First of all let me thank you for responding to my last week's editorial. Though I do not want my editorial to be a battle field or debate forum still I will try to reply here. One sister wrote, "But what happened at WTC is a direct result of the sin which had caused the downfall of Sodom and Gamorah... We all have discerned in USA and India and understand from God the Holy Spirit that homosexuality, abortion, wrong relationship, DIVORCE not forgetting PRIDE...has caused the attacks." One other brother wrote, "Why is it that when something happens to the US it is because it supported a (self declared) noble cause: Israel and when such incidents happen elsewhere it is because the people in that region have sinned?" Once again I want to make it clear that this attack did not take place because of sin of America nor is it a judgment of God. Why I believe that it is not a judgment of God? Because before George W. Bush becoming president of United States Bill Clinton was president. Bill Clinton lived his life as he wanted. Prayers were not allowed in schools and other places. Taking the name of Jesus or God on national TV was prohibited. In a nation where a person had no other choice except to say "Happy Holidays" in place of "Happy Christmas". How many times I was surprised to see newsreaders say, "Happy Holidays" on Christmas but at the same time they could use the word "Happy Halloween". This was a nation where telling others about Jesus is considered as a hate crime. Last year one Judge was sued just because he put ten commandments in his court room. He used to pray before he started any sessions. He was harassed and persecuted. This nation who had banner of "One Nation under God" was really "under devil". But God did not forget this nation. When the last year election took place, many Christians and many Churches stood as one body and fasted and prayed for a godly man in oval office. I am not an American but I and my family also prayed for a miracle. Many a times people thought that George W. Bush will lose his battle but no, God heard the cry of millions of Christians in America. And we saw a great change since then. As soon as George W. Bush came to power, he declared national day of prayer and we started seeing change in this nation. Now when the whole nation is already repenting and turning to God then why God will punish this nation? I do not see any reason of punishment here. If it was a punishment or judgment of God then why it did not take place in the time of Bill Clinton? And today when the whole nation is in the grip of grief and pain, we see more hunger and thirst for God. The same national TV stations who were not mentioning the name of God were again and again playing "God bless America". Last week we were returning from prayer meeting. How wonderful feeling it was when I saw a digital bill board on express way which usually played the advertisement of beer was playing again and again, "In God we trust, together we stand." Yes, this tragedy has stirred this nation and this nation is looking towards God. Same sister wrote, "I am not disputing your views...but when you have always been bold enough , "WHY not this time", was my question.... I have admired your boldness.... as almost EVERY TIME you have related a tragedy as a consequence of SIN... " Well, I am not a person who listens to other's opinion and write something here. I do not spin here and there on other's opinion but I spend hours in prayer to bring out a message from God. It is my heart's utmost desire that I may touch the heart of God and bring a message from His throne. If I write anything hearing from various people, I am sure, I will soon become a tennis ball. And as for as the question of boldness, no, I am not a bold person. I am the most timid, most shy and a person who always try to hide behind others. But I am neither ashamed nor afraid of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If you have seen any boldness in me, it is not mine but you have seen the boldness of God in me and through me. It is true that I am not a bold person but God used me in places were many bold people fear to go. I am working among the Muslims from last two years. Almost every day I get mails filled with abuse, threats and foul languages. Many a times I thought, "why I should read all these non-sense?" Many a times I cried and said to God that I can not do this any more. Many a times I thought to quit those forums but whenever I thought to quit, a great burden came into my heart and I thought, "oh, my God, if they die today, where will they go?" And that was the only thing which made me to stay in those forums. Just two-three days back one Muslim man wrote to me, "renounce your faith in Christ and believe in Allah otherwise get ready to be roasted." Do you think that these threats will shake my faith? Of course not! But these mails give me more burden to reach out and rescue those who are blinded by devil. When you compare American tragedy with Gujarat, yes, Gujarat's tragedy was a judgment of God. Gujarati people might have not committed the sin like homosexuality, wrong relationship, divorce, abortion etc but they shed innocent blood and polluted the land. Many Christians were persecuted and killed in that place. Govt. did not hear any appeal made by innocent people. Finally God took the judgment in His hand and a great earth-quake