Now only a few weeks are left before the American elections. As a Christian how important it is to vote for the right candidate. Because the president has authority and power to change whole dimension of the county. But before you hand over power and authority to a candidate to assume responsibility as president, power lies in your hands whether to choose or reject a particular candidate and whether to give the power and authority or not to give to that particular candidate.Bible tells us that whenever a person who feared God came in power in Israel the land experienced the blessings of God. But whenever a person who did not walk in the ways of God came in power, they led the Israelites into sin, misery, captivity and bondage. The same thing continues till today. It is very important that a God fearing man should be in power - a man who is walking in the ways of God and stands for Christian values and for moral issues. A few days back I received an email comparing the stand on Christian values by both the candidates, George W. Bush and John F. Kerry. It is very amazing that Kerry does not support Christian values. John Kerry supports partial birth abortion, gay marriage, prayer ban in schools etc. Very often he ridicules President Bush for his faith on God and for talking about God frequently. Already there are many countries where they have laws stating that one cannot preach on certain topics from the Bible saying that they it come under "hate speech". Already many of our Churches are dominated by murderers, rapists and evil people. How can we give our rights in the hands of those who oppose moral values?Judas Iscariot sold Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. Today also many who call themselves to be "Christians" are ready to sell their rights, moral and Christian values just for their personal gain and in the name of economy. But by rejecting God we cannot have a better future, we cannot have a secure future of our own and of our country. Choice is yours. You can choose good or bad. Bible says in Prov 29:2, "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan." If we really want to rejoice, if we really want to see the blessings of God, we should choose a person who is walking in the ways of God and who cares for Christian and moral values. Give authority and power to a person who cares for spiritual things more than material things.
US Election is fast approaching and we are just 25 days away from USA’s presidential Election 2004. The nation is preparing to elect the next President. You may wonder why this message in a spiritual magazine/newsletter. Is it an important issue? Yes it is!!! As a citizen of a country it is each and every person’s duty to elect the right Leader. Now the question is, how do I know who is the right person? What criteria I need to apply to choose my leader? There are always two kinds of criteria which can be followed to elect a leader.1. Worldly way to choose a Leader2. Godly way to choose a LeaderIf you are a Christian or a churchgoer, you need to know that our template is Bible, the God of Bible Jesus. So our criteria and priority should be Godly and not worldly. In the worldly way people think, “if I choose this person am I going to get benefit in the economical field, could I get a good job, money, can I have a good immigration policy etc.?” For this you could choose a person by the worldly way and there by you may lose your moral values and values of Bible. But for every true Christian what matters are values of Bible and Jesus and not the materialistic world. From the Indian perspective for trying to choose a leader there are two parties out of which one party has to be selected.One group - who opposes Gospel and calls it conversion. They expel missionaries out of the land. Christians were persecuted in their leadership.The other group - who supports missionary activities, under whose rule Christians could lead a peaceful life. So it is clear which group you want to support out of these two groups. I would definitely support the group, which is not against the Gospel of Jesus Christ and who gives full freedom to practice spiritual rites. All right, now the question is, in the USA election what is the right choice for me or for any person who believes in Bible or who attends Church. Let’s begin to examine some of the criteria of both the groups which will give us some vital idea of who stands where according to the Bible because Bible is our sole template to differentiate between right and wrong. 