We hear the news of Terri Schiavo a woman who is brain damaged from the last thirteen years. Her husband brought court order to remove her feeding tube off of her so that she could die within two weeks. But Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and state lawmakers ordered to attach the feeding tubes again so that she could live. This decision outraged her husband. Isn't it strange that courts ruled to kill a living person? And thinking that it is not murder. Can anybody kill others just because a person feels that the other person's life is not important?Many a times I wonder how people legalize sin and think that they are doing the right thing. Just because some Lawyers/Judges passed the law to kill her, does not make murder legal in the sight of God. But today we are living in an age where all kinds of sin are legal such as abortion, gay marriages, gay Bishop in Episcopal Church and now mercy killing. Even our Churches are not untouched by these types of crimes. I will not be surprised if our legal system may one day make prostitution and murder also legal. How many doctors and nurses know that abortion is a crime or sin and that it comes under the category of murder according to the law of God. Exodus 21:22-23 says, "If men fight, and hurt a woman with child, so that she gives birth prematurely, yet no harm follows, he shall surely be punished accordingly as the woman's husband imposes on him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. But if any harm follows, then you shall give life for life."The above verses clearly say that a child has life even in the womb. And if any harm follows meaning that if the child dies, then the person should pay life for life. If our judicial law says that abortion is not a crime and is not murder, it does not erase the Law of God. The same thing is with gay and lesbians who justify their crime by saying that they are born like that only. Such acts are abomination before God. One day God will judge not by the law of state or of any nation, but by His own Law. One day He will ask you, why did you kill those innocent lives? Why did you commit these types of crime? Do you have a reply to give Him? You cannot justify yourself making lame excuses. Many a times people say, "we are born in sin and remain sinners till our life ends." These excuses will not work before God. What are the reasons of remaining in sin? Jesus explained in John 3:19-20, "And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed." But there is a way out to get rid of your sins and live a holy life through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who gave His life for us. He took all our sins on Himself so that we could come out of our sins and live a holy life. Noah lived a righteous life though he lived among the wildest people of his time. They committed all kinds of sin, crime and violence. And God got very angry. Bible says in Gen 6:5-7, "Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. So the LORD said, "I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them." When others were living in sin, Noah lived a holy life. He pleased God and walked in the ways of God. And God saved him and his whole family because of his righteous life. Yes, this world is wicked and it is not easy to live a righteous and holy life. But there is a way to live a holy life. You can live a holy life in the midst of wicked people who live in sin. Jesus came to give that holy life. Are you living in sin today? Are you committing those crimes without your knowledge or knowingly? Repent from your sins and come to Christ. He will forgive and forget all your sins and wash you with His precious blood. He will make you His own child. He will give you a new life.
1 Cor 12:7-11, "But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills."In 1Cor chapter 12 we find about the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit. Bible clearly speaks about filling of the Holy Spirit and about His gifts. Because these are the gifts of the Holy Spirit, one cannot receive these gifts without the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Ok if you are an anointed person, you can receive the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit. Today many think that visions and dreams are not real. Bible speaks about visions and dreams very loudly. Many do not see visions and dreams the reason is that they are not anointed. If you are not anointed, how can you see visions and dreams, which are revelations of Holy Spirit through His gifts. When these gifts start working it brings dreams and visions. Acts 2:17 'And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.' One of the nine gifts is "Gift of Wisdom". This is not earthly wisdom, but it speaks about divine wisdom. Through earthly wisdom you get very good marks in exams, or you achieve highly positioned jobs or you can climb the ladder of highest education, which does not mean that you have this gift. Through this gift you can see what is going on in the spirit world, what the enemy is planning against you in the spirit world, and on the other side what God is planning for you in the spirit world and how He is going to protect you. All these things you can understand. We read in Bible about Elisha that he was a spirit filled man. He received the double portion of the anointing, which was on Elijha. 