Once I heard a true story. One young man was employed as a soldier in the army of a king. He fell in love with a beautiful young lady of his town. Both were engaged. Time passed by. The young man did a crime and the king got very angry. King ordered for the execution of the soldier on a particular day at 6 PM. In those days they used to ring the church bell every hour of the day to know the time. All the preparations were made to execute the soldier at that particular time when the Church bell will ring.

The day came for his execution and everybody waited for the church bell to ring at 6 PM, but it was past 5 minutes, still there was no bell sound, ten minutes passed, fifteen minutes and half an hour passed but there was no bell sound. Everybody was puzzled, as no one could understand what happened to the bell ringer. While they were wondering and thinking what the problem could be, suddenly they saw a young lady rushing toward the place of execution. She was in a blood bath and her hands were broken. She came straight to the king and fell before him pleading to the king for pardoning her fiancé.

Everyone standing there then realized why the Church bell did not ring. This young lady had climbed up to the top of the tower where the huge bell was hung and had clung to the bell hammer. When the bell ringer rang the bell she came between every stroke of the bell hammer and the iron rim of the bell and that was the reason why no one could hear the bell sound at 6 PM. Bell ringer was an old deaf man and so he also did not realize that the bell did not ring.

The king was greatly surprised seeing her love toward her fiancée. He ordered for the release of the soldier from punishment and execution.

She loved her fiancé so much that she did not even bother about her life. In the same way Jesus loved us so much that He sacrificed His life for our redemption. He came down in this world and died on our behalf. He shed His precious blood on the cruel cross so that we could be released from our sins and punishment. His hands were broken for us, His body was broken for us, His blood was shed for us. There is no other reason except the love that made Him to do this for us. It was the love that brought Him down and made Him to give the ultimate sacrifice for us. Even today with His broken arms and with His shed blood, He is pleading to Father, “Please forgive their sins and give them eternal life.”

When you celebrate Valentine day on 14th February, think about this greatest love shown to mankind. There is no greater love than this that when we were yet sinners, Jesus came and died for us. We are heading towards punishment and eternal damnation but to redeem us He gave Himself for us. If you have not yet accepted Jesus in your life as your Lord and Savior, this is the time to invite Him in your life. Even today with His broken arms and with His shed blood, He is pleading to Father, “Please forgive their sins and give them eternal life.” Will you hear His voice and come to Him today? Will you accept the greatest love in your life?

Why Sacrifice was needed – Part 5

God gave the Law to Moses and asked him to take two goats. One was to be offered as sin offering and the other one was to be driven away into the wilderness bearing all the iniquities of the children of Israel. We read in Lev 16:7-10, "He shall take the two goats and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of meeting. Then Aaron shall cast lots for the two goats: one lot for the LORD and the other lot for the scapegoat. And Aaron shall bring the goat on which the Lord's lot fell, and offer it as a sin offering. But the goat on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make atonement upon it, and to let it go as the scapegoat into the wilderness.”

And also in Lev 16:21-22, "Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, confess over it all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions, concerning all their sins, putting them on the head of the goat, and shall send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a suitable man. The goat shall bear on itself all their iniquities to an uninhabited land; and he shall release the goat in the wilderness.”

In these verses we read about the scapegoat or sin bearing scapegoat who could bear all their iniquities, all their sins and transgressions upon itself and be taken away to far away place so that the Israelites could be free from their sins and live a holy life. The Bible also tells us in Isaiah 53:6 that God laid all our iniquity on Messiah who bore all our iniquities as we read, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.”

Bible also tells us in Isaiah 53:10, “Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand.”

Yes, Jesus the Messiah took all our sins on Him and died on behalf of us as sin offering so that we could come out of our sins and live a holy life. He became sin for us and died on behalf of us bearing all the sins of whole humanity. Just to deliver us, just to make us free from our sins.

In India there was a family who lived in utter poverty. Their meager income could not support the family of six. Many a times they lived without any food and sickness bothered them very often. One day the head of the family went to consult with a Hindu priest and asked him the reason for his misery and suffering. The Priest told him that it was because of the sin of his forefathers. He gave the solution that, “if he sacrifice his oldest son, then he could get rid of all the curses, misery, sufferings and pain. He went home and made up his mind to sacrifice his oldest son so that blessings may come in his house. He carefully planned everything and hired some professional killers for this task. Those worthless men befriended the son of this man. One day they started a quarrel and finally killed him. Soon the head of the family was caught by police and he revealed the reason for giving his own son to be killed. Oh, the whole family was pushed to more misery and pain. Not only the mother of that boy was traumatized and had frequent sicknesses but father also was terribly shaken. The whole family was torn with grief. Their lives became unbearably painful.

My dear friend, you need not have such a sacrifice for the blessings of your family, because Jesus has already given Himself as the sacrifice for us. You have to only accept Him as your Lord and Savior. When He will come into your life and into your family, He will bring blessings and prosperity in your life.

Let me give another incident, which I heard about a man who lived in USA. He had no peace in his life and mind. One day someone told him to go to Satan’s Church to get complete peace in his life. So he went there and he was asked by the priest to cut his finger and shed its blood at the altar of Satan. He did the same thing. But he could not get any peace. Instead of it he was in immense pain. But he believed in the priest and he obeyed what he said to him. When the priest saw that he could not receive any peace, he asked him, “cut one more finger and this time you will receive peace.” So the poor man did the same thing, yet there was no peace. He ran outside screaming in great pain. While he was going in the street crying in pain, one evangelist saw him and asked, “What’s the mater?” He told him the entire story. Then the Evangelist told him about the love of Jesus Christ. He said about the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cruel cross to give us perfect peace. The man knelt down and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and immediately he got the peace for which he was searching and for which he lost his fingers.

For our peace and for our blessings Jesus died on the cruel cross. He shed His precious blood for our redemption and deliverance. Are you suffering today, are you living in sin, do you have no peace, joy and happiness in your life, is your marriage broken, are you at the end of your life? Come to Jesus and give your life to Jesus. He is ready to embrace you and give you a new life that is filled with peace and joy. He bore our sins on the cross; you need not to live in sin and addiction anymore. Before He went to the cross, He was scourged so that we could get healing in our body. For our peace He was chastised. Invite Jesus in your life.

Hello brothers and sisters,
I'd like to tell you how good I feel reading News Letter. I live in Brazil, a country where there are thousands of Evangelicals Churches, but some of Christians do not know how our brothers, in other countries, live and work for the Lord and his Kingdom. Some months ago I met a man (an engeneer from Bombay in India) and we talked about our lives. I told him I was Christian (Evangelical) and what I believe and trust... so he told me about thousands of gods from India and about the one he trusted.... I realy felt upset... How such an inteligent man like that could believe those things and all those dead gods???????

He works in a ship and returned to his country but I kept disturbed.... Then I searched for information about Christians and churches in India... when I found your site and read all you've done ... how people have accepted Jesus... how God's Word is proclaimed... I felt so happy!!!!!! thanks for that. Now I know my friend has a chance to know Jesus, his love and salvation.

I'm sure Jesus loves you all and the purpose of this newsletter... so do I !!!May God bless you all,
A. Sá

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
