Matthew 5:21-22, "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment. But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, 'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of hell fire."Today, murdering people, shooting, killing has become a fashion. Even small kids use guns and other harmful weapons. Few years back in Chicago one summer afternoon when Ice Cream van came in front of a house few youngsters opened fire and killed one man and injured many. When they were asked why they did it, their reply was, "We did it for fun." Almost ten years back in India Hindu fanatics demolished the 16th century Babri Mosque that resulted violence and riots. Many were killed in the name of religion. Last month again the riots started between Hindus and Muslims and killed more than 700 people. Now Hindu activist are ready to go to Ayodhya on 15th of this month and built Hindu temple on the same spot where once Muslim mosque stood. Why it should happen? It seems that no value of life left in this world. They are ready to kill each other and die themselves. But the Bible says that murder is sin and the Bible also says that murderer will not go to heaven no matter how you justify the act of murder. Bible tells us about Shechem the Hivite, prince of the country where Jacob went to stay, he raped Jacob's daughter Dinah. When sons of Jacob heard all these things they got very angry. They tricked Shechem and said we are ready to give our sister if every male among them is circumcised. And Bible further says in Genesis 34:25-26, "Now it came to pass on the third day, when they were in pain, that two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah's brothers, each took his sword and came boldly upon the city and killed all the males. And they killed Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge of the sword, and took Dinah from Shechem's house, and went out."Further we read in Genesis 34:30-31, 'Then Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, "You have troubled me by making me obnoxious among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites; and since I am few in number, they will gather themselves together against me and kill me. I shall be destroyed, my household and I. But they said, "Should he treat our sister like a harlot?"Of course they had a just cause of their violence but it did not please God or Jacob. When Jacob was about to die he prophesied about his twelve sons in which he spoke about Simon and Levi like this in Genesis 49:5-7, "Simeon and Levi are brothers; Instruments of cruelty are in their dwelling place. Let not my soul enter their council; Let not my honor be united to their assembly; For in their anger they slew a man, And in their self-will they hamstrung an ox. Cursed be their anger, for it is fierce; And their wrath, for it is cruel! I will divide them in Jacob And scatter them in Israel.Yes, God hates violence and innocent killings. Take the example of Cain. Cain and His brother Abel both brought the sacrifice for God. God accepted the sacrifice of Able and rejected the sacrifice of Cain. When Cain saw that his sacrifice was not accepted, he got very angry and finally killed his brother Abel. His brother annoyed him so he had just cause to kill him but did it please God? Of course not! God cursed him as we read in Genesis 4:10-12, And He said, "What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries out to Me from the ground. So now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand. When you till the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth."If you think that you are killing others because Muslims or Christians or Hindus have offended you and it is just cause but let me tell you that God is not happy with what you are doing. Bible says in Genesis 9:6, "Whoever sheds man's blood, By man his blood shall be shed; For in the image of God He made man."But if you turn to God and repent from your sins God will forgive you and give you a new life.
I will build your house
Psalms 127:1, "Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain."Bible tells us in this verse that unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain. Today many homes are broken and many are at the brink of divorce. The reason is very simple, when they built their home They never asked God who will be the right person for their life partner. They never took the counsel of God as we read in Isaiah 30:1, "Woe to the rebellious children," says the LORD, "Who take counsel, but not of Me, And who devise plans, but not of My Spirit, That they may add sin to sin."Yes, many have built their homes without the counsel of God or Holy Spirit and they are at the brink of their marriages. They do not know what to do now. But if you turn to God and ask His help, He will certainly help you. I remember how broken our home was. Our teatime or dinnertime was always turned into heated debates and ended up in fighting. It wasn't one day's problem but everyday it continued. Finally we invited Jesus in our lives and in our home, when Jesus came into our lives and our home, He changed everything. He removed every quarrel from our home and gave peace joy and happiness that world cannot give. But the other side when a person asks God to build his/her home or when a person takes counsel from God for his marriage, God shows right person. That home cannot be shaken because it is built on the rock of ages - Jesus Christ Himself. If you want a blessed home, if you want a happy home wait on God until He guides you for particular person.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 13th May. 2008
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 13th May. 2008
