Last week I received one email from Mr. P.N. Benjamin Coordinator of Bangalore Initiative for Religious Dialogue (BIRD) who calls himself a Christian but I came to know that he is actually a RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) worker that is a radical Hindu organization. He wrote, “Please stop Gospelling about Bush, Iraq, sin, life after death and the like and start discussing basic problems like food, shelter and clothing for the wretched of the earth. They are not interested in life after death but are worried about life after birth. QUOTING BIBLE CHAPTER and verse will not fill their stomachs. People like you who have everything must start doing something ameliorate the poor people's sufferings. End this stunt of preaching the Good News. When your stomach is full and bank balances swell you can afford to preach. Learn to practice what you preach. Please open up your newsletter to discuss earthly needs of the poor. If you have guts publish my views unedited and ask for a net-debate.”Yes, today people talk about everything but they do not want to speak or hear about the very source of peace and blessings that is Jesus Christ alone. They simply reject Jesus who can give us not only spiritual blessings but also material blessings. He is a God who hears our cries and answers it as we read in Psalms 77:1, “I cried out to God with my voice; To God with my voice; And He gave ear to me.” In the Bible we read about God as Father. He led Israelites as His own children, fed them, took care of them and met all their needs. Whenever they were thirsty He gave them to drink, whenever they were hungry He gave them food. He never left them nor forsook them. Though many a times Israelites rebelled against God and were not faithful to Him still He led them and took care of them. Today also He is the same God who wants to take care of us and wants to bless our lives. He is very much interested to meet our needs. But sometimes people do not want Him to come between the world and them. They do not have guts to say NO to the world or sins of the world and say YES to Jesus and His holiness. They want to stay in misery, pain, poverty and sorrow. They want to hold the world with their hands and be dragged with the lusts and sins of the world. Sometimes it becomes the prestige issue and they think, “If I would not listen to my friends and if I would not go with them in their drinking parties or in wrong places what would they think?” Last week Episcopalian Church ordained an openly gay person as Bishop. And the people were applauding and cheering as they were doing a wonderful job. How can a person lead his congregation in right direction when he is openly rejecting Jesus and His teachings? It does not need guts to speak the message as people want but of course it need guts to speak the true message of Jesus Christ as it is recorded in the Bible. Today many of our Churches have failed to show what Jesus really was and what is the true message of Jesus Christ. In the name of love and humbleness they have sold their souls to devil. They think that they can live in sin and still they can please God. Even many Indian Churches have merged with UCC that supports gay activity. Our pastor and some of the members were also very much interested to merge our Church with UCC. They explained the benefits of merging with them were that they give away big parish buildings for free of cost. For money they were ready to do anything.But money is not everything. Our lives are more valuable than money and goods of the world. When we give our lives in the hands of God, He takes care of every aspect of our lives. Jesus said in Matthew 6:33-34, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” If you have not yet accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, in this Father’s day invite Him in your life. He is the same God who led people and they never lacked anything. He can help you, lead you and meet all your needs. He will wipe away all your tears and make you a blessed person. We wish you all a very happy and blessed Father’s Day.
There we go again
It was only last week when Bush and world leaders discussed on so called “Road map to peace” and today situation is worse than before. Do we really think that Palestines wants peace? The Hamas leader Abdel Aziz Rantisi said that they would fight until they could kill every single Zionist. This is the main aim of Palestins and Muslims. They want to kill every Jews and Christians. But the Bible says about Israel in Deu 32:9-11, “For the Lord's portion is His people; Jacob is the place of His inheritance. He found him in a desert land And in the wasteland, a howling wilderness; He encircled him, He instructed him, He kept him as the apple of His eye. As an eagle stirs up its nest, Hovers over its young, Spreading out its wings, taking them up, Carrying them on its wings.”And also in Zec 2:7-8, "Up, Zion! Escape, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon "For thus says the LORD of hosts: "He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.”When we read in the Bible we find that God did mighty things in the lives of Israelites and gave them victory. Before enemy came or struck them God showed it before hand. But today we do not see those things, what is the reason of it? The simple reason is there is no prophet in Israel. Bible tells us in 2nd Kings 6:8-12 that when king of Syria was making war against Israel and he consulted with his servants, saying, "My camp will be in such and such a place." And the man of God sent to the king of Israel, saying, "Beware that you do not pass this place, for the Syrians are coming down there." Then the king of Israel sent someone to the place of which the man of God had told him. Thus he warned him, and he was watchful there, not just once or twice. Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was greatly troubled by this thing; and he called his servants and said to them, "Will you not show me which of us is for the king of Israel?" And one of his servants said, "None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom."Elisha was a prophet in Israel and who could tell the King of Israel before hand that from where king of Syria would attack and what are the planning of king of Syria. Yes, God of the Bible wants to protect His people and wants to show where is danger and how to avoid it. God spoke to His people through various methods in past and one of the methods was through prophets. God showed the prophets everything before hand and Israelites were protected from war.Yes, my friend, these problems cannot be solved by political parties or through world leaders who do big summits and still we do not see a good outcome of it. But a prophet can change the destiny of a nation. Are you thinking that why so much problem in Israel or other parts of the world today? And what is the solution of it? Israel needs a prophet so do other countries. God wants to rise up many prophets and apostles in these last days. Are you one of them? The Bible says in Joel 2:28-29, "And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.”He is calling people to become a prophet for Him and shake the nations with His mighty power. Will you accept His call? If yes, ask Him to make you a prophet and use you among your people to reveal God’s will.
Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th July. 2008
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 8th July. 2008
