go to hell. All those who don't believe in Jesus Christ will go to hell." Peter told me to go back to the earth and testify about the things I had seen. He also said, "You must speak in your new name. From now on you are to be called Athet Pyan Shinthaw Paulu ["Paul who Came Back to Life."]. I didn't want to go back. I wanted to go to heaven. Angels opened a book. First they looked for my childhood name (Thitpin) in the book, but they could not find it. They then looked for the name I had been given when I entered the Buddhist monkhood (U Nata Pannita Ashinthuriya) but it wasn't written in the book either. Then Peter said, "Your name is not written here, you must return and testify about Jesus to the Buddhist people." I walked back along the gold road. Again I heard beautiful singing, the kind of which I have never heard before or since. Peter walked with me until the time I returned to the earth. He showed me a ladder that reached down from the heaven to the sky. The ladder didn't reach to the earth, but stopped in mid-air. On the ladder I saw many angels, some going up to heaven and some going down the ladder. They were very busy. I asked Peter, "Who are they?" Peter answered, "They are messengers of God. The next thing I was aware of was the sound of weeping. I heard my own mother cry out, "My son, why did you leave us now?" I also heard many other people weeping. I realized I was lying in a box. I started to move. My mother and father started shouting, "He is alive! He is alive!" Other people who were farther away did not believe my parents. I then placed my hands on the sides of the box and sat upright. Many people were struck with terror. They cried out, "It is a ghost!" and ran away as fast as their legs could carry them. Those who remained were speechless and trembling. I noticed I was sitting in smelly liquid and body fluids, enough to fill about three and a half cups. This was liquid that had come out of my stomach and my insides while my body was lying in the coffin. This is why people knew I had indeed been dead. Inside the coffin there was a type of plastic sheet fixed to the wood. This sheet is placed there to retain a corpse's liquids, because many dead bodies release much fluid like mine did. I learned later that I was just moments away from being cremated in the flames. In Myanmar people are placed in a coffin, the lid is then nailed shut, and the whole coffin is burned. When I came back to life my mother and father were being allowed to look at my body for the very last time. Moments later the lid of my coffin would have been nailed shut and I would have been cremated! I immediately started to explain the things I had seen and heard. People were astonished. I told them about the men I had seen in the lake of fire, and told them that only the Christians know the truth, that our forefathers and us have been deceived for thousands of years! I told them everything we believe is a lie. The people were astonished because they knew what kind of a monk I had been and how zealous I had been for the teachings of Buddha. In Myanmar when a person dies their name and age is written on the side of the coffin. When a monk dies, the monk's name, age and the number of years he has served as a monk are written on the side of the coffin. I had already been recorded as dead but as you can see, now I am alive! Epilogue: Since 'Paul who came back to life' experienced the above story he has remained a faithful witness to the Lord Jesus Christ. Burmese pastors have told us that he had led hundreds of other monks to faith in Christ. His testimony is obviously very uncompromising. Because of that, his message has offended many people who cannot accept there is only one Way to Heaven, the Lord Jesus Christ. Despite great opposition, his experiences were so real to him that he has not wavered. After many years in the Buddhist monkhood, as a strict follower of Buddhist teachings, he immediately proclaimed the Gospel of Christ following his resurrection and exhorted other monks to forsake all false gods and follow Jesus Christ with all their hearts. Before the time of his sickness and death he had no exposure to Christianity at all. Everything he learned during those three days in the grave was new to his mind. In a bid to get his message out to as many people as possible, this modern-day Lazarus began distributing audio and video cassette tapes with his story on them. The police and Buddhist authorities in Myanmar have done their utmost to gather these tapes up and destroy them. The testimony you have just read has been translated from one of those cassette tapes. We are told it is now quite dangerous for citizens of Myanmar to be in possession of these tapes. His fearless testimony has landed him in prison at least once, where the authorities failed in their bid to silence him. Upon his release he continued to testify of the things he saw and heard. His current whereabouts are uncertain. One Burmese informant told us he is prison and may have been killed, while another informant has told he is now released from prison and is continuing his ministry. As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month.