2 Ki 2:9, "And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, "Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?" Elisha said, "Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me." And we read that Elisha was successful in receiving double portion of the anointing. Further we find that many mighty miracles took place through his ministry. Even dead people were raised. Why? Reason is that gifts of the Holy Spirit was working in his ministry. Bible describes how Elisha the prophet of the living God could know the things spoken in secret. The king of Syria faces defeat after defeat and he thinks that somebody in his army is spying against him and transferring information to the enemy's camp. But his solders say to him, "Nobody is a spy among us, but it is because of Elisha we are facing defeat." He further says to the king that whatever he even speaks in his bedroom, Elisha knows it." 2 Ki 6:12, "And one of his servants said, "None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom." What a strange thing isn't it? Yes our God is a great God. He knows everything. Even before the enemy plots something against His children, He knows it. God tells those plots and things to His prophets and if you are an anointed person you could know what is happening in the spirit realm. Bible describes about yet another incidence through which we can see how the "Gift of wisdom" was operating in his life. The Syrian king sends his army to kill Elisha. A mighty army surrounds the city where Elisha was. When Elisha's servants see this they said, "What shall we do? Are we going to die? Who can save us from this big army?" Bible says, "Elisha sees a vision with the help of "Gift of Wisdom". He sees God's firey army and chariots in spirit realm, which was sent by God to protect him. 2 Ki 6:15-17, "And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, "Alas, my master! What shall we do?" So he answered, "Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them." And Elisha prayed, and said, "LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see." Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.Bible says, how the enemy had planned to kill Elisha, but because he was a spirit filled man having the "Gift of wisdom", he could see how God was going to protect him. God sent His fiery angels and chariots to save Elisha. Yes if you are a spirit filled person and if you have the gift of wisdom, you can see in the spirit world what is happening against you. Let me share one of my own experiences with you. A month and a half back I suddenly started seeing a 'Cherub' in my vision. Every time when I closed my eyes for prayer this cherub appeared before me in my vision. So I was a little surprised because I never saw such an Angel before in my 20 years of spirit filled life. He was standing with both his wings raising towards heaven and his both hands were under those wings. One day I asked God, "what is it, what am I seeing." Lord said, "it is a Cherub, I've sent him for your protection. Wherever you will go he will go with you and protect you." When I searched for Cherubs in Bible I found this description, which exactly matched in appearance with this cherub. Exo 37:9, "The cherubim spread out their wings above,...". Ezek 10:8 The cherubim appeared to have the form of a man's hand under their wings.Well it surprised me, why we need Cherub at this time and why he is always going with us. There were no visible threats or any such things for us. So I did not pay much attention on those things. He continuously appeared for 2 weeks time during my prayers. On 13th sep of last month I had to share my testimony in one cottage prayer meeting. Before my turn came I was praying, "Lord please help me to share the things which you spoke." Suddenly I saw the same cherub in my vision in that home and I could know that he is going everywhere with us. After this for almost two weeks I did not see this cherub. So I was little worried thinking what happened to the cherub, did I do something wrong? It was one Saturday as usual I prayed to the Lord, "Lord do I go for shopping today or not?" Lord said, "no you need not to go today but go on Monday." I thought to double-check it if I heard correct. So again I prayed and got the same answer and at that time the cherub again showed up. I was so happy that after two weeks cherub has returned. Well I had no idea that the very next day death threat was coming. Next day was Sunday. In the morning we had family prayer and it was my turn to pray. During prayer, God showed me the first vision and gave interpretation of it. Then He showed me the second vision. I saw in my vision two hands together (hollow of the hands) holding a lighted candle in the middle. And God gave this interpretation, "I have kept you as a candle in my own hands. This candle was till burning for my glory. And I've declared before my Angels that this candle is going to burn till the end." And He spoke many other things too. Well the prophecy was a little unusual and it was for my family. So I thought in my heart, "we do not have any plans to back off or quit the ministry then why God would say such things." After some time we got ready and went to Church. I felt very relaxed as never before. We had no idea whatsoever that death angel was sitting in the church. After the church service we had general body meeting. Suddenly 2-3 people started shouting in a loud voice. They started yelling at my brother and started talking all kinds of rubbish things. One man said, I will kill you and hang you, and he tried to reach to my brother 2-3 times. He looked very angry shouting in the top of his voice. Some people blocked him from reaching my brother and meanwhile somebody called 911 and police came. Meanwhile a big scuffle/fighting took place between them and