came in that region. But still God wants to forgive if a person turn to God and repent from his/her sins. Still God wants to give a life full of peace, joy and happiness if they turn to Him.. Today, if a person speaks about prophets or someone prophesying then it raises so many questions and doubts in one's mind. Many think that there is no prophet today and many think that only false prophets are in this world and no true prophets, some think that prophet days are over. Why is there so many different opinions about prophets? I can say that it is because of lack of knowledge. Most of the people do not read the Bible and so they do not know what is in it. Many form their opinion by listening to Pastors, leaders or scholars. Last week one brother wrote to me, "The New Testament gift of prophecy is not on the same order as the Old Testament mantle of a prophet, where the words of the prophet were recorded as the Written Word of God, i.e. the Scriptures of the Bible. NO prophet speaking today can prophesy in a way that would cause us to add new Books and chapters to the Bible. In that sense, i.e. the Old Testament mantle of prophecy has ceased completely, as has the Canon of Scripture, with the last apostle. Today's New Testament gift of prophecy is primarily to edify the church as the apostle Paul has written in 1 Corinthians." But no, it is not true! There were many prophets at Old Testament time who never wrote anything. For example Abraham was a prophet according to Genesis 20:7 but he did not write any books. Also there were so many other prophets in Israel in the time of Old Testament who never wrote any books. In fact the same gift of prophecy which operated in Old Testament prophets operates now also upon people when they get filled with the Holy Spirit. In Old Testament we see that Holy Spirit came upon them and they prophesied and we see the same thing in New Testament that when the Holy Spirit came upon them they prophesied or they activated other gifts of the Holy Spirit. So when we say that Old Testament prophecies have ceased completely it means we do see some changes in the quality of God while the Bible says that God does not change. He spoke to His people in Old Testament and He speaks in the same way in New Testament. There is no change in His speaking. If anybody thinks that God stopped speaking today then the question arises, why God will suddenly decide not to speak? Why God will suddenly take a decision that, He is not going to speak any more or not going to lead His people any more?" No, Bible does not support this idea. And another question arises that if God stopped speaking then who was the last prophet? Again Bible does not support the idea of last prophet because we see prophets in Old Testament as well as in New Testament. Let us come back to our question, "who is a true prophet?" A true prophet is one who brings a message from God and tells the thing which is about to take place in future no matter whether it is for himself, his family, his community, his nation or for the whole world. Take the example of Joseph. When Joseph was a little child, God showed him in dreams the things which were about to come as we read in Genesis 37:7, "There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf." When his brothers heard this they said to him in Genesis 37:8, "Shall you indeed reign over us? Or shall you indeed have dominion over us?" So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words." And the Bible says that he saw another dream in Genesis 37:9, "Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me." It was a rough picture of Joseph's future which God showed him through dreams. And what happened in his life immediately after seeing those dreams may make anybody hardly believe whether these dreams will ever come true. Days and months passed by, and not only Joseph's life's dreams faded but also he would have lost all hopes of any good future. But one day King saw a dream and came to know that Joseph can interpret his dream. He brought Joseph out of dungeon. Joseph tells the interpretation of the dream which was as strange as the dream was. No one could have expected these types of scarcity in that land but it took place affecting the whole world. But because Joseph got the solution from God for that particular problem he made arrangements to tackle the situation. Yes, a true prophet not only sees the problem that we may come across but also brings solution for that problem. Because he showed the solution of collecting grain for seven full years, they had enough grain to distribute for the people of whole world. Not only that, but his dream which he saw in his childhood came true when his brothers and the whole family came to see him and they could see him in a very high position. But now the question is, how we will be able to recognize who the true prophet is and who is not?True prophet brings message from God but false prophet brings message from devil. But God gave the gift of discernment to know who is from God and who is not from God as we read in 1 Cor 12:10, that Holy Spirit gives gift of discerning of spirits." Today our Churches need this precious gift to test every spirit and see whether they are from God or not. Bible says in 1 John 4:1-2, "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God."

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month.
