Now a days we hear about Harry Potter books and movies. These books and movies are specially designed for children. And even many Christian homes have welcomed these books and movies in their homes. Why is it important that you examine everything you bring in your home or what you read or watch? There are certain things that bring demons with it in your homes or in your lives. These books and movies are nothing but what is inspired by occult and witchcraft that shows wizard power in it. I heard many people who had nightmares, sicknesses or problems in their homes. They did everything but it seemed that there was no solution for their problems until they removed Pokemon cards or Harry Potter stuff from their homes. Devil is real and his power is real. Witchcraft powers are real. And if you go after these things, it will take away your peace and one day it will destroy your life. Bible calls all these things as abomination. And Bible also tells us that because the people of Canaan practiced these types of things God drove them away as we read in Deu 18:10-12, "There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD, and because of these abominations the LORD your God drives them out from before you."Few days back I heard the true story of a young man who was raised in a Baptist Church. He asked his pastors why miracles do not happen now a days just as it happened in the Bible days? They told him that it was only till the time of the Apostles but now apostle days are over and so these things do not happen now. The reply did not satisfy that young man. He was looking for power so he searched in every possible place. One day devil came to him in the form of a man and said, "if you sell your soul to me, I will give you power to do different types of tricks." That young man gladly sold his soul and became a slave of devil. Devil gave him power to show different types of tricks and unusual things that are not possible with human power. And that young man became a high priest in Satanist Church. For few months he enjoyed all those things but after that he had nightmares and frightening things started happening. He started seeing demons and bad things started happening to him. Frustrated and disappointed he went to a Church where he got saved and demons were driven out of his life by the power of the Holy Spirit. Today he is serving Jesus with the mighty power of the Holy Spirit. Witchcraft, wizardry and all the related stuff are from devil and those who practice it, they practice abomination. If you are involved in any of such activity, get out of it and repent from your sins. Many think that they are not practicing it but they are only reading those books or watching movies and that it will not affect them. But the Bible says that when Achen took the accursed things and kept it in his tent, God not only considered it as a sin of Achen but also sin of whole Israel.(Josh 7:11) And because of it they were defeated and they lost many lives. Do you have any abominable things in your home, throw it away or burn it down before it may destroy your life and bring God's punishment upon you. Repent from your sins and turn to God and blessings and goodness will flow in your life.
When I was about ten or eleven years old one day my Mummy gave me a shopping bag and money in my hand and told me to go to shop and purchase one dozen eggs. The shop selling eggs was half a mile away from our home. I held my younger brother's hand and we both walked to the shop. After purchasing eggs we were returning home and as usual we were kicking stones with our shoes. It was our habit that whenever we returned from school or shop, we would kick small stones with our shoes to see whose stone goes further away. My brother and I both were so much indulged in kicking stones that we forgot that we were carrying eggs in our bag. After few moments when I kicked a stone, I stumbled and fell down. When I stood up my brother and I both looked inside the bag in horror and found that almost all the eggs were crushed. We both started crying because we knew that if we go with these eggs, mummy would beat us or scold us badly. So we went back to the shop and said to the shop owner, "You gave us bad cracked eggs, please replace it." But he looked at my knees and saw the blood coming out and said, you have fallen somewhere and broken these eggs. He was looking sympathetic at us but he did not replace the eggs. So we returned home with those crushed eggs crying all the way to home and praying for divine help of God. When we reached home, mummy saw us crying so she asked what happened? And when she saw the blood on my knees, she forgot everything and started putting medicine and bandage. She said, "don't worry about eggs." And in my heart, I was praising God for saving us that day.All these things seemed as if God had answered our prayers that we prayed all the way to home. Though we were not saved at that time still He answered our prayer and helped us in the time of trouble. Because it was the sincere prayer prayed from the bottom of our hearts. Psalms 50:15, "Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me."Are you going through problems, tears, sicknesses and hopeless situations today? Jesus can help you. He is a prayer answering God. He says in Job 38:41, "Who provides food for the raven, When its young ones cry to God, And wander about for lack of food?" Yes, there is a God who cares for you. If He could hear the cry of unsaved persons like us in those days, then how much more will He care and hear the cry of us, saved children of God? If you are saved, if you have invited Jesus as your Lord and Savior in your life, you are His child. His eyes are upon you all the time and His ears attentive to your prayers as we read in Psa 34:15, "The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry."
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