some people. My family and I sat there calmly and watched the things, which unfolded, before our eyes. We knew that God in whom we trust is able to save us. Well after police left, every thing looked calm but this man again looked towards my brother and said, "I will see you later outside." Well when you do things for God and try to lead an un-compromised and holy life these things could happen to you. At the time of last prayer I prayed to God, "I reminded Him the promises He has given to us." I said, "God you said, 'if anybody touches you he touches My eyeball only, so nobody can touch us." You said, "I will stand as a mighty wall around you and nobody can penetrate Me and reach you." When I claimed those promises suddenly I saw the same Cherub. I knew and I knew then that; cherub is with us for our safety and nobody is going to do any harm to us. We escaped unhurt from the Church. God sent His Cherub and saved us. What a great God we serve. Bible says that one angle has a capacity to kill more than one hundred and eighty five thousand people. 2 Ki 19:35, "And it came to pass on a certain night that the angel of the LORD went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses; all dead." I do not know how many people, cherubs can kill but only thing I know is that cherubs are more powerful than an ordinary Angel. When we returned home I was so thankful to God I prayed, "Yes Lord this candle is going to burn till the end. We'll serve you till the last breath, we are not going to run away leaving ministry in half way." Yes death threats could come, even death can come but if you are a true minister of Gospel you will not run away but finish your work. I request you all to please keep my family in your prayers.Anointing is so precious it does two things.1. It releases Angels for your protection as we saw in Elisha's case God sent fiery angles. 2. It releases God's wrath upon enemies. Elisha prayed to God to blind his enemies and God did it. 2 Ki 6:18, "So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the LORD, and said, "Strike this people, I pray, with blindness." And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha." Yes there are many such incidences in Bible when people arose against God's anointed people and were perished. Standing against God's anointed could bring disaster. Yes gift of wisdom is so precious. You can have encounter with Angels of God. You can know the plans of enemy and escape from it like Elisha did. Elisha saw the vision and he was comforted. You can know the safety plans of God for you through visions and dreams. Don't you want such a precious gift? Ask for it and God will anoint you and give you this gift. If you are an anointed person be cheerful. The anointing releases Angels for battle. The more you get anointed the more Angels will come for your protection.
Psalmist says in Psalms 139:7, "Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?" This verse tells us about the quality of omnipresence of God. This verse equates Holy Spirit with the presence of God. In the Bible we read about the presence of God in many places. When Moses went to Mount Sinai to take the Law of God, God came down and His presence was filled there. God said to Moses in Exo 33:14 , "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." When Solomon dedicated the magnificent temple of God that he made for God where priests and other people were praising God, the house of the LORD was filled with a cloud. And next verse says in 2 Chr 5:14, "so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God."Time and time again God showed His people that He was with them. Let us look what happens when God or His presence is with us. His Presence will give us rest:Moses was given a great responsibility to take millions of Israelites from Egypt and to bring them to the land which God promised them. When he saw that the task was very heavy, he asked for the divine help of God. And God said to him in Exo 33:14, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." In other words, God said that He Himself will walk before Moses and give him rest. Then Moses said to Him in Exo 33:15, "If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here."And we read that in their whole journey, God went before them and took care of them. When they were thirsty, God gave them to drink. When they were hungry, God gave them bread and meet. They walked in the wilderness for forty long years, but they did not lack anything. God himself met their every need. And Bible also says in Num 10:33-34 says, "So they departed from the mountain of the LORD on a journey of three days; and the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them for the three days' journey, to search out a resting place for them. And the cloud of the LORD was above them by day when they went out from the camp."This is what happens if God's presence is with you. He will walk before you and give you rest. He will go before you and search a resting place for you. He will make ways where there is no way. He will solve your problems and give you rest. Whatever problems come in your way, He will face it first. Yes, He will give you rest if His presence is with you.His presence will give you deliverance:Bible says in Deu 4:37 "And because He loved your fathers, therefore He chose their descendants after them; and He brought you out of Egypt with His Presence, with His mighty power."Israelites were in the bondage of Egypt. They were slaves in that land. They worked very hard to survive and to raise their children in that foreign land. It was not easy to come out of that land. But God sent Moses to deliver them and bring them out of Egypt. It was not easy for Moses either. So God Himself intervened and showed His might and wonder and delivered them. Today you may be living in sin and addictions. You might have tried all possible ways to get rid of your sins, but you might have failed miserably. But let me tell you about a mighty deliverer who can save you and deliver you from your addictions and sins. He can cut those bondages off of your life. His name is Jesus. His Presence will give you victory:Bible says in Psa 9:3, "When my enemies turn back, They shall fall and perish at Your presence." And also in Isa 19:1, "The burden against Egypt. Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud, And will come into Egypt; The idols of Egypt will totter at His presence, And the heart of Egypt will melt in its midst."God's presence will give you victory over your enemies. Moses and the Israelites came out of Egypt, but it was not the end of their problem. They looked back and saw that the Egyptian army was following them. The moment they saw the pursuing Egyptian army, they might have thought that everything was over. There was no one in this planet earth who could save them from this mighty army. They were frightened and they started crying. They said to Moses, "Was there no grave in Egypt that you brought us here to die?" Oh, death was before their eyes and they lost all their confidence. But God who gives victory over our enemies, gave victory to them. He not only parted the red sea in two but made the whole Egyptian army to be drowned in the red sea. Today problems may be standing before you like a mighty army but if you look to Jesus, He can give you victory over your enemies and can deliver you from all your problems.His Presence will protect you from all evil:Psalmist says in Psa 31:20, "You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence From the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion From the strife of tongues."If you are staying in the presence of God, you need not to fear what your enemies are plotting against you because God will protect you from all evil. He will not allow you to be a victim of their plot. In 2Kings 6:8 and onwards we read that the king of Syria was making war against Israel and he consulted with his servants, saying, "My camp will be in such and such a place." But Elisha sent to the king of Israel, saying, "Beware that you do not pass this place, for the Syrians are coming down there." Many a times king of Syria tried to do this, but his plans failed so that the heart of the king of Syria was greatly troubled. So he called his servants and said to them, "Will you not show me which of us is for the king of Israel?" And one of his servants said, "None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom." Are you afraid of your enemies' plots? Are you afraid of evil people and evil things? If God is with you, He will protect you from all evil and make you triumphant over your enemies.His Presence will fill you with Joy:Bible says in Psa 16:11, "You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore." And also in Psa 21:6, "For You have made him most blessed forever; You have made him exceedingly glad with Your presence."God's presence brings joy and happiness in our lives. David went through terrible trials in his life but he knew how to run in the arms of God and find peace and joy in His presence. In the midst of problems and while among enemies, he strengthened himself in the presence of God. That's why he says, "there is joy in the presence of God."His Presence will give you prosperity: When few people asked a priest in Judges 18:5, "Please inquire of God, that we may know whether the journey on which we go will be prosperous." And the priest said to them, "Go in peace. The presence of the LORD be with you on your way."If God's presence is with you, you will see prosperity and blessings in your life. Hezekiah the king of Judah walked with God and did everything what was right in the sight of God. And Bible says that God made him very much prosperous because God was with him. We read in 2 Chr 32:27-29, "Hezekiah had very great riches and honor. And he made himself treasuries for silver, for gold, for precious stones, for spices, for shields, and for all kinds of desirable items; storehouses for the harvest of grain, wine, and oil; and stalls for all kinds of livestock, and folds for flocks. Moreover he provided cities for himself, and possessions of flocks and herds in abundance; for God had given him very much property."When Moses was dead and Joshua became leader of Israel, God told him in Joshua 1:5-9 that if he obeyed God in everything and meditated in the Law of God day and night and will not turn from the word of God, then prosperity will come in his life. And we read further that God was with Joshua and the Israelites. Wherever they went, God gave them victory and they became prosperous and blessed. If you want to be prosperous in your life, you need God in your life. God's presence makes a person prosperous and blessed. His presence brings honor and exaltation in one's life. If you have not yet experienced His presence in your life, just pray this simple prayer. Lord Jesus, please forgive and forget all my sins. Wash me with your precious blood. Come into my life and in my home. Dwell with me and among us. Fill me with your presence. Thank you for hearing my prayer. I give you all the glory and honor. I pray in Jesus name, amen.
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