1. Group A (Agenda)a. Do not support Abortion or baby killing.b. Do not support Homosexuality and clearly states, “Marriage should be between man and woman, not between man and man or woman and woman.c. Supports Gospel preaching.d. Do not ban prayer in public schools, permits a high school student to pray and 'thank God'.e. Supports to Keep 'under God' in the Pledge of Allegiance.f. Allows displaying the Ten Commandments in public as they are the basis for the laws of a civilized society.So this party’s agenda is to keep ‘God’ in country and above everything but not to push Him out. Keep moral values high in nation. This party believes in national motto 'In God We Trust'. Hence this party believes in the teachings of Bible. Sounds very good. 2. Group B (Agenda)a. Supports Abortion/baby Killing.b. Supports Homosexual relationship. c. Do not support prayer in public schools. d. Believes that state and religion should be kept separate. It looks that party (Group B) does not give much importance to Gospel. Does not believe that abortion and homosexuality are grave sins. Do not think that God should intervene in state affairs so that God should be kept out of the business. Hence this party does not believe in Biblical teachings. Well Catholic community also believes that abortion is a grave sin. They say that those who supports or practices abortion should be banned from holy Eucharist. Here is the cardinal’s statement.Taken from -------------http://atheism.about.com/b/a/098281.htm-----------[I]t states that pro-abortion Catholic politicians should be warned by priests that they are not eligible for Communion. If the politician then "shows an obstinate persistence in grave sin", writes Cardinal Ratzinger, he or she should be turned away at the altar rail. ..."Regarding the grave sin of abortion or euthanasia," writes the Cardinal, "when a person's formal co-operation becomes manifest (understood, in the case of a Catholic politician, as his consistently campaigning and voting for permissive abortion and euthanasia laws), his pastor should meet with him, informing him that he is not to present himself for Holy Communion until he brings to an end the objective situation of sin, and warning him that he will otherwise be denied the Eucharist." --------------------------end------------------------Ok finally let’s look at our sole template the book called Bible. Our faith, spirituality and moral values, depend on this book. Let’s quickly look where Bible stands on issues of Abortion/baby killing and homosexuality.1. Abortion and Euthanasia (mercy killing) is a grave sin according to the Holy Bible. Exo 21:22 "If men fight, and hurt a woman with child, so that she gives birth prematurely, yet no harm follows, he shall surely be punished accordingly as the woman's husband imposes on him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. Exo 21:23 "But if any harm follows, then you shall give life for life,Life and death is in the hands of God. Human beings should not play against God’s rules. Whether you kill an unborn baby or a human being it is an equal sin and it is called murder or killing. If you do not kill anybody but just supports it then also nation’s law and God’s law calls you as killer/murderer. Recently I was watching TV news. News said, “a man got into a bitter divorce case with his wife. So he hired a professional killer and paid $20,000 to kill his wife. News said that finally the woman was shot to death at a bus station. Finally police caught the killer and found that he was hired by woman’s husband to kill her. Further the news said, “if the husband would be convicted for this killing he would face “death penalty”. Who killed the woman? Not the husband, but the hired man? Who is going to receive the punishment? Both!! Killer as well as the husband who plotted or planned the murder. In the same way even if you did not kill anybody but just plotted or planed or collected information via telephone or any other means to kill somebody you are guilty of murder. The same rules apply here. Even If you do not kill baby but still support the killing agenda you are a killer. Bible speaks clearly that a killer cannot inherit heaven. Exo 20:13 "You shall not murder. 1 John 3:15, ……. and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.Gal 5:21 … envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.2. Homosexuality: This is another grave sin according to the Bible. Lev 18:22 'You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.Gen 19:4 Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house. Gen 19:5 And they called to Lot and said to him, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally."Gen 13:13 But the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful against the LORD. Men of Sodom were homosexuals. That is why they were considered as extremely wicked in the sight of God. Not only that God destroyed Sodom with fire and brimstone because of the sin of homosexuality. Even if you are not homosexual but if you support the agenda you are guilty of homosexuality. 3. Supporting the group, which is against the Gospel and Bible teachings, is also sin. It means you are supporting anti Christian, anti Biblical group. Hence you prove that you do not support God (Jesus) or Bible. By doing it deliberately, you declare that you are pushing God out of your life and family. 