31st October is Halloween day - a day when people believe that all the dead souls, evil spirits and witches etc. would be on loose and it can harm people. So they try to decorate their houses in such a way that evil spirits may get scared and could not come in their houses.Just in front of my house there is an apartment. One morning when I looked outside of my window, I saw a yellow caution tape around the boundary wall of that apartment. It made us all curious to know what was going on in that house? When we came out and looked from our gate, it amazed us all. The yellow tape has printed letters, "This house is haunted..."A few days back we went for shopping. As we were walking, we saw huge Halloween decoration in front of a house. There were many tombstones, sculls, spider webs and other horrible looking things in the front yard and there was a note written on it, "Enter at your own risk." At the second floor window of the same house there was an effigy of a horrible looking man hanging from a rope as if he committed suicide. After seeing this my sister said, "how people have this type of mind setting to keep those horrible looking things in their houses?"Bible tells us that Ezekiel saw a vision in which he saw that there was an image of jealousy at the door of the north gate and Bible tells us that the image of jealousy provoked to jealousy. We read in Ezek 8:3, "He stretched out the form of a hand, and took me by a lock of my hair; and the Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven, and brought me in visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the north gate of the inner court, where the seat of the image of jealousy was, which provokes to jealousy." In this verse we can see that they just put an image of jealousy and it provoked to jealousy.Many a times when horrible and miserable things start happening in their homes and their lives, people could not understand what could be the cause of their miserable life or those horrible overtaking? Many do not understand that simple images can cause havoc in their lives. If you have any kind of symbols or images that are related to occult or witchcraft, for example sculls, tombstones or any related things that could be the reason for those horrible things and your miserable life. Putting those symbols in your home will not scare the devil or evil spirit but instead it will amount to an invitation for them to freely come in your yards and in your homes. There are people who will give you things after having done witchcraft, in order to bring nightmares and evil presence in your home. Search your homes and throw away those things out of your house. Clean your house and life and invite Jesus in your home so that your house may be filled with the holy and awesome presence of God. Where God is, there is peace. Where God is, there is joy and happiness. You can have a wonderful life leaving those symbols and images behind. You can live a life without fear and full of peace inviting Jesus in your life and in your home. When Jesus will come into your life He will change everything.
Bible warns us that in the last days many false prophets will rise up and deceive many as we read in Mat 7:15, "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves." And in Mat 24:11-13, "Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved."Even today there are many who are deceiving people in the name of Christ. It really amazes me that many good Christians are trapped in the lies of those people who deceive them. Now the greatest question is how a person can know whether the prophet is true or false. How can a person save himself/herself from the trap of those deceiving people? 1. A person who claims himself to be a prophet must have salvation experience:If a person is claiming that he is a prophet of the God of the Bible, the very first qualification of that person should be that he/she must be saved. If the person is not saved there is no way that God of Bible will use him/her as a prophet. Bible is very clear about its position on prophets. Apostle Paul makes it clear that spiritual gifts are for those who are saved from their sins and not for those who are gentiles. We read in 1 Corinthians 12:1-3, "Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant: You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit."Paul was addressing to a group of people who were once gentiles but who had accepted Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior and who were filled with the Holy Spirit and who were ready to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit. If we read further, Paul explains the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit out of which one of the gifts is Prophecy.A few days back I started receiving newsletters from a person who called himself to be a prophet. The person's teachings did not match with the Biblical teachings. When I inquired about his relationship with Jesus and his salvation experience, he got so angry, he started threatening me. His reply to me was, " You need not find about my salvation and filling of the Holy Spirit experiences. It is not for you to decide whether I am a prophet or not."If a person is saved then he/she will testify the great salvation experience of he had and declare the marvelous deliverance of God in his life instead of threatening others. But if a person is not saved and yet if he claims that he is a prophet, beware of him. Get out of his company before it may too late.2. Prophecy comes from Holy Spirit:Bible is very clear that prophecy does not come by the will of man but from the Holy Spirit. We read in 2 Pet 1:21, "for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit."Prophecy does not come by the will of man. Holy Spirit gives prophecy to a person but if a person is speaking the things which is from his mind, it is not prophecy. In the time of Jeremiah and Ezekiel there were many who called themselves to be prophets but they were prophesying and speaking words which God did not ask them to speak. We read in Jer 14:14, "And the LORD said to me, "The prophets prophesy lies in My name. I have not sent them, commanded them, nor spoken to them; they prophesy to you a false vision, divination, a worthless thing, and the deceit of their heart." How can we know whether the prophecy is from God or not? We can easily know it by comparing with the Bible. If anyone prophesy and the prophecy is not lining up with the Bible teachings, it would be a false prophecy because God cannot contradict Himself. There was a prophet whom God used mightily. Many mighty miracles took place through his ministry but many years later he was backslidden from the ways of God. Once he prophesied and said, "Jesus is coming on such and such date of such and such year. Many believed him and many sold their properties, many left their jobs and went to stay with that prophet. The day came when Jesus was supposed to come back according to his prophecy but as they expected, it did not happen. It really confused many. But for those who know the Bible, there is no confusion in it because Bible very clearly says that, "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.( Mat 25:13)" If you are listing to a prophet whose teachings are not lining up with the Bible teachings, beware of that person.3. Interpretations of prophesy does not come by mind:Just as prophecy does not come by the will of man but from the Holy Spirit, interpretation of prophesy also does not come by the will of man but by the Holy Spirit. There are many who are interpreting the dreams and visions by their mind. People who interpret the prophesy from their minds cannot tell you the right meaning of visions or dreams. Once I saw a website where I saw some very strange types of interpretations. A man saw swarm of worms in his vision and he interpreted it like this, '"Worms" are symbolical of "corruption" and "popularity" that erode into the vitals of any organization or establishment.' The same website further interprets a vision saying that, "A servant of God should not become "popular" like a politician, i.e. a senator or a member of parliament." You can easily understand that these interpretations are not from God because these interpretations have no biblical basis. Bible is witness of many mighty kings and politicians who changed the history of nations. Some of them are like Joseph who became next to Pharaoh and governed the nation of Egypt with the wisdom of God. God chose David to be a king of Israel about whom Samuel says, "...The LORD has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the LORD has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you (Saul) have not kept what the LORD commanded you.(1 Sam 13:14)" Daniel was in high position in Babylon as we read in Dan 2:48, "Then the king promoted Daniel and gave him many great gifts; and he made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief administrator over all the wise men of Babylon." God put Esther in the position of queen so that whole tribe of Jews and lives of Jews may be saved from destruction. My dear friend, we are living in the last days and we must be very careful before we believe in any person who calls himself a prophet or interpreter of dreams and visions. With apostle John I will say, "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1 )"
I read the entire story of Gulshan Fatima and was excited how God has turned this young lady being a Muslin and from a Muslim background to become a Christian when she personally had an encounter with the Lord Jesus. As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
