By Sherly Isaac

A few days back I was watching news on TV. I heard about the heartbreaking story of a couple who were separated from their four months old son when the devastating Tsunami hit in Sri Lanka. The baby was swept away from the arms of his mother and later found in a pile of garbage alive and well. He was admitted in hospital and nicknamed as baby 81. The parents found him in a hospital, but the hospital authorities refused to handover their child as nine other couples also claimed the baby as their son. When the parents of the child knew, they were devastated, they were heart broken. They wept bitterly. Court ordered for a DNA test to verify the identity of the parents. According to the Voice of America News, "During the dramatic seven-week wait for their child, the Jeyarajahs pleaded, wept, threatened suicide and protested to get their child. The couple was even briefly arrested after they stormed into the hospital to take their baby back earlier this month."

Finally the DNA test came positive and one family's traumatizing agony was over. They got their child back. This happened to be a happy ending of that tragic story but many are not so fortunate as this couple.

Separation is always painful and heart breaking. Separation is tragic and traumatizing. When Adam and Eve sinned against God, they got separated from God. They lost the love and tender care of their loving father who created them, who loved them so greatly. Devil stole the children of God and threw them in rubble. The precious possession of God, His beloved children were now in great trouble. When God looked at their pathetic condition, He shed bitter tears. God wanted them back at any cost. He could not bear the pain of separation because of His great love for us. So He came down in the form of a man to save us from our sins and to take back what the devil had stolen in the Garden of Eden. He gave His precious life for us so that we could be His Children again.

Bible says in John 1:12-13, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

My dear friend, your life's tragic story could have an happy ending if you just say yes to the free gift of God. How much anxiously He wants to take you back in His arms. He wants to wipe away your tears and give you all the blessings which He gave to Adam and Eve. Will you consider to return to Him? Will you accept Him as your father? Today you have the option to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and walk in the will of God. Choice is yours!

Covenant Relationship

By Sherly Isaac

In our marriages bride and groom walk down in the aisles and exchange vows before the alter of God. Hence they come to a covenant relationship with each other. They sign the contract that they would be husband and wife for life time and no matter what comes on their way, they will not separate from each other.

Bible tells us that God of the Bible is interested to have a covenant relationship with us. Bible tells us that after Adam and Eve sinned and fell short of the glory of God and when their generations grew in number their iniquities also grew. But God of the Bible made a covenant with Abraham and promised that he and his seed will see great blessings because of the faithfulness of Abraham towards God. Further Bible tells us about Israel's unfaithfulness toward God and His covenant. They sinned against God by worshipping others gods and broke the covenant of God with them. The more they showed unfaithfulness towards God, the more problems and misery they faced in their lives. But those who walked in the ways of God, those who showed respect for the covenant of God, were blessed.

Today also God is interested to have a covenant relationship with every human being. When a person goes to the alter of God and gives his/her life to Jesus since that day he/she comes under a covenant relationship with God. If you have given your life to Jesus, if you have vowed before Him that you are His and your life is His, you cannot turn back. You cannot live as you want but you have to walk in His holy ways and fulfill His will. No matter what may come, no matter how much persecution you have to go through, no matter how much tears, sickness, sorrow due to tragedy or death of a loved one you may have to pass through, you will love the Lord. Of course there may be times when you will feel as if to give up your relationship with Christ, there may be times when you will feel God is not listening, God is not in the scene anywhere. But if you walk in the ways of God, He will take care of other things which is bothering you. He will not allow you to die in half way. He will not allow you to be ashamed before others.

I remember at the age of sixteen when I gave my life to Jesus, I prayed, "Lord, no matter whether I get anything in my life or not, whether I reach anywhere in my life or not, I will follow you. Please help me to walk in your ways." And I can say that, all these years God has blessed me beyond my capacity, protected me and my family from terrible things and has been our guide and helper. There were times when I thought, how long we have to go through such and such problems? How long? There were times, when I screamed in my heart and asked, God, God where are you? There were times when we as a family shed bitter tears. There were times when death knocked at our door and our future was uncertain. We did not know whether we would live or die! We had no idea whether we would see our family members alive or not. But I can say that, God is more than faithful. All these years He was our shield and buckler. He protected us from all evil. He kept us alive and what He spoke or what He promised, He fulfilled.

God wants to bless your life today. Come to Him in a covenant relationship with Him. Accept Him as your Lord and Savior. Give your life in the mighty hands of God and He will take care of you and your needs. Jesus said in Mat 6:33-34, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
