I remember when we were young, when we go to bed my mom would remain awake and look at all the bags and put the necessary textbooks, notebooks, pencil, eraser and other things necessary for the next day at school. She would keep all the dress washed, pressed and ready for the next day. If things are not there she would bring and put it so that we need not to suffer in school because of lack of those things. Every Sunday prior to our departure for Sunday School, money for offering would have been kept on the table, a reminder that we have to take the money with us for Sunday School. Over the years these things did not change a bit. If anybody has to go out, things will be ready before hand. I always wondered how accurately she puts every necessary things. Those small-small things which we take it for granted but how important these things are. I only realized it when I went for a training, away from home. Many a times I forget important things which are necessary and because of that I had to face embarrassment. Likewise God also cares for every small thing His children need in their lives. Without our knowledge He puts all things in line which we need. He works behind the scenes to put together small-small things so that we may not face embarrassment in front of others. Bible says that He knows our needs before we ask Him as we read in Mat 6:8, "Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him."Bible talks about the loving and caring nature of God. He is a God who cares for you more than your father or mother. A mother can forget her nursing child but He cannot. Parents can forget their child but God will not. His love and care is far superior than any human love.Bible says in 1 Peter 5:7, "casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." Why do you need to worry and lose your health when God knows your need? Once I heard a message that, "God will come in right time. He will not come late saying, there was so much traffic or He will not come early but will come at the right time."Today, you may be going through some tuff times in your life and may be thinking that God is no where in the scene. But cast your cares upon Him and forget about your problems. Let Him take care of your problems. And when He will take care of your problem, He will not allow you to see defeat. He will not allow you to be embarrassed before others.
Exceedingly Magnificent Temple
1 Chr 22:5, Now David said, "Solomon my son is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the LORD must be exceedingly magnificent, famous and glorious throughout all countries. I will now make preparation for it." So David made abundant preparations before his death."David wanted to build a temple for God but God told him that he will not build the house of God but his Son. As a father, he took so much pain and worked very hard so that all the initial preparations could be made for the building of the house of the LORD. We read in 1 Chr 22:14-16 "Indeed I have taken much trouble to prepare for the house of the LORD one hundred thousand talents of gold and one million talents of silver, and bronze and iron beyond measure, for it is so abundant. I have prepared timber and stone also, and you may add to them. Moreover there are workmen with you in abundance: woodsmen and stonecutters, and all types of skillful men for every kind of work. Of gold and silver and bronze and iron there is no limit. Arise and begin working, and the LORD be with you." He also charged all the leaders of Israel that they should help Solomon in this task. Why did he take this much care? The reason is very simple, he wanted to put his best in the work of God. He says, "the temple must be exceedingly magnificent famous and glorious throughout all countries."God also wants to transform us into magnificent and glorious temples of God for His glory. That was the reason why, Jesus came down in this world, suffered and died on the cruel cross for our redemption. He went through all these sufferings things to take away the ugliness of our lives and to make us magnificent before the whole world. God gave His best - His only Son to die for us so that we could become living temples of God. Bible says in 2 Cor 6:16, "And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people."Yes, He wants to make you a magnificent temple of God. He wants to come into your life and walk among you. You may be living in sin, drugs, addictions and you may be having mounting problems. But if you come to Jesus and give your life to Him, He will take your broken life and change it to a magnificent house of God. He will take your life and use you for His glory.Plans from God:As David's time was approaching to leave this world, he was more and more concerned about Solomon and the temple of God which he was about to build. But we read in 1 Chr. 28 verses 11-12th that God gave the plans of the building to David. 1 Chr 28:11-12, "Then David gave his son Solomon the plans for the vestibule, its houses, its treasuries, its upper chambers, its inner chambers, and the place of the mercy seat; and the plans for all that he had by the Spirit, of the courts of the house of the LORD, of all the chambers all around, of the treasuries of the house of God, and of the treasuries for the dedicated things.."And further we read in 1 Chr 28:19, "All this," said David, "the LORD made me understand in writing, by His hand upon me, all the works of these plans."We see the concern of David as well the concern of God in building the house of God. God gave the whole plan to David. And Bible records even the minute details of the temple built by Solomon. Whenever I read those chapters, I wondered and thought, "why an ordinary person need to know all these details? It may be useful for an architect or a civil engineer but most of those who read the Bible everyday, they may be most ordinary people. When I realized the extend of the concern God had for His temple which was made by hands then I understood how much more concern He would have for the temple which is not made of hand. He has a plan for each and every person. We cannot know His plan without the guidance of the Spirit of God. God revealed His plan to David through His Spirit. Today also He is interested to reveal His plan for us. But most of the people think that God does not speak now a days and so they just do not ask God. But when Jesus was about to leave this world, He promised to give His Spirit so that He can reveal His plan to us. John 14:26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." And also in John 16:13, "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come."Yes, God is very much interested to give His plan to you for your life. How can you get His plans? 1. You must be saved.2. You must be filled with the Holy Spirit.Unless you are saved, you cannot receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Peter said in Acts 2:38, "Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."Salvation and filling of Holy Spirit are both different experiences as we read in Acts 8:14-17, "Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit." This passage is not the only one which refers to the two difference experiences but there are many other passages which deals on this subject. Once you are filled with the Holy Spirit, God will guide you and show you things which are on your way. It is a marvelous experience and God wants to give this wonderful experience to you. Do you want to become an exceedingly magnificent and glorious temple of God? Do you want to know the plans of God for your life? Come to Him and give your life to Jesus. You will never be the same again.
Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 12th Aug. 2008
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 12th Aug. 2008
