Paul writes in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, "in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

One may think that how a person can ever praise God if he/she saw dreadful evil in his/her life? Yes, it is not very easy to praise God when you have lost your loved one or something terrible happened in your life. But the tragedy that took place on 11th September at World Trade Center gave new meaning for many people to praise God. Many TV interviews show that people are praising God as never before. When they were asked why they are giving thanks to God? Some said, because they are alive and they got second chance to live, some said, they started thinking how valuable life is.

No doubt that life is a precious gift from God. Everyday we wake up and walk because of His grace alone.

Psalmist says in Psalms 104:29, "You hide Your face, they are troubled; You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust." This is our life - it is very fragile . We should be thankful for the life given by God. Soon this life on earth will end but death is not the end of our lives. Bible tells us that there is life beyond death. Jesus said in John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

If you want to live eternally with God in peace and joy you must invite Jesus in your life. When He will come in He will give you a new meaning to life. He will change your life and fill your life with His peace, joy and happiness that world can not give. My friend, you might have lost your loved one and are grieving in this time of celebration but if you look to Jesus and thank for all situation of your life, He will bless your life. Thanks Giving is not a matter of one day in a year but it is a everyday task to show the gratitude toward God and His blessings.

We wish all the readers a very happy and blessed Thanks Giving and happy Holidays! May God fill your heart with His praises.

If you have any prayer request please feel free to send it to us. We will pray for you. Now you can listen to us on Internet at this address: http://www.VoiceOfWilderness.com

knowing the will of God

By Sheela Isaac

1 John 2:17, "And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever."

Those who love God and do the will of God abide forever. Whole Christian life depends upon these things. Bible clearly speaks about the people and prophets of God who walked in His ways and who were able to fulfill His commandments and will. God exalted them and raised them to the higher positions. If you read Bible you can easily understand that the prophets who did God's will were excelled to the higher positions. The prophets who obeyed God and were able to know God's will became great prophets of Bible.

Moses was the greatest prophet of all. He was able to know the will of God each and every time that is why he could lead more than 600,000 people from Egypt to the land of milk and honey. David was a great king. What made him great king simply because he was able to know the perfect will of God for his life. He fought many battles and could win each battle. Joseph became Prime Minister in a foreign land where he was sold as slave. Why? The reason is very simple again he could know the will of God each and every time. He could act according to God's will and could foretell about the coming famine in the land of Egypt.

Each and everyone who has done mighty things for the Lord were ordinary people like you and me. But because they were able to know the heart of God they did extra ordinary things for the Lord. That's what made them extra ordinary people out of ordinary. You may be doing ministry, you may be an evangelist, pastor, preacher, or minister of the Gospel. Do you see the mighty things in your ministry? Do you see mighty miracles which were spoken in the Bible? Do you see your messages turn the heart of people? If not it is time to think about it. "What is wrong with me?", Why I do not experience such a miracle which Bible describes?, Why my messages does not touch even a single heart? Have you ever thought about it?

We do not see any miracles in our lives or ministry, we even are not able to see a headache getting healed, but many times when we see a great preacher or a great crowd we jump up and say "oh it must be a false prophet or a false teacher." Do you think that false prophets are more powerful than real ones? Do you think that devil is more powerful than God? Why false prophets are able to do mighty miracles but people of living God are not? Why devil is able to do mighty miracles but God is not? Pharisee's also thought about Jesus the same way. That is why they spoke all kinds of rubbish things about Jesus. They said: Mat 12:24, "Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, "This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons."

Look at Jesus Christ our master and Lord who performed more miracles than any one in this earth. Look at Lord Jesus Christ who pulled greater crowds than we do this day. Look at Lord Jesus Christ who raised the dead Lazarus which we are not able to do. Lord Jesus said "if you believe in Me you will do greater works than what I did."

John 14:12, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father."

Yes my friend time has come for Church to raise up and do the things which Lord Jesus promised. We need to get up from our sleep. We need to get up from our worldly good for nothing rituals. We need to awake from our so called righteousness which can not please living and true God. Today world is looking for Elijha and Elisha, who can bring down fire from heaven. Today world is looking for a prophet like Moses who can deliver them out of bondage, out of darkness of sin and sinful life style. Today world is looking for a prophet who can bring messages of deliverance from the throne of God.

We are tired to hear the same messages over and over again. We are tired to hear the same message year after year in each Christmas and in each Easter. Today we need the preachers who can bring God's word from God's throne. Today we need the people who could hear the word from God Himself and bring it down for hurting and perishing world. We are tired of man made rituals which does not and can not help anybody.

If you want to become a preacher like Moses and Joseph. You must know how to hear the God's voice. You must know the will of almighty God. It does not come by reading some books or by bringing some message from head knowledge but it comes by sacrifice, more prayer and holiness. The more you spend time at the presence of God the more you will be able to know the heart of God.

