Bible places people in two categories, Righteous or Sinner. When God created Adam and Eve they were perfect and there was no sin in them. They were righteous before God. They walked with God, spoke with God and had fellowship with God. They enjoyed all the blessings which God gave them. Everything was good and well with them until they sinned against God. God told them, not to eat the fruit of the tree which was in the midst of the garden of Eden, but a day came in their lives when they disobeyed God and ate the fruit of the forbidden tree. On that day their status changed from righteous to sinner and they were driven out by God from the garden of Eden.

Now they had two children of which one was Righteous and other was a Sinner. Abel was righteous before God but Cain was a sinner. Both brought offerings before God, but Abel's offering was accepted by God while Cain's offering was rejected. It made Cain very furious even to the extend that he killed his own brother.

Many years passed by and Adam's family grew in number and they became numerous on the earth. God looked on earth and He saw that the whole earth was full of violence and sin but He found a man named Noah who was righteous in His sight. Bible says in Gen 6:9, "This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God."

So we see that Bible differentiates people between Righteous and Sinner. There is no middle ground. Either you could be a Righteous person or you could be a Sinner. Though you may consider yourself to be OK as you are somewhat good and not really bad, but according to the Bible you are a sinner and if you are a sinner Bible says that the end of you is death - eternal death as we read in Rom 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Bible also tells us that we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Rom 3:23). If we come in the category of a Sinner then we are heading toward hell fire as many verses of scripture describe. Bible tells us that sinners will not inherit the kingdom of God as we read in Gal 5:19-21, "Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God." Jesus said in Mat 25:46, "And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

But God in His mercy made a way for us so that we could come out of our sins and live a Righteous life and enter into heaven. He gave His only Son to die for us. Jesus shed His precious blood on the cross and died for us to give us forgiveness of our sins. We read in Isa 55:7, "Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon." Today His precious blood is available to cleanse us of all our sins. Come to Him and repent from your sins, turn from your evil ways and He will forgive your sins. He will make you a new creature as Paul says in 2 Cor 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."

God wants to give you this wonderful new life full of peace, joy and happiness without having guilt. When you close your eyes in this world, He will be waiting for you to receive you in heaven. What a glorious day it would be. Look to Him and ask Him to forgive your sin and to come into your life.

Rivers of Living Water

By Sherly Isaac

John 7:37-38, On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."

Jesus said that out of the hearts of those who believe in Him, will flow rivers of living water. God was spoken of as fountain of living waters in Jer 2:13, "For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, And hewn themselves cisterns; broken cisterns that can hold no water." Living water which Jesus promised was Holy Spirit as we read in John 7:39, "But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified." Jesus reminded the promise of God that rivers of living water will flow from their hearts if they believed in Him.

What can living water do for a person?

Living water gives eternal life to a person:
Living water prevents one from death - eternal death. We read in Bible Proverbs 13:14, "The law of the wise is a fountain of life, To turn one away from the snares of death."

It was on a hot summer afternoon in India when there was a prayer meeting in our home. After the prayer meeting, most of the people had left and only one of my brother's friends was standing outside of our home and talking with him. He noticed a small bird unable to fly. We went near to that bird. The bird tried to fly away but it could not. I and my brother thought that it may be a very young bird which had not yet learned how to fly and may be it had fallen from the nest. But my brother's friend knew that it was Quail and was a fully grown adult bird. Anyway, we caught it as without any resistance the bird came in our hands. We brought it in our home and kept it in our verandah and we were very much sure that it will not fly away. But to our surprise when we gave it some water to drink, and when the bird drank the water a new life came in it. Within five minutes it was fleeing away from our house up to the top of tall trees. Then only we realized that because of extreme heat condition and because of not getting water the bird was about to die. But a small amount of water saved its life.

In the same way Living Water saves one's life from eternal death. Eternal death and eternal punishment is real. Those who have not accepted Christ, the Living Water they cannot enter into heaven. A spiritually dead person cannot go to heaven. That is the reason why Jesus said to Nicodemus, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3 )." Isaiah urged people to take the Living Water as we read in Isa 55:1-3, "Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance. Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you; The sure mercies of David."

Yes, this new life comes through God alone. If you have not yet received this new life, you need to come to the cross and accept Christ the Living Water so that you need not die but live eternally.

Living Water revives the weary soul and fills with Joy:

The other day Jesus met a woman on Jacob's well and when He was talking to her, He spoke about the living water. We read in John 4:13-14, "Jesus answered and said to her, "Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life."

At the end of their talk, the woman realized that Jesus was no ordinary human being but the promised Messiah who was about to come to deliver us. She got very excited and went to her village and spoke to everyone about Jesus saying, "Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ" (John 4:29)? And many Samaritans came and believed on Jesus because that Samaritan woman went and testified about Christ. That's what happens when living water flows through your life. People who come in contact with you will get a taste of that wonderful life and presence of God which is flowing through your life. Bible says in 1 Th 1:6, "And you became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit." If you go to some spring or fountain, it soothes, revives, refreshes and relaxes you. When you receive Holy Spirit, He fills your heart with indescribable joy, He refreshes your soul, He revives and rejuvenates your spirit. When the Living water flows from your life it revives other's lives and refreshes the weary soul who are going through terrible pain and suffering.

God wants to give this wonderful Living Water in your life that will make you a blessing to others. Come ho thirsty soul, Come to the waters and receive the Living Water so that the rivers of Living Water flow through your life.
