Last week I attended a meeting where one youth representative said, "there are very few things being done for youths and to solve their problems. In our Churches so much fighting is going on. Youths are struggling with their own weaknesses like drugs and so on, but there is no one to take care of their needs... " How true it is! What our Churches are doing for youths and for their needs or problems? Many do not have time to think about it. Even many Pastors and Bishops do not care about them. Recently I read a post in a forum like this, "When someone had asked the Bishop, what his vision is for the future of CSI (Church of South India) and for the youths in North America under CSI and what his reaction is regarding youths leaving CSI (Church of South India), his answer basically was that if the youth likes the Malayalee culture, they will stay in CSI."

Our Churches are becoming more and more self-centered rather than focusing on the problems people face and to solve it in a Christian way. Church is supposed to be the place where one could experience the tender care of the living God the ever-living shepherd Jesus Christ, but somewhere we have forgotten to show the love and care of Jesus Christ. Churches where one could get rid of their heavy burdens and take a deep breath of relief, have become a place of politics, power struggle and money making business.

Bible tells us in Matthew 21:12-13 that, "Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. And He said to them, "It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a 'den of thieves.'"

Did Jesus expect us to create this type of Church? Jesus Himself said in Mat 16:18, "And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it." Jesus wanted to build His Church where there would be no place for powers of darkness and powers of hell, death, destruction, misery and pain to prevail. But He wanted to make His Church a blessed Church where everyone could live in peace and joy. He wanted to make His Church a living Church where people could worship Him in Truth and in Spirit.

Are we ready to submit our lives to Jesus and His will so that He could make His Church a house of prayer and a place where every person could find peace and solace? Are we ready to leave our wrong ways and turn to Jesus to fulfill His perfect will so that we could create a Church according to His own heart? Today Jesus is calling you, come to Jesus!

How to live a Victorious life?

By Sherly Isaac

Very often we receive mails saying, "how to live a holy life? How to come out of addictions of pornography, alcohol, drugs, lust and other kinds of bondages." Many are desperate to find an answer; many are sick and tired of their lifestyles. Many have tried their best but could not come out of their bondages. And in desperation they ask, "Is there a solution for my addiction? Is there a way out? Can I live a holy life without falling in temptations?...." Yes, there is a way out. Jesus came in this world for the very purpose to deliver us from our bondages. Jesus said in Luke 4:18-19, "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD."

Jesus came to liberate those who are in captivity and He came to liberate those who are oppressed or tormented by devil and his tricks. He gave His precious life for us so that we could have liberty and freedom from all bondages, from all addictions and from all bad habits. You can get this liberty or freedom by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior. If you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you can do that by praying a simple prayer that would be at the end of this article. When a person accepts Jesus as his/her Lord and Savior, at that time, God forgives all the past sins and gives him/her a new life. As you go further in this new life, temptations will come, problems will come but Jesus will give you new strength to live a holy life. Let us look from the Bible how a person can live victorious life in this world itself.

1. Have courage to say "NO":

When temptations come in your life, when old friends come and say, "let us go to drink in bars.... let us go in filthy places.. or so on" simply tell them, no, because you are a Christian, you cannot do that or you cannot go to those wrong places. A person who goes for battle, if he does not have the mind of a winner, he cannot win the battle but he will surely lose his battle. A true soldier will fight till his last breath without giving up. The same thing is true here when we accept Jesus in our lives. A struggle starts between old life and new life. That is the reason why Jesus said in Mark 14:38, "Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

And the Bible says in Eph 6:12-13, "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." And if you read further it says about the divine armor that we need in our lives.

Joseph was a young man and he was surrounded by temptations just like any of the young person of this age. Bible says in Gen 39:7 that Joseph's master's wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, "Lie with me." And it was not a problem of one or two days but day after day she tempted him. Before Joseph there were two choices, either to give up and yield to the temptation or have courage to say NO to adultery in that most difficult circumstance. Joseph was a slave boy in a strange land. His own life was in danger by denying the offer of his mistress. But this young man feared God and had courage to say "NO". Result was of course painful as he was thrown into jail with false accusations. But the day came when God exalted him before others and made him a powerful person who was next to Pharaoh (the king of Egypt) in Egypt.

Do not yield to the temptations that can give you temporary pleasure but will lead you to destruction, but have courage to say "NO" to sin.

2. Never look back:

Many a times the reason for falling into temptation is because of thinking about the past sinful life or remembering past sins and it becomes a snare for their new life. We read in Genesis about Lot and his family. God decided to destroy the cities of Sodom and Gomorra because of the sin of the inhabitants. But He intended to save the family of Lot. So He sent angels and said to Lot that he and his family should get out of that land. They did according to the words of the angels. And when Lot got out of that land and entered Zoar, the LORD rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorra, from the heavens. The angels had warned them beforehand that they should not look back, but Lot's wife could not resist herself and looked back as we read in Gen 19:26, "But his wife looked back behind him, and she became a pillar of salt."

Once you have escaped from the sins of your past, don't look back towards those sins again. It will doom you. Apostle Paul writes in Rom 12:1-2, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

Live a life pleasing to God and run the race looking forward towards the goal. No one can win the race if he looks back and runs. Devil will try his best to distract you from the goal but look towards heavenly things and run the race in such a way that you could finish it without being distracted. So never look back.

3. Apply the Blood of Jesus everyday:

1 John 1:7, "...and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." Jesus' blood has power to not only cleanse us from all our sins but have power to protect us from all evil. Israelites were in Egypt and when God sent Moses to bring His people out, Pharaoh did not allow them to go. So God sent ten plagues in the land of Egypt. One of the plagues was that God passed from that land and killed every firstborn of Egypt. But God said to Moses that Israelites should take a blameless lamb and kill it and put the blood at the door posts and lintels of their homes. And when God saw the blood on the door posts and lintels He passed over that house. Death and destruction did not come to that house because of the blood of the lamb.

Jesus the lamb of God came down in this world and shed His precious blood for us so that we could be protected from evil, death and destruction. Apply the blood of Jesus everyday in your life, in your family and in your homes and God will protect you from all evil.

if you want to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior please pray this prayer with me:

Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. Please forgive and forget all my sins. Help me to come out of my sinful nature and to live a holy life. Please come into my life and change me. Today I accept you as my Lord and Savior. Help me to live for you and to live according to your will. I know that you are forgiving me and making me your child. You are forgiving all my sin so I praise you. I give you all the glory. In Jesus name I pray, amen.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