David did not win his battles because of his ability or tricks or because of his army. No, but he could defeat his enemies because of his walk with God. He waited patiently at the feet of God to know His will. He was able to communicate with God each and every time for help. He was a child of God that is why he had a free access to God. Bible says about David that each and every time he inquired of the Lord before he did anything. His each step was guided by almighty God. He did not go for battle because of his might or wisdom. No when Keilah was attacked by Philistines David asked God what to do. 1 Sam 23:2 Therefore David inquired of the LORD, saying, "Shall I go and attack these Philistines?" And the LORD said to David, "Go and attack the Philistines, and save Keilah."

David's men said to him, "do not go for war, we are already in trouble". As we see they were hiding in caves due to fear of King Saul. Saul was seeking David to kill him. 1 Sam 23:3 But David's men said to him, "Look, we are afraid here in Judah. How much more then if we go to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?"

What David did in this situation? Did he say ok my people are right. No he did not believe in man's ability or thoughts, but he knew that God is able to lead him in a right path. 1 Sam 23:4, "Then David inquired of the LORD once again. And the LORD answered him and said, "Arise, go down to Keilah. For I will deliver the Philistines into your hand."

David sought the will of God and we find further David and his men won the war and they were able to save people of Keilah from the hands of enemy.

Now here is the second incidence in the life of David. David hears that Saul is planning to come to Keilah to catch him. Now David could have thought "I saved this people of Keilah so they will also save me from the hands of Saul." But David did not rely on his own logic and wisdom, he knew that there is a God who knows better than him. He looked toward God. Here you will find God's reply was entirely opposite than what a human mind can think.

1 Sam 23:11 "Will the men of Keilah deliver me into his hand? Will Saul come down, as Your servant has heard? O LORD God of Israel, I pray, tell Your servant." And the LORD said, "He will come down."

1 Sam 23:12 Then David said, "Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul?" And the LORD said, "They will deliver you."

God says "yes Saul will come down to catch you",
God says "yes people of Keilah will deliver you in the hands of Saul."

God's wisdom is greater. David relayed on God's wisdom that's how he could escape from the hands of his enemy, because he sought the will of God. He was diligent to know the will of God.

Bible talks about many prophets who sought the will of God and they were successful in their lives. Do you want to be successful in life? Do you want to see greater miracles in your life? Do you want to see that God is using you mightily for His glory? Get ready to seek God with your whole heart. Get ready to know the will of God in each and every thing you do. If you seek God you will be successful. You will see greater heights in your ministry and in your personal life.

May God help you.

Bless the Lord, O my soul

By Sherly Isaac

Psalms 103:1-5, "Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's."

These verses tells us why we should thank God.

1. Forgives all our iniquities:
We should thank God for all His benefits. God forgives and forgets all our iniquities. There is no one who can forgive our sins but God alone. Bible says in Isaiah 38:17, "Indeed it was for my own peace That I had great bitterness; But You have lovingly delivered my soul from the pit of corruption, For You have cast all my sins behind Your back."

When Jesus was in this world He forgave the sins of people and pardoned their sins. Today, you may be living in sin and may be unable to come out of your sin and sinful nature but Jesus can forgive all your sins and can give you a new life. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-29, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

Today, Jesus is calling you to come and get rid of your loads of sin at His feet and He will give you rest.

2. Heals all our diseases:
We should thank God who alone has power to heal our diseases. Jesus went through terrible agony and pain. He suffered maximum for me and you so that we may come out of our pain and sorrow. He went to the cross not because of His sins but because of our sins. He took our place on the cross - the place where you and me had to be. Today, we can get complete healing from our sicknesses, pain and suffering because 2000 years ago Jesus paid the price for us.

3. Redeems your life from destruction:
God promised protection for His people. We read in the Old and New Testament both that God wants to protect and deliver us from all evil. Psalmist says in Psalms 91:3, "Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you."

And also the Bible says in Psalms 27:1-3, "The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell. Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war should rise against me, In this I will be confident."

Yes, there is a God who wants to protect you from all evil. You may be afraid and trembling with fear but Jesus can deliver you from all your fears.

4. Gives blessings and good things:
God of the Bible is interested to bless our lives and fill us with His goodness and mercy. In whole Bible we see that those who walked in the ways of God they enjoyed the blessings of God in their lives. Israelites rejoiced the blessings of God though they were in wilderness but when they murmured against God they lost the blessings of God.

In this Thanks Giving let us look back and thank God for all the blessings He poured upon us. No matter how much we may be hurting and in pain let us say thank you Jesus. When we will give thanks to Him, He will bless us and make us happy.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