4. Supporting anti Biblical things releases demon spirits in your life:When you get angry without genuine cause, you open the avenues for spirit of anger to enter your life and anger leads to murder. You must know that anger, backbiting, telling lies, greed, lust, drinking, witchcraft, killing, sexual immorality and many other things are motivated by demon spirits. Every time you practice any of such things in your life without your knowledge you automatically give access to demons in your life. Thus you open avenues for them to control your life. Let me give an example how it happens. We read the story of Judas Iscariot. He was a disciple of Jesus. He was given the charge of the moneybag. You can say he was a Jesus’ church treasurer. But Bible says that He was a thief. Bible says that he used to steal money out of moneybox which was supposed to be used only for the use of church not for his personal use. He used to steal that money illegally which was legally not his property and hence he was in sin. You can find the spirit of lust and greed of money was working in his life. He was supposed to have killed this greed/sin before it rose to deadly levels, but he failed to do so. Finally what happened, he even did not hesitate to betray Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. The spirit of greed finally controlled him and what was the end. He committed suicide and lost heaven. Can you see how the spirit of greed was slowly working in his life. Why? because he opened avenues for this spirit to dwell in his life. He himself allowed those demons to enter in his life.In the same way when you support abortion/baby killing, homosexuality and other things you are opening avenues for these demons to enter your life and family. Make no mistake about it. Some day it will lead you to destruction. Someday somebody in your family may kill babies or may become gay/lesbian or may oppose the Gospel of Jesus Christ or stand against the work of God and then you’ll think why? Why it should happen to me. The reason is that once you had opened the doors for demon spirits to enter your arena. Because once you’ve given access to these demons and that is why now they are controlling you and your family. So be aware of it. Do not trade your soul for worldly things. Moses describes and reviews the rebellion by the Israelites as seen in Deuteronomy 9th chapter. The whole chapter talks about the murmuring crowd with whom he had to deal for forty long years. There were times when those people rebelled and provoked God to such an extend that God was ready even to kill them but Moses pleaded and pleaded with God for them. He fell on his face and pleaded for forty days and forty nights without taking any food or drinks. Bible says in Deu 9:25, "Thus I prostrated myself before the LORD; forty days and forty nights I kept prostrating myself, because the LORD had said He would destroy you." God was determined to kill that wicked crowd but because of Moses' plea God changed His mind and did not destroy them. That was the heart of Moses, that was the heart of a prophet. Though Moses took this much pain himself and shed bitter tears for those people still they did not learn to obey God and they continued murmuring all the way. But how terrible it is to rebel against God and how terrible it is to speak against the prophets of God or "true" servants of God. We can see from the Book of Numbers how Korah, Dathan and Abiram along with two hundred fifty leaders of the congregation gathered together against Moses and Aaron and said to them (Num 16:3), "You take too much upon yourselves, for all the congregation is holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them. Why then do you exalt yourselves above the assembly of the LORD?" When God heard them He got angry and we read in Num 16:20-21, "And the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying, separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment." But even in that moment of rebellion Moses and Aaron fell on their faces and pleaded with God as we read in Num 16:22, "Then they fell on their faces, and said, "O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and You be angry with all the congregation?" Then God said to Moses in Num 16:24, "Speak to the congregation, saying, 'Get away from the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.'" Bible further tells us in Num 16:32-33, "and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, with their households and all the men with Korah, with all their goods. So they and all those with them went down alive into the pit; the earth closed over them, and they perished from among the assembly."These people rebelled and thought that they were the smartest people on the face of earth. But they died like fools, earth opened up and swallowed them up along with their goods. A prophet can forget what you do or speak against him/her but God will not. God will repay because you are not speaking against a prophet but against the Holy Spirit which resides in him/her. Yes, my friend, it is not a small thing to speak against a prophet or true servants of God. There is certainly consequences for it. But if you repent and turn to God, He will forgive and forget all your sins. Have you spoken anything about a prophet or a servant of God badly? Repent today and bring your sins to the Calvary's cross. He will wash you with His precious blood and give you a new life.
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
